Plenty of Edmonds locals will tell you that there still isn't much going on up here. In the last few years, we've picked up quite a few good places to eat and have a drink, but it still feels quiet. We're slowly ticking off categories to give Edmonds a complete set of places to go, and now we have a traditional and slightly historic pub to add to the mix. It's brand-new, so it's not literally historic, but it has a historic feel to the interior. Like all good places around here, it becomes a regular part of the rotation right away for a lot of us as soon as we try it. Churchkey has a nice old-fashioned sign with big wooden lettering painted gold. You walk in and there's a little semi-private walled-off room on the right hand side. There are long tables and a highboy distributed evenly across from the bar--the bar also has plenty of stools. Everything is wooden, and mostly dark wood, with nicely detailed wainscoting, chair rails, and many mismatched chairs. Lots of old American football photos from pre-WW2 framed around the place. There is a formality to a lot of the decor, but then the mismatching furniture and sporting motif give it a hominess and informality that put it all into balance. There's one flat screen in a corner, usually with the game on, but it does not at all feel like a sports bar. They have about 12 taps, a full lineup of hard licks, and I think a couple wines. They have a few house cocktails, so they kinda cover their bases in terms of welcoming different kinds of drinker in here. There's a brief food menu with savory comforting pub grub--stuffed dates, grilled cheese, mac n cheese, bockwurst. We split the first three things on that list. Explosive prosciutto flavor on the dates, with a nice balsamic reduction there. The sandwich was wonderfully ungreasy, with thinly sliced green apples and turkey. Nice side salad. The mac n cheese was great; nice rich salty cheese flavor and good crunch on top. I'm no authority on MnC, though, but I did think it was great. Service is very friendly and eager and right on point. They assure you up front that they welcome you to sample any of the tap offerings before you buy. They cover the bar and the floor well. Prices were pretty decent. It is a bit confusing to figure out how this place works when you walk in. I guess you seat yourself and hope the waiter realizes someone new sat down. Came in for a light dinner with a friend. Nice pub...a touch of Bavarian feel and have nom nom corned beef sliders. I know..more food. What can I say, this girl loves to eat! I tried their green goblin cider (I like cider beers and don't know why) anywho,I really liked it! Their crab dip? Super Hot like literally hot. Once you start tho, double dipping happens! Yes I double dipped but only with my love ones. I'm not a dirty girl! Crab dip, SO Yummy! My first time here and I had a lovely time while watching the Sounders. This is my third stop for tonight and it's only 7-ish PM. It gets loud here or was it "I" getting too happy? This is a great spot and I was happily surprised with the food. People at our table tried the pretzels, chicken pot pie, the Kobe dog, Reuben and the grilled cheese. Everything was amazing. This place was recommended by an individual that I work with who lives in the area. I decided to drive down from Mukilteo it's about a good 20 minute drive. I drove down the main street and it's a quaint little town it has a water fountain in the center of a four-way intersection and I decided to park a little bit further down the way from that area... So I parked my car and I believe it's 4th Street correct me if I'm wrong. so I walk towards the area again I'm out of my car my GPS is off so I'm thinking it's right off the main street. I'm walking I'm not seeing so finally I come to a stop and turn to my left see a bookstore sign and it's actually right before that you will miss it if you if you're not ilocal. I went into this Pub and it's got a English Irish throwback 40 type of atmosphere dark wood very authentic if you would complete with dart boards. I ordered the bratwurst that comes with a side salad for $12 and a porter ... Terry Porter to be exact for $6. When placing your order you have the opportunity to have fries, tots or a side salad. Not the bratwurst came in about 10 minutes and it was on a toasted sesame seed bun that was very fresh and a great tasting brought smothered in kraut...mmmmmm this was right on time and the Brat taste was great it had a little crunch or snap when you bit into it. I had the opportunity to add my own mustard so I plastered this thing. the salad was mixed greens with slivered Tomatoes I ordered balsamic dressing on the side. I just moved to Edmonds and have been wanting to check this place out. Spent a couple hours there with a friend having drinks and we both got entrees. She got bangers and mash, which looked amazing. She said it was really good and she enjoyed the arugula salad that came on the side. I got the Mac and Cheese and it was outstanding! Place has a great aesthetic and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Being an Edmonds resident now, I could see ChurchKey becoming a go-to spot! read more

