We have actually waited about 45 minutes in line then another 15 minutes for our order - so you know they're good when people are willing to wait an hour for them. Churros Don Abel is a food truck located at the corner of Lampson Ave and Hester St. You can use the Haster Park parking lot. However, the entrance into the parking lot is from Haster St and the exit is out Lampson Ave. You cannot enter from Lampson Ave, if you do, the spikes will pop your tires. We ordered a bag of 10 churros for $17. It's made to order and took about 10 minutes. It was piping hot and came with caramel dipping sauce. Took us 10 minutes to get home and it was still crispy crunchy. I was full from eating two! They were about 11-12inches long! Churros Don Abel is quite good... My favorite is Don Churros Gomez in Anaheim. However, the wait there is long so if you're in a pinch and craving churros, you can drop by Churros Don Abel. I only waited about 3 minutes and my order came out! Incredible service! The only downside here is you have to order a minimum of 5 churros for $10. The churros were piping hot, crunchy on the outside, and doughy on the inside. They felt light and airy, and within a matter of minutes, we had scarfed them down! They also sell cajeta (caramel sauce) for $5 and $9, depending on the size. The guy was very nice and also asked us if we wanted to buy their aguas frescas, which came in a variety of flavors. This place is located at the Haster Basin Recreational Area, so you can go for a walk around the loop after if you'd like to burn off them calories. They're open every day at 4:30pm and are closed on Mondays. I've been meaning to try this place for a while, and I'm glad I did. This is a great place to buy churros in bulk for a party. Saw on social media that they were open on Thanksgiving. We drove out to grab a tray for the family dinner. I went with the 50 pieces ($74). Parking: there is street and lot, be careful not to enter through the exit as it may puncture your tires! This is another place I have Ben driving by and and finally stopped in-- there are about 4 or 5 food trucks there ( all of trucks offer solid food btw) and CDA isn't hard to find. First thing that I love is their prices -- you can get 20 for $18, or 10 for $12 or so. You can also buy caramel, strawberry sauce, and other toppings that go along with Churros. They make them after you order, so you get them hot -- a few times we will just eat them right there. Because they are made fresh they will be slightly greasy, make sure to grab some extra napkins to handle the hot churros. I think people are so used to buying overpriced churros that were made hours in advance ( sports events, amusement parks) they think the grease is a bad thing. I know they have several locations in SoCal and the staff is always super friendly and will help you make a decision. Churros Don Abel is a food truck that is located in Garden Grove off of Lampson. Sometimes the wait can get a little crazy but they do take cash and card. I def recommend getting a side of the caramel sauce although on the pricier side as it is $4.50 which is more then a couple of churros but its a decent size container and it is so good on ice cream, pancakes etc. The leche icing is also divine with the hot churros.
