Chicken was horrible heavy coated had white globules underneath the crust that like Uncooked flour. Drove across town in December to the Congress Street location, hoping it would be better same thing. Obviously, they've changed their batter recipe. Three of the pieces in the box had retained moisture underneath that pound of crust and turned the chicken soggy. The food is always amazing but the service isn't, went on my lunch break and i was waiting in line for a while the manager took my order and was very rude!! i was being polite and told her what i wanted and she had a tone in her voice like if she didn't wanna do her job. i knew it was the manger because she was wearing all black compared to the other workers and she had big glasses on!! read more

I will never understand why they never get the orders right . Of course when you get home you see they didn't give you an item you ordered. I looked for the receipt and I didn't get that either to prove it . I ordered a 3 piece chicken dinner with cole slaw and cajun rice with an extra biscuit. Minus the cole slaw . If I could give this place less than zero stars I would. I had one decent experience there a few months ago and that is the only reason I went back. Last night the girl at the window could barely hear me because there was so much loud laughing and talking in the background. Turns out there was an older man and a younger man behind the counter, neither of them had a on anything on that would say that they were employees. The girl told us to pull around to the "arrow", meaning the front door. (Don't ask.) We waited over twenty minutes for our order. That was because they forgot about it. There are other details but I'm not in the mood right now. If I ever go back I will NOT pull around if told to. I think I might go back just to do that. Trashy place with trashy people. read more

This has to be one of the WORST fast food places in Lafayette. The service is terrible,management (if any) should be embarrassed of how the rest of staff operates. 2nd time I have tried this place hoping this time would be different. I read previous reviews thinking MAYBE some positive feedback would ease my worries and of course there is none. However I really wanted their biscuits and didn't want the line of other chains. Damn I should have gone with my first gut feeling. Ordered a 5 piece spicy combo,extra okra and an extra order of biscuits. Waited 14 minutes after paying for food. My order was correct (amazingly) but the middle part of chicken was cold as well as the okra with a slight metal taste. Threw it in trash. This place just opened which means two things: it's popular (read: crowded and slow) and there are some kinks to work out. I tried it out on a weekend at 2:30pm. The drive thru line was around the building the there was a significant line inside. The first thing I heard when I walked in was they were behind on spicy chicken. I ordered mild. The food was fine. Maybe the spicy chicken is crazy good. I've heard people rave about the biscuits and they were good. If Popeye's didn't have biscuits, I would probably consider these some of the best fried chicken adjacent biscuits. It's good enough, I would just wait until the opening crowd dies away. If I had a recommendation it would be to put out napkins, ketchup packets, ect. I saw several people having to ask for things at the counter, slowing the process further. read more

Ordered some chicken tonight for dinner. A male employee was flirting and clowning around with a female cashier while trying to pay for his employee meal while I was waiting to pay. When I got home the chicken crust was hard and stale (not crunchy but hard) and the meat inside had shrunk down to almost nothing (this is what happens when you re-fry chicken). This immensely kind and very respectful, professional young lady, although being later in the evening of a long day. She graciously greeted me with the brightest and most beautiful friendly smile. The sweetest and pleasant of voices. The moment in time captured my collective impression that this young, strikingly beautiful girl has an incredibly bright future. She is an outstanding and untold valuable asset to Churches Fried Chicken or any organization that she is associated. Slowest drive thru I have ever been to! Waited over 10 minutes in line! Good luck trying to get chicken out of this joint!

We ordered spicy and it was much higher on the heat index than Popeye's, which is OK with me. The white meat cuts are different than all other chicken chains. There is less breast, but more meat on the wings. Fried okra and fries are excellent. Biscuits come with honey-butter, but some biscuit lovers will wish they wouldn't automatically add the sweetness.
