Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Enchiladas! Refried beans and green Chile rice.

We love Chuy's! The chips and dip and queso are always on point. We always discuss trying something other than the chicka chicka Boom boom enchiladas, but why mess with perfection? I will have the soup if it ever gets cold though. Or servers are always friendly and helpful, which makes it fun.

This was our family's first time dining here, and it was a great experience. We stopped by around 5 PM for dinner, and service was excellent. We ordered their Chuychanga, Chicken Flautas, and Taco & Enchilada Combo. While we were waiting for our order, we were pleasantly surprised by their free chips, salsa, and creamy jalapeño dip. These chips were so light, crispy, and delicious! Their dining rooms are decorated brightly and fun. We enjoyed our food and the service, and will definitely be back!

Chips and Queso at Chuy's in Gainesville, FL

Chuy's hit the spot--saucy, satisfying, and made for sauce lovers. Bold, big portions, and super chill dinner. We came in expecting a good meal--and that's exactly what we got. We started with thin, crunchy chips and an array of daily house-made sauces that honestly deserve their own spotlight. Chuy's really shines with its sauce selection. Most are complimentary (a few cost an extra buck or two), and they're worth trying. Next-level bold sauces/dips--way better than your average queso--and many included with the meal. Current favorite? The creamy green chile sauce. I needed a drink for thirsty Thursday after work relaxation. I went for the Large Tumbler (Texas-sized) Paloma, which came with a sparkly pink rim dusted in Tajin. Made with Blanco tequila, grapefruit, ruby red vodka served with a lime--it was tangy, salty, citrusy, and refreshing. For my main, I went with the "Big As Yo' Face" Burritos, choice-stuffed with fajita chicken, refried beans, and cheese. I paid the extra $2 for their Boom-Boom sauce, and no regrets there--it was gooey, flavorful, and just totally smothered over the big burrito. The Mexican rice was bland, but it didn't matter. My partner ordered the Green Chile Relleno Combo, which I finished. It was the fried chile relleno stuffed - Hatch Chili with chicken and cheese. This was fried, heavily breaded, and a delicious spicy kick. Soo good. We sat at the bar, which wasn't too busy--service was chill and attentive, which kept us away from all the busy areas of the location.

Today i decided to try the veggie enchiladas but added chicken since I needed more protein intake for my day. They were amazing. The ranchero sauce is something I'm new to but it balanced everything perfectly . The bran and rice portion was very generous and I had to take half of my meal home because I go full pretty quickly. Service was speedy even though it was packed.

It's an interesting theme to this place. It's a mix of old diner with Mexican food. The service was quick and they have fun drinks on the menu. The food are huge portions but overall good experience but can be overwhelming!

Service for lunch outstanding. No wait. Coke products with Coke Zero Thank you!!! Home made chips Home made pique Home made white cream jalapeño sauce for chips very unique - imagine a spicy ranch. Paper straws suck! Actually they don't suck which is why they suck! Ambiance is fun - casual but date night worthy. I opted for the steak burrito in the deluxe tomateo sauce. I choose well. Wish they had black beans to offer as a side but all in all great food great value great experience!

I went with a party of 15 people. It was challenging to get the tables together, but the staff was very helpful. They gave us free chips with queso and pico de Gallo. They were amazing! They were refilling our chips with warmer every time. I ordered the chuychanga with the tex mex sauce. It was big and flavorful. The texture mex sauce was spicy, and all together was perfect! I also try a bit of the soft tacos with steak. The steak was very tasty with a nice grill flavor. Unfortunately, hours after eating, I got a stomachache, but I did not last a long time.

Chuy's always has great food, especially enchiladas! Our server was very friendly and attentive, and even brought out a water bowl for my dog. The outdoor seating area was really nice. I'd definitely come back and it's a great dog friendly restaurant!

It's not the first time in this place, but since Chuys opened in Gainesville years ago, I always go often. The food is very tasty and delicious. They serve a lot for the price, and even though princesa went up after Covi19, the quality has not changed, which is why I always come back. Additionally, the employees are very friendly, and everything is very clean. But unfortunately, something happened today that made me think. When we finished eating, as we almost always do, we asked for chips and salsa to go. And the waitress brought me a bag , and it was for me to put the chips that I had left, I'm confused, and then she brings the creamy jalapeño. When I saw the receipt, I realized that they charged me for the sauce, and then I got more confused. You will wonder why, because in the many years eating at this place, this is the first time that they have charged me $2.80 for 4oz of sauce, and they bring me a bag to take the chips that I had left on the table. The economy is bad there, that they have to charge for something, which differentiates them from the other Texmec restaurants. I'm just thinking. Well, that's is not something that is going to influence me so that I do not go back again. Because they anyway have the best creamy jalapeño sauce, what I think is they should not charge for it.

The number of a stars would be much higher if we like hot food more. The place really doesn't have a place for mild tastebuds.

When is the nacho bar open?

Never. It was closed during Covid and the restaurant is able to save money by not bringing it back.

The chicken nachos and chorizo queso were great starters. I ordered the Ginger margarita based on the raving reviews by my co-workers, even though it was not a special. And, it did not disappoint! Our bartender was fantastic and kept all of our orders straight. The hostess walked us upstairs to our reserved table for 10. The view across the restaurant was grand, but lively atmosphere and the high ceilings contributed to the challenge of carrying on a conversation. I could only talk with those who were seated close by. Shane was our server for the night, engaged with us, and kept the drinks flowing. We ordered a number of Deluxe fajita platters with massive amounts of steak and chicken. Both meats were grilled and seasoned perfectly. Copious amounts of tortillas and the fajita fixins. I really enjoyed the charred jalapeño and mushrooms. I ordered the chicken Al Carbón tacos, and enjoyed the complementary flavors of the smoked onions and the salsa cremosa. With both of these great tasing dishes, I wished I had a larger stomach! NOTES Outside seating is available (for nicer weather) and there's plenty of parking. The only downside of the night? The food took a long time to get to our table.

The correct address from Google Maps is the same street number, 15070 US-301, but in Starke, which is 11 miles north of the Waldo address. We arrived around 3:30 on a Saturday, aware that their listed closing time is 5:30, but willing to give it a try. There were quite a few meats and sides scratched off the board - it's necessary to plan a day's cook conservatively so there is less waste at the end of each day. It can't be easy to put so many choices on the board with the tight margins restaurants work with. But there were still several things I wanted to try. I got a 2 meat platter with lamb chops and sliced pork with green beans and brussel sprouts for sides. The wife got a pulled pork sandwich and waffle fries. The soda machines were all out, but the teas and lemonades were just fine for us. The portions were really generous. And the meats were all really good. Lamb chops (3) were fork tender. Pork slices (4) needed a knife, but I was expecting that. Her sandwich was easily 1/3 to 1/2 lb of meat. Really tasty. And the sides - green beans were well done and flavorful - southern style obviously. The brussel sprouts were very nicely crisped with a sweet dressing on them. Really good. And the fries were properly GBD. Two sauces - a pretty sweet mustard sauce and a tangy red - maybe half way between Kansas sweet and Carolina vinegar. Both really good, but none of the meats really required sauce. Looking at other reviews it seems they change up the menu pretty often. But I'd definitely stop back in, maybe earlier in the day, to see how the brisket tastes. Or just to see what the choices are for that day. Everything we tried was great, so I'd be willing to try whatever else they offer.
