Overall: 7/10 Food: 4/10 Presentation: 10/10 Service: 10/10 I had ordered the chicken fajitas and they came within maybe 10-15 mins along with a plate of toppings (guac, lettuce, tomatoes, rice, beans). Starting off, the guacamole was extremely bland. It tasted as if they just put avocado, onions, and cilantro and called it a day. No salt, tomato's, lime, etc. They also added a glop of sour cream on top of it... The rice also had no flavor and they used some kind of beans that did not taste mexican at all. The fajitas looked amazing! Came sizzling on a hot plate with peppers and onions. They tasted okay at first (besides being very bland) but then I guess I didn't eat them fast enough because they started burning onto the hot plate and eventually I was just tasting burnt chicken. Maybe that's on me for wanting more flavor haha. Our waitress was great, very sweet and present (especially with our refills). Would I ever go back? No. Would I recommend this place to anyone? Great Mexican restaurant in downtown Kissimmee!! Large restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Fully stocked bar and delicious micheladas!! The food was also really delicious with a large variety to choose from. I wasn't as hungry and opted for tamales à la carte. I picked a chicken tamale with green sauce and OMG that salsa was and I got a pork tamale but the red sauce was horrible!! Basically canned tomato sauce which was very disappointing. Stepped in for a quick lunch and it was quick indeed. The food was ready in less than ten minutes. I ordered the lunch chicken chimichanga and it was hot, crispy and tasty. I had a fantastic server Michelle, who was kind , efficient , friendly and fast. I will be sure to ask for her the next time I visit. it was dark and I was driving past and I saw El Tapatio all lit up nice and inviting so I decided to try it. Inside it's a fairly decent size restaurant. Lots of tables and booths. I was dining solo that night and kind of hungry. The appetizer selection didn't really thrill me very much. So I decided to skip it and just go with an entrée. They bought out the regular crispy chips and some salsa. Both were OK but nothing I would write home about. The server was very pleasant, very nice young lady. My order was shrimp with garlic sauce. It really wasn't all that good. There was no sauce and a lot of onions, which is fine but no sauce I mean where's the garlic sauce? My rice was dry and flavorless. My shrimp were dry and flavorous. The tortillas that they served were small and fell apart easily. They don't have any black beans in this restaurant, which I found unusual for a Mexican restaurant. And there were no refried beans on my plate, which I also found unusual for a Mexican restaurant combination. I tried explaining this to the server, but there was a language barrier. Overall, the restaurant is nice to look at and the people are friendly, but the food is really not that enjoyable. I would not go back personally. read more

I come here with my coworkers for their lunch specials, the carne fajitas were about 15.99 which is not bad compared to their dinner prices. Since they are a little restaurant in the corner of a street they are small with limited parking but the service is good because there are not a lot of people inside. My wife, son, and I came in for dinner and had a really bad experience. When our son ordered in English, the waitress made a rude comment to my wife (who is a Spanish speaker) about him not speaking Spanish, then added, "I guess we aren't doing so well," implying she had failed to teach him. My wife was offended by the remark. It was ignorant, unprofessional, and she should learn to keep her personal opinions to herself. From that point on, the waitress completely ignored me. I'm a white guy, and every time she came to the table, she turned her back to me and spoke only to my wife in Spanish--even when I asked questions directly. It was rude and dismissive. We were in Kissimmee for a Lego Brick convention and thought we would find a place to eat in the area. There were plenty of Mexican restaurants to choose from and based on reviews and the look of the place, we chose this place. This restaurant came highly recommended so we tried it. I will say the parking can be complicated because if you don't get one of the few spots in the front then you park on the side along trees or in the back of the restaurant. Once inside you definitely feel like you're in an authentic Mexican restaurant but the food was just okay to me. I typically order flautas at Mexican restaurants and they seemed pretty basic and not overly flavorful here, but the other people I went with said they liked their food. As for the service, the waitress was very nice but since they were so busy we waited quite a bit to get drinks refilled or to ask for something. I may go back on a week day to see if it's better, but overall it was an okay experience. read more

Mexican food is one of my top, favorite foods. I was looking for a Mexican restaurant that was all the hype, and I found it here at El Tapatio. When you first walk in, the aroma of the food gets your taste buds going. Then the chips, salsa, and beer pulls you in. My all time favorite is the chicken chimichanga. I think it's the crunchy outer layer, with the tender, juicy chicken inside. However, this restaurant pours queso over it, which I usually never allow, but today I was up for something a little different. I am so glad I tried it, the queso (which, to me makes everything better) made my dinner extra yummy, that I started dancing in my seat. I'm so happy I tried this place.
