First off our server was awesome. But all the staff around him not so good. We ordered Piña Colada's, they tasted like the lime margarita so we sent it back. Now with 3 bartenders behind the bar. I visited Chuy's in Kennesaw during my weekend trip back home in Georgia. It was during a day I set aside specifically for to-go orders; every meal I ate was a to-go order from a different restaurant. Chuy's was my last pick because I went for only one thing and one thing only: tres leches! Now to be clear, I have actually eaten at this restaurant. And each time I have been there it has been amazing. I love their nachos and burritos specifailly; they come loaded with all of the different toppings. And their cheese isn't white cheese, which normally I do not like, but theirs is soooo good! The tres leche cake is beyond amazing. They soak it in the sweet leche and they give you a HUMONGOUS piece! It is worth $7.64 I will tell you that. Since this is the south, there are plenty of Tex- Mex restaurants to choose from. We absolutely love this place. I come to the Atlanta area quite often and always make a stop at Chuy's. I posted on FB how much I liked it and wished there was one in South Florida. To my surprise there are THREE. How did I not know this??? Today I asked for a burrito that is not on the regular menu. The server, Shariece, was kind enough to check and see if it could be made. When she came back she told me "yes"! I was so excited. Well a few minutes later the manager, Javier, came and apologized. He took full responsibility for the mix up and brought me some of the steak they use in their burritos to taste. Then he brought another sauce for us to try because I had mentioned that I like spicy. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The food has always been good and fresh and the service at this location is excellent! I was headed up I75 and saw a billboard on I75 northbound for Chuy's Tex Mex. I hadnt heard of it, so the car went there! Finding any good Tex Mex or Mexican in Atlanta is plenty difficult but Im always on the look out. The place sits just below Costco and a hundred yards or so south. Its name and front door are on the east side so thats the side away from Barratt Pkwy. I went on a weekday afternoon, so it was not crowded. I ordered their comida #1 especial which is a combo dish. Enchiladas, taco, flautas, refried beans, and these half tostada like shells half covered with fake cheese goop. The verdict, fair, so heres three stars. I hate that fake cheese goop and I see they use it on several things here. I saw another diner with that all over a large burrito...oh no! I prefer a good red sauce sprinkled with real cheese and melted. Simple you would think, but so so hard to find in Georgia. Their chips are very light, and the taco shell very light. Maybe they make those in house as they do make many of their salsa's in house. The sauce over the enchiladas was maybe an attempt to do it right but it didnt come close. It looked and tasted like chile powder and water mixed. Believe me it takes a lot more than that! You need to add spices, garlic, and many more things depending on region or preference and then cook it slowly over low heat. This didnt seem to be cooked at all. Meh....we use to come here alot but Haven't been in awhile... I use to love this place but to be honest, something's changed.. place is still quite clean and the staff are very friendly.. BUT, the food quality seems to have dropped dramatically.... Also, they use to bring you this ranch type of dipping sauce which I guess they no longer have or forgot to bring us.. either way, we didn't get it... Plus, the food was ok but lacked the great flavor that it's had in the past... I got an $11 dollar burrito and it was just ok... My son who is very picky ate it ALL. I had to ask was it good or was this the starving struggling college student eating a fresh meal . Was surprised that the restaurant was empty on a Friday night, compared to how crowded the surrounding restaurant were. Attended a Business After Hours event with the West Cobb Business Association at this Chuy's on Barrett Parkway and it was a wonderful experience! First, the food at Chuy's is fantastic and a little different than the other Mexican Restaurants around town. They have flavors and combinations that I've never had at other Tex-Mex places and I really like them. Will be bringing my wife back here for dinner in the near future. Second, Chuy's provided generous amounts for food and appetizers for our group. Some places just put out the minimum to save a few bucks. Chuy's showed they wanted us to have a great time and remember them positively. And finally, our server was excellent. I found myself at Chuy's after an episode of Mexican food cravings! Let's be honest, I really had my heart set on