One of our favorite parts was the outdoor seating area. We loved dining outside and enjoying the beautiful weather while sipping our drinks and relaxing. It created the perfect atmosphere to slow down and enjoy the experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, the drinks were excellent, and the food was just as impressive. I came in today and was served by a blonde cashier who felt cold and unfriendly. She was very bubbly and warm towards the patron (who was also a white woman) before me, who maybe seemed to be a friend or a regular. They were chatting for a bit and when it came to be my turn at the register, her face completely fell and she did not welcome me or say any greeting. Just.....silence........so I awkwardly ordered my drink. Once I said my order, she turned her head to the specials menu, and had a cold, blank expression, which made me think that it was out or that they couldn't do what I asked. I asked her if the drink I ordered was available, and there was a long pause before she dryly laughed it off and said that she didn't register what I was saying. It felt like a lame excuse and it felt so awkward; so I just tried to be as polite as possible and continued with my order. I wanted to just sit down and leave asap. It was so disorienting because she had acted in a completely different way with the girl before me. I just shrugged it off as a bad day, but when I consulted my friend about it, she said that the same girl acted in the same way towards her. And then I came here to write a review and saw that another Asian woman seemed to have a similar experience, so it doesn't just seem like a one-off thing....

Coupled with the faint smell of tea in the store, and you know that you're going to get an authentic experience. Store is very clean inside and the decor reminds you of being in a tea house. There's only about 3-4 tables inside, so not too many places to sit if it gets busy. You can order through a kiosk or in person, and the service is usually pretty timely. I ordered the Roasted Oolong tea latte and the Phoenix Oolong tea latte, both of which are their more popular drink selection. I usually try to get the lowest sugar level which was 10%. Of all the tea places I've tried, these drinks easily had the strongest tea flavor at that level of sweetness. If you're not use to the bitterness from tea, you might elect to select a higher level of sweetness to balance it out. The oat milk has a very subtle flavor, but also doesn't overwhelm the drink. Either way, I thought both drinks were well-made.

Obviously I went for the prior as I loved my milk tea being bolder on the tea flavor. I got the Roasted Oolong Tea Latte with whole milk at 75% sweetness level and heavy tea and I really really enjoyed it. The sweetness was just right, the tea flavor stood strong and I could tell how good the tea quality was in every sip, very fragrant and aromatic. We tried the pork belly and the cubano sandwiches. They were excellent in every way. The cubano was true to spec. Tender ham, mustard pickles on a beautiful roll. Simply delicious. The Pork Belly was spectacular. The pork was tender and flavorful and the cucumbers, cilantro, onions and jalapeños made it a flavor delight. All on a delicious roll. Just writing this makes me want another one! However, there's one thing you do not want to miss. Their newest addition is Salt Bread. These are sold 4 to a package and and are like the yummiest croissant you've ever tasted. I was sitting waiting for my order to be completed when the owner cam out with a bit of one on a fork. I was hooked. They're already baked, but the instructions are to put them in an air fryer (we used a small convection toaster oven) for 2-4 minutes at 350. I also like them split and toasted. They're fantastic! You'll want to put The Sandwich Society on your restaurant list! (And you'll want Salt Bread in your pantry too!).

The toasted buns on the pastrami melt gave a great texture and helped it from getting soggy. In contrast, the bulgogi sandwich was very wet and the bread felt more like a sponge at the end of my meal. The flavors were great but the sandwich itself was messy to eat. The service is great and they even gave us a cookie for each sandwich for free! It's a great place for a casual lunch. I'd definitely come back to try the other sandwiches.
