The food doesn't lend itself super well to food truck fare because it's not good finger food. For that reason we took it home to eat. Pretty diverse menu from food truck staples (chicken tikka masala) to food truck rarities (pani puri) and even some innovations (CTM loaded fries). While I didn't get to try the whole menu, what I ordered was a mixed experience. The pani puri was nice, but I'd probably skip the chicken leg next time. Lahori Chargha Hot Chicken: For $15, this felt lacking. It was a medium-sized chicken leg quarter, iceberg lettuce salad mix from a bag and naan. Some raw onions or chutneys sauces would have been nice. Or maybe a veggie side dish (saag?) instead of bagged salad. The menu even mentioned mint yogurt raita, but it was no where to be found. The chicken was ok, tender but kinda mild, especially considering it's billed as hot chicken. Gol Gappey aka Pani Puri: This was a rare find for a food truck. I like how it was a do-it-yourself setup instead of pre-filled puri. Kinda satisfying cracking a hole in the little puri then scooping in the nicely spiced chickpeas and potatoes. The cup of spiced tamarind water was fun too, a great way to add some moisture and extra flavor to the puri shell. Much more exciting that the typical samosa appetizer. read more

I saw their truck on top of the Presidio Tunnel Tops on Sunday, and was interested in trying the Kashmiri pink chai since I haven't seen it offered at most restaurants. They were almost out, but fortunately had enough left for me to order it. It tasted quite sweet and I feel the selection of spices tasted good with the drink. I had opted to add almond and pistachio which is optional, but I think it was a good choice since it made it taste almost like I was drinking baklava. I've had the Samosa when I need a little crunch, the Tikka is a flavorful classic, and the fusion wrap fun when you want something a little different! Stumbled upon this Pakistani food truck while checking out tunnel tops park. It was a chilly, windy day so we were hoping to score some chai but unfortunately they were all out. The friendly truck owner convinced us to try the chapli burger and boy we did not regret it! The patty was so flavorful and came topped with a perfectly spiced sauce. Honestly, they deserve no less than 5 stars if you were to go by the food alone. We went to visit them when they were in Crissy Fields on the morning of Christmas Day but parking was surprisingly easy. The halwa poori sabji platter was simply divine. They serve two kinds of curries - one with potatoes (aloo) and another one with garbanzo (chana). The burger was possibly one of the best I've ever had, along with the fries which were incredibly crispy on the outside but nicely cooked inside. They are probably taking a short break and will return in the spring but do follow their social media handles for the latest updates. Very highly recommended. read more

In August, Lahore di Khushboo Food Truck officially announced its opening day. Since we live close to SF so for us, this was a piece of big news because mainly Pakistani or Indian authentic food places are in the east bay or the South bay. This is a woman-owned business which means you can expect women's touch family recipes and their constant efforts to bring food quality better and better.Also I loved when I saw her kids are helping her out. Everyone was so nice. Besides the food going to the city is always fun, and the city ambiance helped out of towner to enjoy the food with the city touch. Since it was the first day so I saw long lines, and that was understandable. We ordered their chicken biryani, chicken chargha, chapli kabobs, and their signature Falooda. I started with Biryani, and the first bite says it all. The taste and the aroma of homemade food put a smile on my face. It's a women-owned business and Shumaila was so gracious and kind when we were ordering. She wanted to make sure if we I needed anything else. It's like we are sitting in her home dining room area and she is traditionally serving her guests. Meanwhile, in the background live jazz blues music on the street was creating unforgettable happiness. Like I said the owner Shumaila was very kind and down-to-earth person. Now Lahore Di Khushboo Food Truck has two locations, Friday and Saturday, on Valencia street in SF. Thursday and Sunday at the Chrissy field with the view of GG bridge. Got the weekday lunch in front of Salesforce tower from the truck. Got the tikka masala rice bowl. Very average lunch and seemed overpriced for some rice and a lot of curry. The curry itself didn't taste anything like tikka masala, was very tangy like canned tomatoes and the chicken seemed to be added later to the curry. Being a chai lover....or what I THOUGHT was chai....had my mind blown by the Kashmiri chai served here at Lahore di kushboo. This chai is on the savory side, not that cloying sweet chai you get at big chains. This is a pink chai and made with salt & baking soda with a scoop of crushed almonds....lending a taste you've never had in chai before. I've become so addicted to it, I follow the truck from place to place just to get my fix. You won't experience this anywhere else that I'm aware of and worth searching out the truck for! We recognized this truck from a brief segment on Check Please Bay Area. We were so glad we finally had a chance to try them as the food here is amazing. We always go for the halwa puri. The chickpeas and potato curries are so flavorful and way better than anything you get at Viks Chaat in Berkeley. We wish we could just order them separately!