the chips, queso & guacamole. The service was prompt & courteous and I received the obligatory chips & salsa to start. The chips were fresh & light; the salsa was also fresh & on the spicy side. I hadn't yet received my drink & my mouth was on fire!! When the queso arrived, I was disappointed to find the Velveeta-looking variety. I guess it had to grow on me & I finally decided it was tasty - it just wasn't what I had in mind. It definitely helped cool down the spice of the salsa! To counter my queso indulgence, I ordered a chicken salad. The salad was fresh & the chicken had a great char-grill flavor. The portion sizes were ample. Everything arrived quickly, making for a fast pit stop on my way back to Buckhead. Overall a pedestrian meal, but it hit the spot. Greeter ruined my experience but food is always good. We walked in and were seated immediately in a booth. It was cold so I had an overcoat which I wanted to put on seat behind me. There was one other couple in our dining area. There were four in our party. The greeter told me no, but did not try to answer my problem. No one was seated so I used the bench. I was angry and being a butthead, because I feel the customer comes first. When she seated the next couple in at the table behind me I picked up my coat. There were no other diners in our area but maybe she was filling a station. My suggestion to Chuy's: teach your service personnel to sell their no by offering a solution. We could have moved to a table where the chairs would have held our coats. (I should have asked if we could do that.) My first time at Chuy's in Kennesaw and I absolutely 100% will consider myself a repeat, repeat, repeat customer!! The Manager, Craig gave me a tour of this incredibly well decorated and fun restaurant, telling me the stories behind the Nacho Car and the Chihuahua Bar (such cool stories!). Craig took time with me, even though they were in a busy lunch hour. I really appreciated his time. Skyy was our waitress and was super attentive and kept our drinks filled and plates cleaned off the table. We could tell that she loved working at Chuy's and she was also very knowledgeable about the food. She was also very kind to my aging dad and gave him and my mom lots of attention. That meant the world to me and my brother! Now, the food! OMG delicious!! I had the Custom Enchiladas w/Ranchero Sauce. Best I've ever had! My brother had the Mexi-Cobb Salad and it was big enough for two meals! Huge!! We had Margaritas and Mojitos and they were delicious. Went to lunch today at Chuy's and it wasn't really crowded for a Sunday. Had a 5 min wait for a table (good), food was good but the reason I marked it down to 3 stars was from order to food delivery at the took an hour which I believe is way to long in a restaurant that is not really that busy. In the Rome area the Tex-mex options all lack flavor (hint Chipotle & others), and now I wish we had a Chuy's! The food itself is well made and yummy, but the options with the sauces are what make it so freakin good. The creamy jalapeño and ranchero sauce are my go-tos and I crave them every week. And their crispy thin and salty tortilla chips... dang. I get togo now most of the time when I'm in the Kennesaw area, eating some for dinner and saving leftovers for the next day. We chose the place almost at random because of how hungry we were. Maybe we should've gone to Friday's. I'd give this place one star, but the presentation is outstanding. Service is very good, although our waiter was a bit annoying. He said "my friend" after just about everything. It was similar to how Chic Fil A employees say "my pleasure" to everything. Regardless, it's unsettling. The inside almost looked like a 50's style diner that happens to serve Mexican food. They even show the process of making tortillas. That's about all that's good. The chips and salsa were fine, but everything else was sub-par. I ordered a house margarita, and it tasted both too sweet and cheap, like it was made with margarita mix. I ordered the stacked enchiladas. It just wasn't good. The verde sauce was sour, and the blue corn tortillas were soggy and bland. The chicken was OK, and the rice and beans were fair at best. On top of that, my girlfriend had a crunchy taco where the shell was stale. They replaced it promptly with a fresh one, but that's still a very odd thing. Overall, I'd rate Chuy's as edible. It's about the same rate frozen dinners. There's better, and much cheaper, Mexican food out there. Chuy's doesn't make the cut. read more

I went to this place once when they just opened but will never go there again. I ordered the cheese dip and the chimichangas. The dip was not melted all the way and needed to be sent back and the chimichangas were so greasy that I couldn't eat more than one bite. The service was excellent.
