I love love love eggs Benedict. I ordered that here. Unfortunately my eggs were so over cooked they were like bricks. Ok, it was busy, i get it. But then i took a bite and it was crunchy. There are egg shells in my eggs Benedict. I told the waitress and she took it away. Didn't offer to make a new one, didn't offer to take it off my bill. My friend who i was with was so grossed out she didn't finish her food either. Why Churchill's? It was open. It was Memorial day and we were driving through Sturbridge. We needed lunch. Churchill's was pretty much our only option besides for a coffee shop. We walked it- it was packed. We were immediately confused over if they would serve us or not. The website dias they were open until 1pm. We walked in a little past noon and they said close the door we will take you but that's it! We say down. It was cold! A back door was open and blowing directly on us. I am used to specials at a restaurant that is a regular breakfast like 2 eggs with toast and hash browns but not Churchill's. It was like pieces of meals squished together. For example I had the. 2 2 2. 2 eggs, 2 pieces of french toast and 2 pieces of bacon. So I ordered has browns on the side. They were straight out of a frozen bag and had no seasoning. I can say I liked the french toast but it's just like if I made it at home. Not impressed but thanks for being open. read more

Inattentive staff lost our order and had us waiting over 40 mins. Place was real packed so we assumed it was being worked on. No one told us expected wait time when we got seated and no one checked in with us after. They put in a rush order after but at that point we walked out. They are operating over capacity on weekends, starting with a tiny parking lot and crammed seating. Broken light in the bathroom. Would not recommend. Look for other options! read more

What a great place with good home made food and a hostess as nice as they come. Holly helped us get to her location and then the fun started. Holly made us feel warm and welcomed. The menu was great. The food was fantastic. My friend is a real hamburger connoisseur. He said the best he has had on the east coast.. I had soup and a club sandwich. The soup, tomatoe Florentine, smooth and tasty. Stopped in here with my husband based off the four start reviews... let's start off with the fact this place is only cash,venmo or cashapp for payment. We both order something off the specials menu. My husband got the apple cinnamon waffle, eggs and side of bacon. His eggs and bacon arrived before his waffles. His waffle was pretty basic with cinnamon shaken on it with whipped cream. The only thing he enjoyed was the apples. I got biscuits sausage and gravy with eggs and home fries. The gravy was very watery and had a weird after taste. The biscuits were not fluffy or warm. My home fries were literally just plain potatoes with no seasoning at all. Overall our experience with the food was subpar at the most. Waitress was nice but forgetful. We stumbled across this place because the other place we wanted to try was so crowded. We were pleasantly surprised. Service was quick and friendly. Food was great! I had eggs Benedict with bacon and a chocolate pancake and my husband had an omelette I think it was their house one - good prices, warm atmosphere. It's one of those dive whole in the wall places so if you're looking for lavish amenities it's not for you .... but we'll definitely be back! read more

So im not sure If they are under staffed, or what, but every weekend I call to order take out,(keep in mind, im ordering 1 eggs Benedict) yet literally for the past month and a half I've been told sorry we can't do take-out I start calling them around 10am- until they are closed at 2, so for 4 hours they don't have the time for 1 eggs Benedict? My mother and sister were visiting so we took them here recently on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Let's just say lightning did not strike twice. Although it was packed, we timed it right as a large table was open and waiting for us so we were seated right away. After that the service went straight downhill. It just seemed like there wasn't enough help to handle the Sunday crowd. I can understand taking a while to cook for everyone, there's only so much room on the grill. Our server just never seemed to be around so it took a while for coffee and to place our order. Mrs. B was lucky enough to get a big giant hair in her breakfast. A great local go to place when you are hungry...u got the egg white spinach and green pepper omlet and it was huge, it filled the entire plate..homefries and sourdough toast and coffee for slightly under $10...a great bargain and a must if you are in town...its nothing pretty to look at, but I'm not going there for ambiance...the waiter was very attentive and acknowledged me as soon as I opened the door...a rarity these days...nice job! read more

It's tough to give this a bad review because the server literally was one of the nicest we've encountered at any restaurant. That said, the sheer amount of disorganization really took away from how nice and friendly the server was. We waited 15 minutes for a table to be cleared, and the entire time we watched the owner come in and out of the kitchen loudly complaining about how understaffed she was but clearly doing nothing to take control of the situation. We also overheard several people complaining about missing or wrong food orders and the owner literally asking people at tables who ordered the food she was delivering. We then waited another 15 minutes to have our order taken -- again it wasn't the server's fault, it was the total lack of organization and coorindation between the owner and server that made it a mess. While there appeared to be an air conditioner, it may not have been working because it was stifling in the restaurant. Finally, the food was mediocre diner food -- it definitely wasn't good enough to justify the lackluster, hot interior and long wait. When I go to diners, I'm perfectly happy eating typical run-of-the-mill diner food (that's why I go there, after all) but if the staff is a mess and the place is sticky and humid, it goes from cute and homey to downright depressing in short order. read more

A really damn good local place to get breakfast. I just can't say enough about the home-made cinnamon roll French Toast. The truly delightful and funny waitress advised "it is the best thing you will ever put in your mouth", and she was not lying. Certainly the best French Toast I've ever had. Very minimally eggy (over-egginess is why I don't like most French Toast). 1.50 extra to upgrade to the real maple syrup (just do it). Pancakes are huge and fluffy. Same with the omelettes... My only complaints are that it is CASH ONLY, and the home fries are the blandest I've ever tasted (literally not seasoned). read more

First of all the bathroom was dirty. That is unacceptable for a restaurant. The cup of hot water I ordered had a crack where the handle attached to the mug. I held it with 2 hands so there wasn't an accident. They did charge 95 cents for this cup of hot water. The bacon was super salty and the flavor was not good. The sausage was greasy. The over easy eggs were cooked well and the pancakes were good. My husbands omelette was bland. The rye toast was good. All in all I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Total hole in the wall & that is what makes this place special. We found this place on a whim; we were looking for a breakfast place while we were camping in Sturbridge. We wanted some more than Dunkin Donuts. You would not know this place was here if you weren't looking for it. We got here at the right time, as after we were seated, it got so busy. They have a full breakfast menu & have blackboard specials too. The waitresses are great, very personable. I will definitely come back whenever we are in the area, which is once a year. We both had eggs - my over easy both had broken yolks and were over medium in one case and over hard in the other. Eggs were salty, home fries were bland, bacon was cold. One waitress spent the majority of our visit in a shouting conversation across the dining room with someone she knew. Best pancakes! Hands down! My husband ALWAYS gets french toast, but not when we eat at Churchill's! No, sir! He orders pancakes with the rest of us! Their specials offer so much variety. It's delicious! No matter how boring or exciting you want your breakfast, you can get it there! Their eggs actually taste fresh. The sausage is ahh-mazing! The bacon is a little small, but still delicious. You can taste the quality in the food. And the coffee ain't too shabby either ;) It's tiny and cozy, but you won't feel cramped. The decor is definitely from a previous time, but it's historic Sturbridge! There's handicap entrance on the opposite side of the restaurant. They only take cash, but there is an ATM there that we use often. We try to get there early to beat the rush on the weekends. The staff is always friendly and accommodating! They've even pulled out coloring books for my girls on a slow morning. They are worth all the tips! read more
