Jon not only told me the tools and hardware needed, but showed me how to use them on a piece of scrap metal.

I hired Todd Harris of Clean Coat Painting to paint the interior of my townhome in Natomas. We were…read moreon a tight schedule because I needed to turn the property over to our property manager - so there was only one shot to do the job, and it had to be done right the first time. Too bad it wasn't. I contacted Todd with the list of problems below, and requested a partial refund of $350 because I had to complete the work and cleanup myself since there was no time for Clean Coat to come back at a later time. His exact written response to me? "I don't play that way". Decide for yourself whether you want to trust someone who operates this way with your home. I wouldn't. Work not completed that was part of written estimate: -Nail holes were not filled (16 holes in downstairs bedroom, 4 in master bath) -Damaged drywall corner and texture were not touched up (just painted over) -New door was not caulked (all nail holes and screws in the trim and frame were NOT filled, just painted over - looks unprofessional and unfinished) -Several areas where the existing white paint could clearly be seen through the light gray where a second coat was needed -Existing hole patches were not touched up (you had even pointed these out specifically on our initial meeting) Paint over-spray/drips/splatter: -Both bathtubs -- a lot -Bathroom cabinets -Bathroom mirrors -Bathroom towel bars -Bathroom light fixtures (wall) -Shower faucet trim (where the spout comes out of the wall) -Toilet tank cover -Toilet shut off valves -Bathroom door trim -Brand new floor tile in master bath -Dining room vertical blinds -Kitchen counter tops -Bathroom light switches -Bathroom electrical sockets -Multiple other light switches/sockets

They were a five star ... until they weren't. Victor and…read morecrew painted the entire interior of our house prior to moving in, in 2017. Awesome job. They returned to do bathroom cabinets the next year. Again, awesome. Todd quoted painting our exterior in 2019. He knew our house well by then. In the spring of 2020, Victor painted our kitchen cabinets, (still awesome) and we asked Todd to schedule the exterior, which he did, for the first week of September. We talked with Todd about safety issues as parts of our house are three stories. He said he would get back to us. Not. A few weeks prior to the scheduled start date I called Todd. He said he would call me the next week to schedule a time the following week to stop by with Victor and discuss. Silence. Texted the Friday of that week. Silence. Phone message, and finally a response and meeting time the next day - THE WEEK THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE PAINTED OUR HOUSE!! Meeting was about planning - scaffolding, (which I'm surprised he doesn't have) and, or a lift and safety lines. He and Victor were going to discuss and get back to us along with a revised quote as these things apparently hadn't occurred to Todd when he first quoted. Again, he's known the house for 3 years, quoted and scheduled it. Text that evening regretted letting us know they'd decided they weren't going to complete the job for safety reasons. What?! Now, at the end of the season we're left trying to find someone to do the job. Almost impossible as everyone is booked. Were with them until this HUGE lack of planning and professionalism has left us waiting until next year for what should have already been completed. Good thing he has Victor.

Their garden art went from whimsical to really lovely. I liked the wind catchers. Great variety of trees and shrubs. Summer veg plants coming soon, after danger of frost is past. But there is no way I could resist stopping in the Nursery to check out all the beautiful plants. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Pricing is not outrageous. This is one of the few independent owned local nurseries not yet gobbled up by a big franchise. On this past visit, I bought a bell pepper plant and a jalapeño pepper plant. The plants were about 3-4 inches tall and $3.99 each. They were healthy and gorgeous looking. Know it's up to me to keep these gems alive. Ohhh the pressure. They have a large assortment.... they have a bit of everything... succulents, roses, fruit trees, shade trees, houseplants, and seasonal vegetable plants. They also carry plant food, soil, garden decorations, pots, and gardening tools. The setup is rural and rustic but not amateurish. The parking lot is a gravel lot as is the nursery grounds. So leave your high heels at home. Another thing ... that unlike the big box shops, El Dorado Nursery does not have warranties or provide refunds for plants. Plus no dogs are allowed. They wreak havoc on the mental health of the resident chickens.
