I thought this was a Bojangles, it use to be. I was really looking forward to their dirty rice. We ordered anyway since we didn't want to wait any longer to eat. They are connected to a fairly busy convenience store. The appearance was pleasing and everything looked clean. They were out of spicy chicken and would have to wait longer than I was willing to wait. I wasn't happy but they did have Texas Pete packets so went with that. We got chicken, mashed potatoes & gravy, and coleslaw. The chicken and coleslaw were excellent. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good. In the end we were very satisfied. read more

I went through the drive-thru at this Church's Chicken... it's connected to a Circle K gas station. I had a craving for one of their honey biscuits... and honestly, that's the main reason I stopped by. I ordered the 3-piece tender meal with mashed potatoes and gravy instead of fries. The drive-thru had a bit of a wait... looked like the car ahead of me had a big order... but I was patient. When I got the food, it looked good. The chicken tenders were thick and juicy. The breading was just okay... I think it could've used more seasoning. The BBQ dipping sauce helped a lot and gave it a better flavor. The mashed potatoes were actually pretty solid... nice consistency and the gravy had a good classic taste. But the real star was that honey biscuit. Soft... warm... sweet... just like I remembered. I probably should've just ordered a few of those and one chicken strip and called it good. I didn't go inside, but from what I could see through the window, the dining room looked kind of messy... so I was glad I chose the drive-thru. read more

Was treated by a vendor of mine at work who got a Togo order. The chicken was good, however the skin wasn't as crispy as it could of been. Not saying extra crispy but no crispiness at all. It did have good seasoning overall. The sides were mashed potatoes with gravy which was delicious. Definitely a go to side. The fries were ok, nothing too special as they were somewhat soggy and really didn't have any salt or seasoning on them. The portions seemed good and they did provide napkins, hot sauce and ketchup in the bag. If they offered an extra crispy selection, I would get that next time. I got the bbq grilled/baked chicken quarter with fries, another side(i had macaroni & cheese) and a drink for $5.00. You can't go wrong with a deal like that. The flavor of the chicken tasted like it did truly come right off the drill. I really wanted fried chicken, but the deal was too good to pass up. One of the most awkward and uncomfortable transaction in my life!!! Walked in the establishment there were two employees talking about something I waited for them to finish their conversation, the guy at register locked at me like I was bothering him I said hi he responded the same, I got my food and had no napkins I walk back up, the other employee is helping a customer in front of me. The other finishes sees me behind customer walks off to the cashier and pointed in my direction " he needs help" the cashier said what did I miss and gave me my napkins. The food was good, but I felt unwanted there. I suggest go thru the drive thru. read more

I've been here a handle full of times. Most of the time my food was good. The service was always really slow but, today was pretty fast. I see different workers (elder) in there now than I did before and they were a lot nicer than the younger workers that I've ordered from in the past. No shade to the younger workers but, there's definitely a difference in how we are treated as customers. Today I ordered a 5 piece tenders meal. The tenders were good but they weren't as fresh as I'd liked them to be. Room temp and not very crispy. My fried okra was fresh and hot, really good! One of my favorite sides to order. This is, without a doubt, THE worst Church's I've ever frequented. You must think I made a mistake giving them 4 stars, right? Nope. They earn each stupid star I gave. Let's talk about COVID precautions... I've never stepped foot in this establishment-- always drive thru- so I can't speak on what's happening in the dining room or counter inside. But from my vantage in the car: the gentleman frying the chicken- wearing his mask on his chin; the elderly lady working the drive thru window- mask under her nose; the lady that took my order over the speaker and then came to the window to verify what I had to repeat twice already- pulled her mask down to talk to me. I only saw one employee wearing gloves, and she was bagging the hot food. Maybe they think COVID can't handle the smell of jalapeños or doesn't exist on the Westside? Couldn't tell ya. Every single time I come to this Church's I have to wait. Doesn't matter if I'm the only car in line or the 7th. I'm always putting my car in park. Take my warning and go with it: gas up at the pump before placing your order here because I'm pretty sure the staff is busy catching, killing, and frying those chickens in there. This time I came prepared with a digital book. For the past 5 or so times, whenever I ordered a honey butter biscuit (always a box of six) there has literally been ZERO honey butter! Seriously!! This is the ONLY reason I come to friggin Church's. Let's face it-- Popeyes and Bojangles walk circles around this greasy chicken! So on this visit, I wasn't taking any chances. I'm tired of being tired, y'all... I ordered a 2 piece dark with a side of baked mac and cheese and ONE honey butter biscuit. I also ordered their new spicy chicken sandwich to try out mainly because they (supposedly) use a honey butter bun. That sandwich was 60% bread, which would have been acceptable if you could detect a little bit of honey butter I took one bite of that sandwich and that was enough. The fries were cooked in old grease... just terrible. Couldn't eat more than a single fry! The baked mac and cheese was laughable! I think they forgot to bake it because it's just swimming in loose cheese sauce. I'm pretty sure I'd get sick if I attempted to eat it. The chicken was okay... but like I said before there are better options. But baybeh!!! That honey butter biscuit was down right delicious!!! I'm so upset because the one time I order only one, they finally give me a good one. I know if I go back and order more I won't get that same level of quality. And as sad as it is, I WILL be back to order more eventually because that single biscuit is like crack (so I assume; never partaked ). That's why they get 4 stars. That single biscuit. You know, the story of churches fried chicken is actually a pretty interesting one. Do you guys partner up and open up a small fried chicken restaurant together. Fast forward a few years and they get into an argument and split up. One man keeps the restaurant they opened together which is called Popeyes chicken. The other guy opens churches fried chicken. So obviously the chicken is going to taste very similar if not identical and sides are going to be nearly identical. Well, although that may be the case as a general rule, it is not with this restaurant. They sing to be relatively steady while I was waiting to place my order but when I got my food my chicken look and tasted it seemed like it was cooked sometime yesterday and left in a warmer waiting for me to come in specifically order it. The typically flavorful and crispy chicken skin and Brady is usually the best part of the chicken. But not here. I felt like I was trying to eat rocks that tasted like chicken. Now personally, I can't recall ever eating chicken rice before. But let me just say it was not a pleasurable experience. So if your jaws and your teeth are made of tempered steel and titanium, then you should be good to go. If not then I would definitely avoid this place unless you need to waste money at a dentist office somewhere. read more

