Chuy's certainly isn't authentic Mexican food but it is good food. We visited with a party of nine and were taken care of promptly. Within minutes we had had drinks and chips and salsa as expected in a restaurant of this style. The salsa was mildly spicy but some in our party found the "ranch" style dip too spicy. We ordered a variety of menu selections and everyone was satisfied with their pick. We had a few drinks, enjoyed ourselves, and left full. If you answered yes to those questions then this is your place. My amazing and beautiful wife and I decided to eat out here for the first time together in a long time and we had a great experience. The food was great (I got the steak burrito my wife got the tortilla soup) the service was good as well. The margaritas are about 10 bucks but it is pretty good. I can't recommend this place enough... oh and if you have kids they have an amazing balloon guy named Denzil. He can make anything you can think of out of balloons. There was no wait on a Friday night (WHAT??)! Quick service and food was very hot and good. No complaints!

It was really busy on a Sunday night and we waited 25 minutes for a table for two but since we were in no rush we could just sit at the bar while we waited. The atmosphere in the bar area was vibrant and fun so the wait went by really quickly and a server saw us while we were there and asked if we wanted to just eat at the bar because it's open seating there so there are options if you cannot wait. The bar area was pretty full but not completely. There are always chips and salsa brought to the while you wait. We decided to wait for a table and got seated on the patio since which had great music, was covered and uniquely decorated. We had a cheese quesadillas and pulled chicken tacos. The wait for food was pretty long but if you don't have small kids with you and you're in no hurry it is worth the wait! The food was excellent, fresh and delicious. This was actually our 3rd time at this location and it wasn't nearly as good. The service was great, but they were out of pork for the daily Macho Burrito special. We didn't find this out until AFTER we ordered. Our server was super friendly and tried to find us something else to try. The 2 of us in our party that had ordered it found other things, but they weren't as good. The chips were dripping with oil, but they were fresh. That's up and down. I will say this... we always love the IDEA of coming to Chuy's because it's such a fun place with really good staff. Some of the items are awesome. Their happy hour is insanely good. The overall food when you total up everyone's at the table is PRETTY OK at best and NO BUENO at worst. It depends on what you get, but usually one person in our group is a sad panda. We got Nachos for the table (5 adults and a 1+ year old). They were tortilla/tostada styel which is never good and the portion was small. We ordered dinners and they were small portions and tasteless, No one enjoyed their meal. I don't think any of us finished our meal and not because of the portion size but the lack of flavor. We found this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. We got there just before 8 pm. The parking lot was busy so we figured we would be on a wait. We were told 25 minutes, in reality it was more like five. We were sat at a round corner booth in the bar area. As we were being seated the two workers were getting up from the table. As we sat down the booth was full of crumbs and under the table we were stepping on a couple pieces of chicken nuggets. Anyway, the waitress (Haley D) brought us chips and salsa she asked if we wanted drinks ( just like that). No introduction, no welcome to Chuy's. We ordered our drinks and she turned to walk away, I asked if we could get a guacamole. When she came back she had our drinks and guacamole. She then said "you ready?" Strange way of asking to take our order. We ordered chicken fajita burrito, combo fajitas for two, steak burrito and steak fajita burrito with no tortilla. I wanted the creamy jalapeño sauce. She brought my son and I a refill on our drinks and dropped off a ranch (looking and tasting) sauce. She brought the food out and I confirmed this is the jalapeño sauce she said yes. I said it tastes like ranch she said well there is ranch in it and walked away. Ok not what I was expecting. I picked at my bowl and flagged her down and asked what the other sauces are. She told me some and then said I really don't know without a menu here. She mentioned a green Chile one so I asked if I could try that. She brought it out quickly. Toward the end of our meal she took and plate and my son asked for a refill which she brought one for me too. Later when we were wrapping up she asked if we wanted dessert my daughter asked for a refill which she brought. Mind you my other son had nothing in his cup for awhile and she could not bother to refill his water the entire night. The only reason I know her name is it is on the receipt. So to sum it up the food was decent the server didn't want to be there. She was actually one of the ones sitting at the table before we were sat. She was not the slightest bit pleasant and she definitely acted like she did not want to be there. WOW! This was our first meal in town after a long flight across the country. I will concede that after 2 hours sitting on the tarmac and a subsequent 4 1/2 hour flight with airline snacks, even corn flakes taste amazing, but Chuys was not the beneficiary of Corn Flake Syndrome. Just when we thought we had run out of superlatives for the flavorful salsa, our server Bethany said, "Try this out!" and set down a bowl of creamy jalapeño sauce. oh my...OH! MY! From that point on, we didn't even touch the aforementioned flavorful salsa. The jalapeño sauce is derived from buttermilk, mayo, jalapeños, green chiles and cilantro. Layers of flavor and a soft heat lay poised to play a symphony on your taste buds. There are 5 fantastic sauces to choose from to order with your meal. We had