This small bar has a cozy feel or vibe. It's a local place, and no minors are allowed . The food here is far above the usual pub fare. Teetotalers can enjoy the food here. I come for their food and stay for the atmosphere. A great place during week nights when it's not overly busy or crowded. If you come on a weekend night, you might have to wait ... On the menu, their home made chicken pot pie and the beechers cheese along with a big, warm dipping soft pretzel are very delicious. My husband enjoyed the beechers macaroni and cheese with bacon bits, and my daughter and I both love their beet salad, and the mashed potato baked as either a main dish or a huge side dish. Their wait staff are knowledgeable and this cold time of year, try the adult hot chocolate with 15% alcohol. We have been twice lately , and can vouch for the consistently good food . For the beer drinker, there are many in tap here to be enjoyed. My husband and son in law enjoyed the varieties here. Lastly, there is a dart game in the rear of the pub, with friendly locals. There are narrow church pews, high bar seating, long and short tables and chairs. This place is homey, friendly , and the low lighting makes this a nice place for a date night. The kitchen closed slightly earlier than we anticipated, but we ordered off of the late night menu for a take out item. Pricing is fair and the food quality is consistent. I come here once inn a while. Food is always good. The atmosphere is electric. Lots of camaraderie. Friends meeting for a cup of cheer. I usually have the pork belly tacos which are always yummy. Tonight I had the Gnocchi with chicken, pesto. And Beecher's cheese. Delicious. An explosion of flavor. Definitely worth stopping in. read more

This is a great Irish pub Downtown Edmonds! Place is run by amazing and kind staff, has a wide selection of tasty tap bears and serves delicious comfort food. Atmosphere is very fun and inviting, even cozy if you are into this type of mood. We really like that they rotate and change up available beers - you always guaranteed to have something new and interesting to try. What an adventure! We love this place, and before Covid used to come there all the time. Now we get growlers filled up every once in a while, and enjoy their outside area when lucky to get an open table. I really liked the atmosphere and the help was attentive and good. However, I was really thrown off by the Shepard's pie. At 17 dollars I was expecting a standard size portion what I got was a glorified ramekin (cup) about 1/4 size of what I expected with some side greens, it was tasty but I left hungry. It was scarcely an appetizer in size. May pop in for the future but likely not for dinner :(. read more

Where are the stickers? I mean, the service from Kate and the crew is friendly and the food delicious, don't get me wrong, but I'd love to represent and give some free advertising with STICKERS! We had the pretzel with cheese and the zesty wrap; both were fab. The pretzel was nice and crusty on the outside, not too salty, and dense and soft inside. The wrap wasn't overly dressed with BBQ sauce and it had a smoky yet tangy flavor. And the pineapple salsa was sweet yet spicy with red onion, overall well-balanced. The baked mashed potatoes were definitely the way to go (extra charge but worth it!). One cider on tap and a number of beers to select from, plus they offered a tasting for anything we wanted to try out. read more

I cant get enough of the flatbread prosciutto and arugula pizza. The pork belly tacos are awesome and so is the crab dip. The service is top notch and the drinks super yummy. Horrible!!! Because I went here last Thursday night to meet my lady and was treated badly. I was a bit early and ordered a drink at the bar while I waited for her. I ordered a drink while I waited. The blond male bartender asked if I could move down because he needed to make room for other customers. I told him that I was wainting for my wife and he said "She better be quick because he had paying customers waiting for seats" "Seats are money and an empty seat aint makin any money" Well... my lady showed up two minutes later and we promptly left to let the greedy barkeep have his wish. I drop in here on a fairly frequent basis and it's hit or miss but it's mostly a miss! The bar staff is unprofessional and ill advised on the beer knowledge considering that they pride themselves on "Specialty beers"! The customer service is very subpar and the food is just ok. I would rate this place higher if they actually seemed like they cared about their customers but I don't see that! Buyer beware is all I have to say. P.s. Don't bring a date, patrons and or bartenders tend to pick up on your date while you take a run to the restroom. read more

