I went here with two friends for a late lunch. It was super! I had a cheese chile relleno and a veggie enchilada. The chile relleno was phenomenal, the best I have had ever. The jalapeno cream sauce is the one to pick hands down! I asked about it and the waiter brought me some to try. They had free queso the day we went. Love, love, love Chuy's! The food is always consistently good. Don't let 2 star reviews about thin chips or 1 star reviews about servers being busy deter you from checking out this gem. Yep, the chips are thin. They are crispy and amazing that way. Yep, the servers are very busy. They recently opened and that tends to happen with new restaurants. My only gripe, and it is a small one, is no draft beer. But they have a great selection of Mexican and local beers. They even have some of that yellow water with bud or coors on it if that's your thing. Great service from the bar. Not much of a liquor drinker but the wife loves their skinny margaritas. This place is great if you like Tex-Mex. We ate there at lunch today. Everyone who worked there was really nice and seemed to be in a great mood, almost like they actually like their jobs. We started with the Chile Con Queso (YUMMY) our main entrees were the lunch combo #3 and salad/quesadillas combo. Everything was very tasty. The only thing missing is a good hot sauce. Really, really bad service. We asked for a drink menu...never got one. Had no idea how the "nacho bar" worked...and were never told. Also took a really long time to place our order. Before getting our food...we were SURE that we wouldn't be back. But...we got the food...and it was actually pretty good! We started in the dinning area, So loud we moved to the bar area. 20 mins to get a drink with three bar tenders standing around joking with each other's. Had to ask for full size napkins with our dinner. Wow I have not seen sliver ware in those little paper wrappers in year. (Low class). I think the real problem is I never saw a manager or anyone that looked in charged. All employees had to be under 25 and they all were having a better time then the customers. Came on Father's Day around 5 pm. We were sat immediately. We ordered the guacamole appetizer. It was good but at the bottom it was all lettuce which we all found strange for an appetizer guacamole. I ordered the Tex mex salad combo with a deluxe quesadilla. The quesadillas were two tiny quesadillas but they were good. Service was good, not excellent. Am visiting from Florida and went to dinner at this Chuys in Charlotte, NC. I see these restaurants everywhere but haven't eaten at them. The hostess was not friendly at all which gave a bad first impression, however the waitress was very friendly and catered to all of our needs efficiently. The food was great and the sauces were amazing. The waitress gave plenty of sauce and even offered some to try with the chips. $5 margaritas are a great deal as the other drinks were a little pricy. read more

We come to Chuy's all the time! Our all time favorite server is Cam- he's just fantastic and really should be the first pick for a restaurant manager or training manager because he's fabulous. The food is always good - our go to selections are the ponchos nachos or chicken fantastic and the stacked enchiladas are also really good. Arnold palmers are great also. read more

Excellent spot for tex-mex selections! The salsa is fresh and the chips are warm. Great drinks, laid back atmosphere and great customer service. The wait was not to long for a Tuesday evening on Valentines Day. We waited for less than 20 minutes. The food came out hot. The drinks were great! They also offer drink specials through the week. My daughter fro Texas gritted her teeth - the Chooy's there is awful but this was a different spelling and surprisingly good. There were 7 adults, a 2 year old and a baby. But service was prompt and accurate. We could have been given a third table which would have helped. The guacamole was especially good. It was a combination of pieces of avocado plus mashed, allowing the 3 colors of avocado to shine through. It was not overly spiced and they added chopped tomato on top rather than stir it through which meant it was not watered down. There was a jalapeno dip that was excellent and not too spicy too. I've been a fan of Chuy's for a few years now. I first discovered it in Orlando, and was so impressed that I went twice in my week long vacation. So once I heard there was one coming to Charlotte, I was ecstatic. I've been to this location a few times and it was average but tonight was horrible. It started off great, no wait, and the host and hostess were super friendly. The waitress came over quickly and was friendly as well. She kept our chips and salsa, along with our drink cups filled. But after this party came in beside us, it was as if we didn't exist. Our drinks didn't get filled, our requests weren't delivered and we waited, and waited. The table beside us had all of their needs met and all of ours were just forgotten. A member at my table asked for lemons to go with her water twice, I asked for Togo boxes twice, and we said we needed to place a Togo order repeatedly. Once we finally got our bills there was an error and she changed our bill AFTER we had given her our card. I understand completely fixing the error, but please inform me before you change something on my bill when you have my card in your possession. A member at our table gave cash as payment, and she gave her the incorrect change back. It seemed that there was just issue after issue with the service, which is a shame because the food was fantastic. The food is ultimately what kept me coming back all of these years, and the reason this restaurant is getting 2 stars instead of 1. read more
