I have reordered this like 14 times. 2) Baigan Bhurta - 4 stars - tastes great but a bit too oily for my personal liking but like tastes GREAT 4) Achaar - 5 stars - for portion size alone 5) Mutter Paneer - 4 stars - Scratched the itch, quite good 6) Aloo Gobi - 2 stars - I did not enjoy this one as much which was a shock given the track record so far here. OK, one thing I will say this place is always filled with men. I don't know if this is like their dining hall or something but there's always a bunch of guys in the back just having a good time for the Hondorian chicken. I would definitely say order before you come cause that chicken takes about 25 minutes, but it is topped here. I love the chicken the biryani I like to go for the goat biryani and I tell them hold the spice but sometimes they can't so I just let them put all the spices in there and I just pick it out solid place great portion and gray prices but if you're looking to eat by yourself and you don't want to be awkward in your old lady, I would recommend taking it to go so that it doesn't mess up your experience with the food. i'm only putting four star because the chicken takes about 20 minutes to make and the garlic naan amazing their green sauce is also very delicious. read more

When I want to treat myself to a inexpensive and delicious meal I go to Chutney. I love ordering ahead and having it at home, eating it in the restaurant. I have always enjoyed the service. This is a wonderful place close to the Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel. We ordered the tandoori chicken, lamb wrap, chicken kebab wrap, and chicken wrap. You cannot argue with the taste and utter magic that is of Chutney's Tikka Masala! The ambiance is basic, the service is hardly there. You risk your life navigating the TL if you dine in. My family and I have been eating here for the past sixteen years almost. Before the owner rebrand to Chutney. Never had any issue with the food, let alone the ambiance of the restaurant. Visiting back after four years as a family, we noticed the food has gone completely downhill. Food coloring is predominantly sprinkled all throughout their dishes and kabobs are tasteless and tough. Everything was authentic, delicious and spiced perfectly. 100% authentic, and all of the meat was juicy and marinaded to the T. The only dish I would say I wouldn't have again is the Lamb Biryani. The biryani didn't look or taste like any biryani I've ever had before and it tasted just completely not like a biryani. The food was always consistently delicious, you could order the same thing, and it was always tasty. Sadly, I haven't been here in a couple years and just recently I came back, and the food was just OK. Very watery, less flavor, kind of bland, even a bit over cooked. I was so excited and then, pretty disappointed. I will say that one positive is that their prices are still very affordable as always.
