To be honest, the price tag kept us away for a long time. BUT it was so worth it. We had great service - everyone was helpful and kind from beginning to end. I tried the agua Fresca which was a strawberry mint that was so delicious. It was so well balanced and not overly sweet. My husband had a couple cocktails and enjoyed them both. The long work day ended for my colleagues and me, and the fun began at Superica. We arrived a bit early for our reservations but not too late to indulge in some Happy Hour specials. The chicken nachos and chorizo queso were great starters. I ordered the Ginger margarita based on the raving reviews by my co-workers, even though it was not a special. And, it did not disappoint! Our bartender was fantastic and kept all of our orders straight. The hostess walked us upstairs to our reserved table for 10. The view across the restaurant was grand, but lively atmosphere and the high ceilings contributed to the challenge of carrying on a conversation. I could only talk with those who were seated close by. Shane was our server for the night, engaged with us, and kept the drinks flowing. We ordered a number of Deluxe fajita platters with massive amounts of steak and chicken. Both meats were grilled and seasoned perfectly. Copious amounts of tortillas and the fajita fixins. I really enjoyed the charred jalapeño and mushrooms. I ordered the chicken Al Carbón tacos, and enjoyed the complementary flavors of the smoked onions and the salsa cremosa. Came for the first time for dinner last night and everything was wonderful! Our server was super helpful and everything came out pretty quick. The restaurant is neat with super high ceilings and there was plenty of seating when we arrived. They have lazy susans on the table to make it easier for sharing. They provided complimentary chips and salsa (with two kinds of salsa and thin, tasty tortilla chips.) I especially loved the queso and the quesadilla was super unique and more like tacos that were extra crispy. They also provide unlimited rice and beans and even gave us extra to take home. Superica is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants! Not only are the chips gluten free in a dedicated gluten free fryer but the salsa is warm and amazing. They serve the sides family style (huge portions) and the servers were very knowledgeable to allergy needs. I love their shrimp tacos they aren't overly spicy but have a great Smokey flavor. I made a reservation for a Thursday night and the host was nice enough to ask if we wanted inside or outside. Our waiter came to our table immediately. He asked if we were celebrating anything special and I did mention my friend's birthday was the next day. Throughout the entire meal, service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive, very personable, warm and quick. They provide unlimited chips and four different salsas. The chips are crispy, thin and delicious. We had such a great night at Superica! From the moment we sat down, Shane took incredible care of us -- super attentive, great energy, and spot-on recommendations. We started with the guacamole, which was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Pro tip: if you're not in the mood for super spicy, ask for the serrano peppers on the side. It lets you control the heat without missing out on the flavor. The hibiscus margaritas with a tajín rim were absolutely next level -- sweet, tangy, with just the right kick from the tajín. For dinner, I had the beef picadillo enchiladas and WOW. So rich, flavorful, and completely satisfying. We ate way more than we planned and left happily stuffed. I ate there once a year or so ago with a friend. $50 for fajitas for 2 was pretty steep. Not that great. Sauce was extremely salty and I love salt. The chips were very unevenly salted too and when I politely mentioned both to the server, she launched into "I ain't never heared that before". The best fajitas in town! The steak is incredibly tender and has amazing flavor. The housemade flour tortillas are an excellent pairing along with the array of salsas provided. The staff was very accommodating and made me a hibiscus mojito as I am not a fan of grapefruit. Servers are also very attentive and consistently checkup on everyone. Super-duper Superica! So, as someone who eats out frequently in the Winter Park area, I was pleasantly shocked to find out a seemingly "new" Mexican restaurant popped up in my area. We ventured in tonight and found the interior so lovely and fun, filled with nods to vintage western decor and stuffed real animals. It has a real Tex Mex feel. The menu is full of really lovely options, priced a little above average, but worth it for the unique presentation and option. I ordered nachos with queso as an appetizer. My hubs got the spicy shrimp cocktail and the chili burger (hamburgesa). The kid got hard tacos. They served a variety of salsas and beans and rice come family style on a lazy Susan in the middle of the table. I also loved that they had a mocktail menu for January. We have walked past Superica several times, and this time we are so happy we ventured in. The restaurant is really spacious and it is noce that the tables are not on top of each other. We grabbed seats at the bar and were quickly greeted by one of the friendly bartenders. We looked at the Brunch menu which has several great options but decided to get some tacos instead. We orderd both shrimp and chicken tacos which both had great flavor. The rice and refied beans were alos very good. We really enjoyed this spot in Winter Park! My reasoning for 4 stars is only because of the cocktails. In my opinion, they're incredibly pricey for what you get and they also weren't anything special as far as taste. Other than that, the atmosphere is nice and the service was good. The free chips and salsa was great with two different salsa options. My husband and I shred the burger and chicken enchiladas, both were good but the "Hamburguesa" was the star of the show! I can't believe I have written a review about Superica yet. I have been here on 3 different occasions.. twice for dinner and once for brunch. