Overall we liked our experience here. They took our reservation and our server was very attentive. Chips and salsa were great. They didn't have any beer on draft, which might not be a big deal for everyone but we didn't know that beforehand. Jesus. We had a Chuys by our home in IL. It recently closed which broke our hearts. So it was with a little bit of redemption, and a good measure of advertising (yes..we saw the highway billboard) that we walked through a rainstorm to get our beloved Chuys chips and meals. I think I've had 5-6 different things off their menu..none have disappointed. My only regret is that I have to go back home in a week..to a Chuys-less place. Please reopen a new one soon near Aurora! Just as great as the other Chuy's I've been to. The ambiance is comfortable, when you walk in the waitresses are immediately friendly and welcoming. The waitress brought the jalepeno ranch to the table with our chips and salsa which I didn't know I wanted but I'm ridiculously glad she brought because it was amazing. I got a fajita burrito with queso - the only thing that wasn't right is I asked to include fajita veggies and she didn't. But that's the only downside. First time at Chuy's and this restaurant far far exceeded our expectations. Our server, Warren, hands down - phenomenal. He gave us the most incredible service - so knowledgeable, so friendly - we felt right at home with him. Can't say enough great things. My husband and I both commented that was the best service we have had in a long long looooong time, maybe ever?! The chips and dip when you arrive taste so fresh, and they are made from scratch. Everything is apparently! Yummmmm the margaritas were perfect, authentic, and not your fake tasting ones with that yucky mix. Tacos and burritos full of flavor and delicious. I've been to Chuys twice now. My first time, my experience was decent. There wasn't anything to complain about. The food was good but nothing super over the top. My last visit, we were sitting around for a while waiting for our server. When the server got to our table, I could already feel the negative vibe/energy. I'm a server myself, so I know exactly what to look for and expect from other servers. This specific time was for lunch and the place was far from busy. There was no need to be waiting forever for someone to take our order. But we waited forever. Food was mediocre. I got a salad bowl with shrimp. There was no dressing that came with it, so I got the jalapeño creamy sauce. It wasn't bad but the shrimp was luke-warm. Someone at my table had chicken and said it was dry and tasted burnt. Let me start by saying that I have been to quite a few Chuy's, beginning first with the original in Austin, TX. Being here on vacation and seeing one of my favorite spots to get margaritas I knew we had to stop in here. I knew what to expect in the food and drinks. If your curious about what to order stick with the Elvis memorial with no sauce on anything and instead pour the jalapeño ranch cream sauce on top. It's a Texas favorite. As for margaritas go stick with the grandpa brew and add a side car which is an additional shot of tequila. Now to explain the three stars has nothing to do with food or drinks but simply management of the restaurant. The manager there did not know how to manage large parties which rolled over to her managing small parties wrong and poorly. She was frazzled and frustrated the entire time we were there which made her hostess frazzled and stressed. Management is supposed to set the tone for how a restaurant runs. Overall perfect food as always, management stinks here. read more

I used to live in CA and TX- the food here is disgusting. Chips and salsa were about the greatest thing that came out. Margaritas tasted like sugar water. The waiter basically said everything we wanted was sold out. I asked for vinaigrette and all they had was honey mustard or ranch dressing (what is up with FL?) Dude, not everyone eats dairy. My salad came out with all shredded cheese when I asked for no cheese. My husband's burrito had refried beans in it when he asked for none. I guess everything is pre-made or no substitutes allowed. I've been to a few Chuy's before and truly love their TexMex food (The only reason I'm still giving them two stars), but the experience my group had last night at this location was quite disappointing. We were seated at 6:45 after a short wait, but were then done with the first chip basket the seater brought us before our server even showed up around 10 minutes later. He was very nice and apologetic for the delay, and to our delight said we can still squeeze in a happy hour drink before 7pm! We put in our margarita orders without hesitation, and then our food orders with his next stop by. Now the restaurant was pretty busy which I know puts a bigger strain on these hard working servers, but the service was quite sloppy for a lack of a better word. Two in our group awkwardly had just their fajita steaks brought out a good while before the rest of their fixings and the other entrees, and then after everything was finally presented they had to ask for plates to build their fajitas on. Our server said he'd be right back with them, but then proceeded to bus other tables and such before likely remembering these girls hadn't gotten plates to start eating yet! When we got our checks at the end, we noticed the jumbo margaritas (which might I add really weren't very large) were rung-up at the regular menu price. We asked the server if they were meant to be discounted for happy hour, and he apologized and said he'd go look into it. Sure enough, he said he put the drink order in the system too late, and that now the manager wouldn't let him override them back to the happy hour price. Ok, now not a huge deal, but kind of disappointing to get jibbed of a discount you were told you'd be getting all because your server took over 15 minutes after being seated to get your drink order in. I definitely would not have ordered the "jumbo" as $11 is a little steep for just a not so large classic house margarita. But then, he also said my Chase credit card would not go through. Very odd as I've never had a problem with it before, but I just gave him my other lesser used card for the transaction and then he was gone for another 5+ minutes. He came back with a Coke soaked receipt for me to sign, and a little baffled by the first card not going through, we left. Turns out I tried my Chase card again this morning at a retail location, and it also would not process. I called Chase credit card services and they said my card was blocked for suspicious activity! They can see that at Chuy's my card was swiped first instead of the server attempting to insert it into a chip reader first (it's 2020, who doesn't use the chip?), and it was then blocked as the system thought it was being skimmed. Now I understand that's just a precaution set up by Chase, but a little annoying that it was even swiped first at the restaurant which caused this issue. Chase has temporarily unblocked the card but is still sending a new replacement one, as they seemed doubtful that the original one was free from any potential skimming. I really hope this wasn't the case at Chuy's! Overall, it was just kind of an underwhelming, frustrating experience. Hopefully this was just a one-off situation as I do think Chuy's has great food and I hope I can bring myself to go back to one again. read more

I am really being lenient with the 2 stars. It was awful. My drink was overly tart and my food tasted like plastic. Literally, I tried to cut my egg and couldn't. I figured it was the butter knife so I took a bite and had to spit it back out (see pic for details). I would not recommend this place to anyone. Usually I am hesitant to give bad reviews. I genuinely say on this for a couple of days before deciding that it was worth saving someone else the bad experience. My recommendation, go to an authentic Mexican restaurant to fulfill your Texmex needs. The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of one, because the bartender remade my drink and kept my chips full (which ended up being my meal). read more

My first time eating here and the food was just ok. It came out warm, not hot, cheese was not melted throughly in the enchilada. Refried beans looked as if they sat on the plate for a few minutes before being served. I came with two small children and unfortunately they were out of chicken tenders. The server was not great at all, she was clearly aggravated and did not even attempt to give great customer service. Refills were ignored even after asking, also asked for a to go box and never got it from her, another server had to be asked.