the sirloin "bigger than yo face" burrito (with green chile sauce) and the chicken enchiladas and Baja fish tacos with the deluxe tomatillo sauce. The fish tacos were superb! Battered perfectly, they were crispy and flaky all at once. The enchiladas were outstanding as well. The deluxe tomatillo sauce complimented both dishes perfectly. If you want more heat, go with the hatch green chili sauce. Great flavor and lots of heat, this sauce is served heated in its bowl. The sirloin burrito was huge and delicious! Their guacamole is made fresh daily in house. They get their green chilis straight from New Mexico...the mothership for chilis. I had the chicken flautas this time around and they were really delicious and crisp, but not dry. But their dessert was AMAZING. The guys at Westgate resort recommended this place as it wasn't too far a drive. They cautioned us that this place could be a bit spendy. Nonetheless off we went. Having traveled from North of the Mason-Dixon line, we were ready for some authentic Tex-Mex. Place, like most others in the vicinity of Universal Studios, was packed. Seating for two is not a problem, and we were seated promptly. Staff was very friendly. A very different ambience to this place with the pink walls and the decor. We missed happy hour by a few minutes, so we settled for a few beers to relax and unwind from our long day. The beers and the usual chips and salsa arrived in short order. Chips were fresh. Salsa was very different and had a very good flavor and heat to it. Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom and an appetizer plate were the two things we ordered. The former is an enchilada, with chicken, cheese, and Boom-Boom sauce. The sauce is made of cheese, New Mexican chiles, cilantro and lime juice. The enchilada is served with a side of green chile rice and refried beans. The appetizer plate consists of chile con queso, nachos, deluxe quesadillas, chicken flautas, guacamole & sour cream. Food arrived quickly. This was some of the best Tex-Mex we've had in the recent years. Everything was fresh and the the flavor was outstanding. Portions are huge and make for plenty of leftovers. I tend to consider myself somewhat of a Mexican-fare connoisseur- not really, but it does sound fancy. I do love myself a wide array of Mexican food, and feel as though I am a good judge of what is good/authentic Mexican food, Tex-Mex, and the like. I can definitely tell you that Chuy's is not it. I made the mistake of choosing Chuy's because I read in a local Orlando newspaper that it was a new restaurant in the Orlando/Kissimmee area. Thinking we were experiencing some sort of local, authentic fare, you can imagine my surprise when we arrived to find it, eerily similar to a Mexican version of TGIFriday's. Being open to the experience, we sat down scanning the drink menu, wanting to numb the situation as quick as possible. We ordered our margartias from our server who was a bit too over-the-top excited, but not knowledgeable about the menu at all. While we are talking about the menu, let's discuss the fact that it is limited of authentic tex-mex options, and they have something actually called "Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken". What? Why are we bringing Elvis into this? And what does Elvis have to do with anything? They also have what they refer to as the "Elvis Presley Memorial Combo"- WTF? Elvis is rolling over in his grave as we speak about this issue, I just know it. Let's have a bit more respect for the King, shall we? We ordered a couple of veggie options, and without hesitation, the server brought out the wrong meal to us. Having worked in the restaurant world for many years, I send nothing back to the kitchen, so we made do with what we had. What we ordered were the Veggie Combos, what we got were the Veggie Enchiladas, which were bland and tasteless. Thankfully, we had a basket of tortilla chips to do the trick with our margaritas washing down the pain. There were WAY too many servers on staff, many of them were standing around stalking tables looking for something to do. I felt for our server who only had us, and one other table in her section, but with the lack of menu knowledge and messing up our order, maybe there was a reason for that. So, visitors to the Kissimmee area, do yourself a favor and drive away from the Irlo Bronson Hwy area for dining options. The decoration here is truly festive and colorful, something I really appreciate about Mexican restaurants. There is both indoor and outdoor seating here which you can enjoy, but on a hot day my family and I chose indoor seating to relax in the air conditioning.. I mean, there isn't much of a view for sitting on the outside anyway since it's just off on a highway. But on a positive note, this is relatively close to Disney World and a great place to unwind after having a heavy day of activities. Our waitress was fairly nice but inattentive in my opinion. We started out with free chips as starters, and our waitress only gave us the salsa as a dipping but by the bar area, there is a meat sauce that you could choose, a cheese sauce and some green colored sauce. The cheese sauce was my favorite and had a kick of spice in it. We ordered the fish tacos, steak burrito, Monday special (enchiladas), and beef soft tacos. Please do not get the beef soft tacos because it is basically the meat sauce that you can get for free to accompany the fries, put onto a soft shell and served to you!! However, I enjoyed my fish tacos. They were cooked to perfection and I enjoyed the sauce that they lathered on top as well. Topped with the tomatoes and salad that they have on the side, you could not go wrong with this. The enchilada was a little spicy for my liking and I wasn't too pleased with the tortilla used to wrap it. When paying for our bill, we waited so long for our waitress to come back that we just stood up and went to the cashier ourselves to pay for it.. where our waitress told us to sit down and she would handle it.