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. My friend has a dairy allergy and our server helped her navigate which dishes she can safely have, including modifications on dishes that the culinary staff can make. Our meal started out with complimentary, homemade tortilla chips and two types of salsa - one green and one red - both delicious! The red salsa was served warm, which was something I hasn't experienced before. We also chose to order the table side guacamole, which was equally delicious! For my entree, I ordered the chicken enchiladas suizas. The dish overall was great - beautiful presentation, flavorful chicken and sauces, soft tortillas and sauces that perfectly complimented the dish. All entrees come with "family style" rice (you can choose either white rice or Spanish-style rice) and beans (refried in beef tallow or black beans). I am a huge fan of the brand (see previous Superica reviews in Atlanta and Nashville) but this store cannot seem to consistently get it together. We walked in, knew what wanted and ordered. We had to ask manager for chips, grab our own silverware from another table. Not a single food quality check during our meal. No refills on drinks. Superica has been in heavy rotation for us for both dinner and brunch to the point where the managers know us and are happy to see us everytime we come in. I'm obsessed with their Agua Fresca of the Day, it's perfect on these overly hot summer days. The chips and salsa are incredible, with freshly made salsa and I really love the roasted Smokey and warm salsa. It's a must. The nachos for starter are so yummy. You can add chicken or picadillo but I'm fine with just the beans and cheese and adding sour cream and guac. The classic cheese enchiladas with chili sauce and white onion are absolutely perfection, paired with rice and beans. The deluxe fajitas for 4 is so much food for $89. Chicken, steak, shrimp, and the flour tortillas are made in house and simply the best tortillas. We always ask for more to take home and use. Our server Haley B was very good at keeping our My best friend has annual plan and she takes her mom to the shows which are set up. The Harry Potter one was one of them and she invited me to that one. The chips are served warm with 2 hot sauces and 2 salsas. I could enjoy the salsa verde forever. All of their drinks are made with fresh juices. Most of the stars are for the service as well as the queso and the rice. I wasn't a big fan of the green enchilada I ordered. These were probably the smallest enchiladas I've ever had in my life. You could've combined both of my enchiladas and made one regular sized enchilada. But the chicken inside was actually very good. We also got the ground beef tacos and we were not a fan of the fried corn tortillas. I don't know if they're made traditionally, but they had a really bad taste, and they only tasted good if they were eaten with all the ingredients of the taco. So picking up a piece of just a corn tortilla and putting it in your mouth would be the worst mistake of your life. The rice was the star of the show. It had red and green peppers and had a slight kick. The queso had cilantro on top, was thick, not too hot, and very tasty. They also have Mexican sprite and squirts which we got one of each. The service was prompt and fast and we had a good time. The bill was about $75 for two people and for the amount of food that we received (this included the free chips), and the fact that they comped one of my drinks. I don't think I would be back. I've been to Superica a few times. I feel every time I go it's better than the last time. This visit we were going to share a few items and asked the waiter for his input. He actually steered us away from a higher priced item suggesting that the other items we were considering would go together better. I love that. When the staff knows the menu and its options and tries to help customers get a great experience instead of trying to upsell them. Of course, the food tasted great. I will say that a few pieces of the steak were on the chewy side. So, I ended up preferring the chicken (we'll probably get chicken fajitas next time instead of the mix). I was surprised with the quality of food and drinks at this restaurant. I had a reservation for a Saturday night. When I arrived, it was pretty crowded and social. I arrived early, and the hostess apologized that my table wasn't ready yet, so she asked me to wait. However, there are seats at the bar that was full service, so I was invited to sit there. My bartender suggested the popular ginger margarita (11 dollars). It was shaken to perfection and it was tasty. The ginger flavor was strong and almost tasted like a Moscow mule, but with tequila instead. The tequila was also pretty strong enough to give me a couple buzzes. Chips and salsa were given as well, and they came pretty hot and fresh. I knew I was in for some good food after tasting the well made chips and really good salsa. I ordered a mix of verde and suiza enchiladas (19.5 dollars), which came with rice and beans. Everything came separately, because the enchiladas took a whole plate. I tasted the Suiza enchiladas, and it had a burst of flavor. It's hard to describe, but it really made my taste buds happy. When I ate it with the Spanish rice, I then noticed some heat. My mouth was tingling with some spices and pepper. I felt the burn, and loved it. I think it must have came from the rice. The refried beans was also amazing. It looked creamy and was topped with cheese. I normally don't like beans, but this one was so good to resist. I was full after one enchilada, so I took the verde one home. I did that a bite of it, and it was just as amazing as the suiza. With all the great food, I had to do dessert. The tres leches (9 dollars), was the popular one. It looked beautiful when it came, but I was a bit worried the cake would have crumbled with all the milk sauce that was there. Nope, it was so moist that the cake soaked in the milky flavors from the sauce, making me going mmmm. It was light enough for me to finish, and I should have drank all that delicious milk sauce from the bottom. I tried my best, but I got too full. For a Tex-Mex restaurant, I was surprised with the great quality of food and drinks. The service was excellent here. My bartender provided great suggestions, and was so helpful. Management also came to check up with the diners. I was happy that I asked whether the beans were vegetarian, and they told me it had pork. So they were so nice to give me black beans (pure vegetarian) to go so my mom can enjoy. I was also given a coupon for a free pancake when visiting for brunch. The people here are very social, but not too loud. The wall was showing a college football game, and there was some seating upstairs too. Gender neutral bathrooms were available, and were ok. The soap in the bathroom smelled very nice though. For a Tex-Mex restaurant that came from a chain, I was honestly expecting just above average food that dims down the spices for the people who can't handle the heat. I was surely wrong. This is the best one I tried in Orlando so far, and even beats more authentic and good ones like Agave Azul. And even the prices are quite reasonable.
