Decent little diner. Not much to look at from the outside but inside it has a cozy feel. Waitress was friendly and attentive. My breakfast was decent diner fair but nothing that really jumped out at special.

Here is a piece of the shell i am still picking out of my teeth in the parking lot.

I love love love eggs Benedict. I ordered that here. Unfortunately my eggs were so over cooked they were like bricks. Ok, it was busy, i get it. But then i took a bite and it was crunchy. There are egg shells in my eggs Benedict. I told the waitress and she took it away. Didn't offer to make a new one, didn't offer to take it off my bill. My friend who i was with was so grossed out she didn't finish her food either. Needless to say i won't be back and we are going to find another place to actually eat since we are both still hungry.

I've lived in the area for a decade and have never eaten here. Today we did! What a nice surprise. Diner atmosphere but welcoming. Staff are great and very friendly. I had the eggs Benedict and the hollandaise was the best in the area. My husband loves the breakfast sandwich. Overall, this place will be a new favorite for us. Sooooo good

Why Churchill's? It was open. It was Memorial day and we were driving through Sturbridge. We needed lunch. Churchill's was pretty much our only option besides for a coffee shop. We walked it- it was packed. We were immediately confused over if they would serve us or not. The website dias they were open until 1pm. We walked in a little past noon and they said close the door we will take you but that's it! We say down. It was cold! A back door was open and blowing directly on us. I am used to specials at a restaurant that is a regular breakfast like 2 eggs with toast and hash browns but not Churchill's. It was like pieces of meals squished together. For example I had the. 2 2 2. 2 eggs, 2 pieces of french toast and 2 pieces of bacon. So I ordered has browns on the side. They were straight out of a frozen bag and had no seasoning. I can say I liked the french toast but it's just like if I made it at home. Not impressed but thanks for being open.

A great little place. Service was phenomenal. Great coffee. Parking a bit tricky, rustic in the outside but food and inside impeccable! CASH ONLY FYI. They have an ATM and accept cash app and VENMO.

Not the best breakfast place in town not even close. The service is very unpleasant as well. Good thing there's plenty of other options!

Under cooked waffle. Marginal bacon. Pretty much underwhelming but the side orders of distain from the staff are free. So there's that.

There weren't too many people there, but it made for a lowkey dinner. The food arrived quickly, and everything we had was actually much better than we were expecting. Cool concept with all of the books lining the dining room, and we appreciated that you could take 3 for free. Also walked around the book cellar too. There weren't really any titles that grabbed us though. My main critique is that it was pretty dusty... we looked at one of the lights and the cobwebs on it made it look like a Halloween decoration. You have to wonder if the dining room is that neglected, how bad is the state of the kitchen? Wouldn't be in a rush to come back, but glad I can say I've been to what's considered such an iconic roadside stop.

(Compared to The Oliver Wright Tavern which is outside the admission gates). There is a self service cafeteria type establishment in the basement. Today we ate in the first floor restaurant. We had attended MidWinter Mischief and dinner was included. It was a soup buffet - choice of Clam Chowder, Beef Stew or Tomato Vegetable. Westminster crackers. Flaky biscuits. Apple or Pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream for dessert. The waitstaff were in character. Fortunately the food was not! There were long family style tables in the center of the room. Assorted deuces and four tops along the sides. Since we were a party of 7, we were seated in the center with strangers. I kinda felt bad for the people who had to listen to us over dinner.

All tables were unwashed, filthy and disgusting! The Rest Rooms were filthy, disgusting and nasty! They have write ups about Covid all over the place, on their website and some staff are still wearing masks yet they don't bother to clean and sanitize the bathrooms! NASTY! The Village is nice, houses are interesting, and employees other than in Ballard's Tavern were all very nice. We will go back to Old Sturbridge Village when in the area again but we will bring our own lunch or go down the road to Panera for a fresh, healthy lunch. Could even have Panera deliver to our car in the parking lot and eat under a tree in the shade. Hopefully others taking their families to the village will see this review and plan ahead to bring food and drinks with them so they are not ripped off with gross food and overpriced drinks.

"My grandma she can make a soup With a little a this 'n that…read moreBut with grandma cookin no need to worry! Just a little a this 'n that" (Pete Seeger) My final review of 2022 will describe the worst customer service we encountered all year. We had an errand to run in Sturbridge and figured we'd include a lunch stop in town. The Yelp app brought us to Soup to Nuts. #1) I love soup and #2) it's located inside the Sturbridge Marketplace, so we figured we'd do some shopping and browsing too. When we approached Soup to Nuts we saw a sign that said they opened at 11:00. The front door had another sign that said they opened at 12:00. Since the door was locked, and it was about 11:30, we figured we'd check out the Sturbridge Flea Market and come back. At 12:02 their front door was unlocked, and the sign announcing the 12:00 opening was gone. As we entered the restaurant, we were "greeted" by four words spoken (or more accurately snarled) in a very gruff and rude manner - "we're not open yet". Tone of voice matters, and I will look you straight in the eye and put my hand on a stack of bibles and tell you his tone was beligerant and angry (to the point of aggressive). It was beyond rude. It was shocking. So we turned around, left and never came back. Happy New Year ya filthy animal.

I will say that on our first visit we thought the owner was initially a bit gruff as others had mentioned but we quickly realized that's not the case and he is an incredibly gracious host.
