No. I came here because it had good reviews. The restaurant was empty when I arrived there was one other table of guest. I ordered samosas and I thought an entree... the man even verified my order. The samosas come out fairly quickly. And yeah no. They were not good. Definitely fried in old oil and are store bought not made fresh. Because I was hungry and had traversed the cold and feces all over the place to come here I ate the samosas despite them not being great. Anyrate, the biggest issues was I had ordered samosas and an entree. After about 25 mins and me having to flag down the server the man comes to my table and I ask where the rest of my food was. He exclaims oh you ordered something else... I almost cursed. I requested my ticket and left. What an utter waste of time and a poor experience with poor food. Don't come here. read more

I'm not going to call myself an expert on Indian Food. I know how to stay in my lane. But I'll tell you what, this was some high level tastiness and honestly some super unique flavors. With the pakora, the sauces and butter chicken there is some serious spice, herbs, floral aroma, I don't know how to say it. You get so many layers of flavors that I think are unique to Indian food. The garlic naan was like the best I've had. Let's not skip over that. The Samosa and the pakora were super salty and fried perfectly. The butter chicken was nice too of course but it didn't make me want to call my friends about it. Mango Lassie was just okay. Too much yogurt flavor and not enough in the excess sweetness for me. All in all, I think this place is a serious gem. There are a plethora of Indian places in the tenderloin area. Is this the best of them? I have no clue. I've got a lot of research to do. Little Delhi is an Indo Nepalese restaurant. The food was tasty and spicy as expected. Both the food and the vibe of the restaurant give an authentic feeling. The service was quick and the server was friendly. We ordered momos, bhindi masala, paneer tikka masala, garlic naan, butter naan and roti. The food came with rice, it was pretty satisfying. So I've eaten here before some years ago and I went back last night I did get it via Uber eats. I tried their dumplings which I never seen on an Indian menu before and I queried my Indian friends who are not aware of them either but what the heck I tried it. I can say I won't order those again but they had some flavor to them I got lamb vindaloo the vindaloo sauce was outstanding and about 60% of the Lamb was very tender and delicious the rest of it was just a bit chewy. I'll definitely go back but I might order myself as opposed to using Uber eats not sure that that makes any difference and it shouldn't but between first time and second time was a big difference. read more

Review for takeout: Hands down, this is the best place to get Indian food. I always order from here because there's a good balance of spices and cream. My typical order includes Chicken Tikka Masala, Sagg Paneer & Lamb Vindaloo with a side of Basmati rice/garlic naan. I get all of the dishes Spicy so if you like it really spicy I would go with extra spicy. Their level of spice is pretty manageable if you eat spicy regularly. If you want to try an appetizer, I highly recommend the Samosas! Fried to crisp perfection and goes well with the curries too. For drinks, I always get the Mango Lassi which is a thick yogurt drink. All of this food puts me in food coma but so worth it!! read more

This used to be my favorite place for Indian delivery via Uber. Lack of protein: Over the past 2 years, this restaurant has decreased the amount of protein they include in their curries and biryanis. I received a chicken tikka masala today that had 5 pieces of chicken in it and 8oz of sauce! There's not enough rice in the world to balance out the amount of sauce you get. This place is playing in my face with the lack of meat. I usually add my own grilled chicken to the mix because there's not enough chicken for one serving of this entree, let alone the two its supposed to provide. The image I uploaded is one serving of the tikka over 1/2 cup of rice. It's tikka masala soup. Smdh. The flavor profile of this dish is why I continue to order it, but with the price of food these days and the upcharge from Uber, I'm done. Garlic naan: this used to be amazing. The past 6 months, it's been undercooked. Samosa: These used to be fire but lately, they're mid. 5 times out of 10, the restaurant doesn't include the chutney and tamarind sauces. read more