Today at 11:40 I got a meal with 3 dark legs of meat and a biscuit and I had just eaten the chicken and half the biscuit and I felt absolutely sick I rushed home and luckily I got a bowel and too the bathroom before I threw up 3 times. This has got to be one of the worse Churches I've been to. I pull up and there's a sign on the drive through speaker to pull to window. I pull to window and the lady literally is just staring at me through the glass...ok so we sitting here looking through the dirty glass. She finally opens and and still don't greet me. So I'm like ummmmm hello I wanna order! Lady said what you want?? ‍‍ Just rude for no reason . I place my order....get home to old hard chicken. I ordered 2 thighs and a leg..I got 1 Breast, 1 thigh, and 1 leg. Also ordered fries, got mashed potatoes. Hell if you gonna give me something I didn't order at least provide a spoon to eat the mashed potato. I keep going back due to the convieince of it being close to my house, but they never get my order right and they have an attitude as us the customers is getting on their nerves. Wow - that's all I got for an opener. Sad. So this is a Church's attached to a Kangaroo and it is fairly new. Going through the drive thru was painful. Slow, slow, slow. There were two cars ahead of me. They took so long one car finally just left before even ordering. Finally, we get to order. They offer 6 sides and every time we pick a side the girl tells me they are out of it. They were out of 3 of the 6 sides. Who is managing this store? Apparently nobody. Apparently this place is not well managed because our food arrives and big shocker. The order is wrong! We now must go inside and have a talk with the manager. In the plus side, the manager was extremely nice and apologetic. Unfortunately, that only goes so far but it did increase their stars from 1 to 2. We might try them once more hoping it's just an off day. I'll update after my next visit. read more

I wish there were -1 star. This "establishment" is horrendous. I've been three times. Thinking it could be better. First visit, was 2 pm, they were out of all chicken. We weren't offered a "this is how long it'll be" or anything, just no meat available. Ok. So I came a second time, so slow I couldn't even wait. Last time ever I will return. 8:30 in the evening, no sides, and an inconvenience to offer some to be freshly made. I'm assuming she was a "manager" huffed & puffed her way to make some shrimp. Which was awful. The biscuit was hard & stale, the potatoes you knew they had been out a while. Please offer your employees clothing that fits. Terrible service. Went through the drive through to order. Line to order is very slow even with just one car in front of us. The wait was worst more than 30 minutes wait it's ridiculous! We ordered the 10 piece value meal and charged us15.00 dollars extra for asking for all white meat. For sides we ordered mashed potatoes and Okra and when we got home they gave us cole slaw instead. There were not even one chicken breast in the box. Just wings and I don't even know what was the others, but seems like thighs to me. We called the store 3 times and nobody answered. I guess It's my last time eating their chicken. Very disappointed customers. I hope the Local Franchise owner reads this review! read more

Most incompetent manager I've ever dealt with on more than one occasion. I love Churches so I keep hoping they will get it right. Have to check your order EVERY time. Horrible customer service, rude employees. While ordering they continued to speak to each other and laughing not knowing this and thinking she was talking to me as she should have been because I was right in the middle of my order I said "excuse me I didn't hear you" she replied "I'm not talking to you" very rudely and had nothing but attitude when I got to the window..honestly I was scared to eat my food thinking she'd be the type to spit in it...just saying, And to top it off my order was wrong but I didn't want to deal with even worse attitude by going back and complaining about the order. I am baffled. Employees don't care that your at the counter or in the lobby and their choice of verbiage. Yelling clear into lobby as they try to communicate. Out of everything. Not one clean table.