3 stars = good, I like it, will come again. This little pub does remind me of a quaint and mild English pub in its location and its decor and furnishings. The food options are quiet good here and not just your typical fried American bar finds. I was pleasantly surprised to see an arugula salad and a nice selection of flatbreads. The bangers and mash was a tasty simple dish. There's something on the menu for most tastebuds at this place. As far as libations go, they have some tasty cocktails. I enjoyed a spicy mezcal with muddled cucumbers and my friend had the margarita from scratch (a touch sweet and lacked a kick, but ok). Pricing is not cheap, but comparative to other "modern" bars and lounges. The pub space is small, popular, and fills up quickly. We went on around 5 pm on a weekday. My goodness this place is delicious! I have only been here twice but both times were amazing. Their chicken pot pie is to die for. When I am eating it, I wish I was at home curled up in a blanket eating. It is the perfect comfort food for a chilly day, but lets be honest its so good I'd still eat it on a warm day too ;) Their pretzels are fantastic too! I was at Churchkey Pub the night of the incident regarding the negative review stating that the group of 14 were "asked to leave".... They were not asked to leave, but asked to tone it done a notch. The women in the group were screaming at such a high tone that literally the rest of the patrons not in that group would instantly look over to the dart board area out of sheer shock! I also witnessed the interaction between the employee of Churchkey and the group leader and it appeared to be respectful conversation. But, one woman insisted on throwing out " their' credentials stating that they were/are doctors and or big shot members of the community... She was very rude and did nothing but escalate the tensions between the group towards the employee. Take this poor review with a big grain of salt to a group of spoiled people behaving badly without any regard to the other 40+ patrons who were trying to enjoy their night as well... read more

Beer was cold, but how hard is that? A group of 14 of us got asked to leave by the bartender, because the ladies (our wives) were making too much noise in an Irish pub while we played darts. Yes. Too loud. In an Irish pub. We were not drunk. It was one of the wives 55th birthdays. Yes 55th, and we're obviously HUGE troublemakers. If you can't have an exuberant party at an Irish pub, where can you? And apparently, if you ask the owner about this, his answer is, "we're not an Irish pub." Hmmmm... It's ok, I get it...you're kowtowing to the tiny, seriously retiree, 70+ crowd that complained. But don't advertise yourselves as an Irish bar, if you can't act like one. Either wear your Depends, and cater to the oatmeal crowd, or man up, and don't bend over to the minority that complains, just because they're "local". Because we're local too. read more

Very friendly vibe, so it doesn't feel claustrophobic. Suitable for a date or to meet up with friends. There isn't a great space for minors and families, so this one's for the grown ups. Fun bar in downtown Edmonds. I come here about once a month with some girlfriends and the place is always packed. They have an extensive drink menu and also offer delicious pub fair. I've been to Churchkey's a couple times now and I'm pretty jazzed on the place. You know how most English pubs are just Sounders and Hawks bars masquerading as a pubs. Like, you walk in and there's one British flag in the corner of a bathroom stall. Pathetic...When you walk into Churchkey's, it feels like the place is being run by Benedict Arnold and his band of red coats, so you know it's legit. The draft always seems to be rotating with some pretty good selections (most seem to be from the PNW). They have a prime offering of the classic English delights, including DANK Bangers and Mash and Chicken Pot Pie. The flatbreads are insanely delicious and decently sized for one person. ...and if they're not big enough for you, maybe you should stop eating so much food. Pro tip: If you walk in here drunk or sober, order the Bavarian pretzel with Beechers cheese. It's soft yet crunchy, salty and savory, and tbh, I'm getting worked up just talking about it and it's 8:42 AM the next day. The servers are really knowledgable of everything on the menu, including beers, which is nice. Just be ready to be patient if you come in on a Friday or Saturday night. It's a small place and they don't have a lot of tables (maybe 7-8) or servers. SO JUST RELAX AND BE PATIENT, YOU PSYCHO. We all want dat pretzel and cheese. read more

A little Europe deep in Edmonds! Heck yes. Lucky for me even though I'm on a diet right now, ti was my cheat day, so cheat I did! OH HECK YES. FOOD: My parents were with us and they are OBSESSED with the crab dip. I'm not into crab so I can't say much about it...but they licked that plate they love it so much. I did enjoy my bratwurst. That was super tasty good meat! My husband had an issue with his sandwich but that was "orderers error" not a fault of the food. He got one with Swiss and goat cheese and he's not a fan of either... so I think it could be a good sandwich if you're into those pungent flavors. I finished my meal with bread pudding, my favorite dessert of all time, and this was a good one and not too big. AMBIANCE: IT's cozy in there and totally feels like an old pub...hence the name I know I know. it's fun. DRINKS: I got a refreshing gin cucumber drink that I loved. I did think about getting a corpse survivor but I had to go with gin...I love gin. My dad loves their Mexican coffee. SERVICE: Our server was great, helpful and super friendly.