Came here late on a Friday evening. Close to our hotel. Not too ma y people in there. Didn't matter. We were hungry. Got seated and ordered quickly. Three Thalis (2 chicken curries and 1 vegetarian). Chicken Korma dinner too. This place exceeded my expectations. Tamarind and mint chutney with the samosas were soooooo goooood. Chicken was tender, not over cooked. Flavors were balanced. Nice North Indian style cuisine. Our friends enjoyed it. Looks like President Clinton did too back in the day. I'm pretty sure you will too. The chai was ok. I'm a harsh critic because I make it at home from scratch. Also, they served the chai in a glass cup without handles. Umm. HOT. Oh well. Cant get everything that you want. My wife and I have been stopping by here since 2006. It was sad to learn that there was a change in ownership a year ago after ordering food from here. This is the third Indian spot that we have loved and it was sold. I do not agree with taking over a restaurant, keeping the same Yelp account and changing how everything is made. The change may be good or they may be bad but us folks that have been coming here for a long time expect the same food that was here before the change in ownership. SF and Oakland born and raised, and I have tried a multitude of Indian/South Asian restaurants around SF and the East Bay. I also lived in London (UK) for a few years while I earned a BA, where I tried many of what are arguably the best (westernized) Indian/South Asian restaurants the world over. In the UK, food from that region is as Mexican and South/Central American food is to us here in the US--as much a part of our own culture's cuisine as... apple pie and whatnot. With that in mind, and IMHO, Little Delhi is--hands-down--one of the very best Indian food spots on offer in our beautiful SF Bay Area. Check it out. read more

Happy to find this restaurant close to Union Square. Eat in and take out options are available along with your usual delivery app services. I ordered take out but the restaurant is clean and the staff attentive. The decor was a bit lacking but the food more then makes up for the ambiance. I ordered Butter Chicken, white meat, spicy, vegetable bahji, rice, and 2 plain naan. The butter chicken was tender, flavorful and spiced perfectly. This dish is in my top 5 Indian food experiences. Simply superb. Naan was cooked as expected and was a perfect accompaniment to the chicken dish. The vegetable bahji was excellent and the tamarind chutney was also very good. All in all a top notch meal. Be aware, there is active homeless activity in front of and by the restaurant for those that are sensitive to this. read more

We have ordered delivery from this place about 4 times. After tonight, even though our order was severely delayed (fault of Uber Eats, complete with "we're sorry, this rarely happens" messages from the app) I am compelled to write a glowing review. Even though our order tonight was at least 50 minutes late, again no fault of the restaurant, I was totally blown away by the quality. Samosas: amazing, interesting flavors. Packed with tasty potatoes and the usual fillings but something different about these. The green sauce is actually spicy as opposed to most other places. 10 Butter chicken: I ordered it spicy and it was perfect. Nice slow burn but not over the top and the sauce was creamy and perfect. On par with Amber India and that's saying something. 10 Garlic Naan - Suffered a bit from the delay in our order and travel time but still warm. Nice and chewy and nice garlic notes throughout; not a garlic bomb and nicely done. 9 Daal (yellow) - as with the butter chicken and as they advertise, nice, beautiful spices woven throughout that you don't find in most other Indian places. Very tasty and enjoyable. 9.5 Paneer Tikka Masaala (as reported from the wife who ordered it) - spiced just right, nice and creamy. 9 Paratha - Well done, nice wheat alternative to naan. 10 I am very happy with this place and can't wait to order again. read more

We ordered our usuals of butter chicken, chicken korma, and chicken tikka masala and it was really watery, sweet, and lacking flavor. The gulab jamun was also inedible - the syrup reeked of alcohol so not sure what happened. The garlic naan was good and well seasoned. We ordered chicken biryani , chicken tikka masala , garlic naan and prawn biryani. Food Biryani was so good. We loved the prawns biryani more than the chicken biryani. Tikka masala was also very good. The perfect amount of spice and generally I restrain from ordering naans for home delivery because they dry out by the time we eat if but this naan was so soft. Quantity The biryani quantity looked small at first but after pouring out in containers we realized it's a lot. Tikka masala was also good quantity wise. We got it delivered to San Bruno area and they took 1 hr to deliver. It was little more than we expected but food was good so it was alright. New owners and food is completely different :( :( My family and I were arguing over the(significant imo) differences between Butter chicken and Chicken tikka masala and why it was imperative that we order one of each. Little Delhi used to have the BEST chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. Sadly now they taste the same-bland, overly sweet, watered down and tomatoey. Garlic naan was still delicious and maybe even more garlicky. Momo's are a nice addition and tasted pretty good. HARD PASS on Gulab Jamun-i took 1 bite and gagged. It tasted like it was overly soaked in an alcoholic liquor like pure vanilla extract. I hope it was just a bad batch and not what they normally taste like. Hope that they are able to work the kinks out and fix their recipes...or get the old chef back! read more

I ordered food from this restaurant using uber eats. Food is way overpriced for it's quality, quantity and taste overall. The restaurant has incorrect descriptions of items on Uber eats and switch the items in order without intimating the customer. I ordered $7 raita that was sent in the size of a side dip. What to say. New owners butchered a great business. I don't mind price increases especially in light of 2020-2023. But please don't water down the curry (disgusting) and increase the prices at the same time. I would have gladly paid $18.99 for CTM where before it was $11/12.99. The girl on the floor (only employee I can see) was nice and apologetic. I still left 20% of the subtotal (not 20% of the total like they have it, says a lot when a business bases it off the total vs subtotal because it's totally within their control and why should people pay tip on taxes?!). I love Little Delhi. Their coconut based Veggie Korma is fantastic. I remember getting their korma at a work lunch awhile back and I was blown away by how tasty it was, the array of fresh vegetables within it, and even more excited that it didn't contain dairy. My smile was wide as I hungrily finished the whole dish. My husband is also a big fan of Little Delhi. He loves their fried okra and Chicken Tikka Masala. My favorite aspect of Little Delhi is how it's survived throughout the years in SF. I believe they've been around since 1988. That's incredible for an SF restaurant. During that time - they've always been reliable, their staff - hard working - and their food - delicious. I can feel the passion for their restaurant in their E-mail newsletters (which I've been a recipient of for awhile) and in the ways that they've pivoted during this crazy time. They really care and they really care about staying part of the San Francisco food scene. There are a slew of Indian restaurants in the Bay Area - but very few that have been around as long as Little Delhi. They've perfected their dishes - and they're a true family run business. First time trying this spot and got it delivered, but even with travel time it was super hot and is absolutely delicious! I didn't get naan so that's what I had in the freezer, and I actually forgot to order rice with this and then they still put some in the bag for me really appreciated that gesture and it saved my dinner! We stopped here for a quick family dinner. We could find the parking easily and our place to dine choice was quite dependable on nearby parking availability. This place seems to be a popular amongst yelpers. Prompt seating and service. The staff was attentive and warm. Got complimentary papadums with cilantro and tamarind chutney. This place has good seating and is bright, clean and open style decor. The prices are reasonably as well. Our servers recommendation was baigan bharta which I found to be 3* preparation. Couldn't taste eggplant that well. Mushroom curry was what a surprise! 5* for the deliciousness and was freshly prepared. Malai kofta was 3.75* taste. All the breads were tasty. Paneer kulcha was quite good 4.5*. Alu paratha was good too. Over all food experience wise 3.5* and on other aspects this deserves good 4*. read more

This used to be the best Indian food place. The food was rich and unique. With the new management, the food is now run of the mill. I could just as easily have eaten at any watered down Indian restaurant. The menu is smaller, but that doesn't mean they put their effort into making sure the food was better. I instantly felt like something was different when we came in. It didn't have the same smell, the people were different, and there was hardly anyone there. I know it's been over a year since they've opened and the old management is probably gone for good, but I wish they would come back. read more
