The chips are great. Everything else was terrible. Guacamole had a bunch of lettuce in it, seems like a great way to stretch the avocado and make it cheaper for the restaurant. Food plates and beans were so hot it seems they likely just got put on the plate cold and then all baked. I did the steak burrito-very large chunks of tough meat. The tortilla was oddly supper thick. My husband had the chicken fajita burrito-I've never seen fajita anything that doesn't come with onion and peppers, but his burrito was just chicken and cheese. I found it odd they ask what sauce he wanted on top and then charged $2 add on for the sauce. The waitress was super sweet and provided great service. Chuy's is amazing! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Don't fear that's it's a chain as they source local ingredients with the freshness that you would get at any local restaurant around town. I personally love the fun colorful vibe, a love of Elvis and their awesome patio! My go to dishes here are their fajitas and the fajita chicken burrito or ground beef burritos covered in queso. Yesterday I found a piece of glass in my food. It was a broke piece of clear glass. The manager was David I spoke to. I have 15 years of kitchen manager and restaurant manager experience and this is completely unacceptable. As he agreed. Went to this Chuy's to have lunch with my family. I ordered the Chuychanga. It had a good taste but was hard as a rock. I know the shell is fried but I have never had one so hard before. (It was better the next day), The service was average...nothing really spectacular. The not-so-great part is when I paid. I was solo on my check and it was under $20. I had done the math wrong in my head and thought I was leaving 20% but I was $1 shy of that. The server asked if I needed change and I told her no and then added some coin trying to make it a little more of a tip. When she returned with everyone else's card she asked me quite loudly, "Are you SURE you don't want your $2 back?" I felt that that was quite rude and came close to telling her, sure I'd take it back but instead had her break another $20 so I could give her more. I was a server for many years and normally tip quite well. She made me feel as though I had done something horribly wrong. I won't go to that Chuy's ever again because of that rude server. read more

Unfortunately this place is lacking in service and food quantity. We walked in and was sat right down, but we asked to move to a booth because the tables and chairs are tiny and low to the ground. The host said this was all he had, but thankfully one of the servers asked me if I wanted a booth after overhearing our question and walked us over to a booth. This MEXICAN food is as close as I can find to real and authentic Texas BBQ. Sometimes their service is slower when they are busy; but their salsa is to die for!!! And their tortilla chips. I've never had an allergic reaction here, as I have SOOO many food allergies; so this is one of those restaurants that I just keep coming back to every time. When I went, they were still having inside dining; but with the new restrictions, that isn't accessible. First time & absolutely the best spicy salsa & lite thin homemade chips. My girlfriend, who is a regular brought me & thankfully ordered us two salsas a piece! Fresh & delish! Honestly, I could have eaten that alone for lunch! The Ranchero sauce on the cheese enchiladas were fantastic & authentic. Man, I always have loved Chuys and well..... now I will never go back. Very poor experience Thursday at the Hamburg location. As in, do not go to the Hamburg location...... ever. The lunch experience started off as per usual; salsa and jalapeño dip with chips. As my boyfriend dug into the salsa, I noticed him scooping out what appeared to be a leaf. Like a full size maple leaf. He moved right past it. I take a turn at the salsa. Much to my surprise, the "leaf" was not alone. A large piece of corrugated cardboard rested firmly in the bottom of our tiny salsa bowl. The server comes over. My bf asks for the manager (he's never a Karen). The server removes our salsa, disregards my boyfriend's request, and comes back with no manager and a "fresh" salsa. No one removed all of the other patron's salsa (that was likely all contaminated) within the packed restaurant. Needless to say, the manager never stopped by our table. Instead, she was literally sampling frozen margaritas with the bartender during the extent of our time there. The bill for lunch was $35. We tipped well. Left disappointed and sadly, Chuys is off my list of future go-to's....... Especially the Hamburg location. read more

I am so excited to have a Chuy's on my side of town! This may flavor my review a bit. If you haven't been here they have thin fried chips and creamy jalapeno dip that come with your meal. No draft beer, but margarita that are generated out of machines. I do really like chain over all. I love the homemade flour tortillas. They are a great addition to anything you order! I am a huge fan of the soup here. Flavorful broth filled with pulled chicken and an array of veggies. There are fresh avocado slices that add an extra richness to the flavor. It is not spiced chili power so this is a much brighter flavor than what you see in tortilla soup in other places. I've been here twice since it opened and the first time the service was excellent on day 2! Our server was sweet explained the wait and we had several people swing by our table to check on us in crazy times! The second time, weeks after the opening, the server was unsure of the wine and beers and didn't understand if items could be served a al carte or not. (I still don't have the answer to that...can I just get a taco and beer?) I look forward to eating here on a regular basis. Thanks for bringing Chuy's to our side of town. read more

Most of the food is good, but some of it can lack some flavor. It is tex-mex, so I expect that, but it's still very good. The burritos are delicious. There can be a wait, because the dining room is very small, one of the servers there one time told us that it was the smallest location out of the whole chain. The food was normal. We enjoyed the salsa, chips and creamy dip. Our server was what made the meal uncomfortable. We both ordered non alcoholic drinks off the menu to try and he responded with "why bother" when we ordered. He was rude and demeaning. No one in our party is confrontational and I wasn't even going to write a review but Yelp sent an e-mail requesting a review. The server was a past middle age gentleman who seems to think people like being snubbed no matter what they are asking to order. After some growing pains, this Chuy's has found its stride. I went here when this location first opened. Then, the service wasn't the best and the time to get food was fairly long. However, in my most recent visit, everything was absolutely wonderful. My company had a going-away celebration for an employee that included lunch at Chuy's. There were about 20 of us. Surprisingly, we were able to get a table almost immediately. Our food also came out in a timely manner. Everyone's meal was perfect and came out correctly. Our drinks remained refilled and chips and salsa constantly stocked. My meal was the "Big As Yo Face" Chicken Burrito. It was delicious. I kept wanting to say "Gimme More." Ashley was our server. She was fantastic! It's a chore to serve large parties, but she was organized, personable and attentive the entire time. The other employees were also nice. They were very helpful and worked as a team when delivering the food. Being located in Hamburg, this location can be very busy. The other times I've visited this location, there was a wait. Keep that in mind when dining here. There is plenty of parking so no need to stress. I highly recommend this Chuy's location. Also, be sure to get Ashley if you're there. She was wonderful. As far as entrees go, the Burritos are always a great choice. I also like their enchiladas and chile rellenos. Of course, you definitely have to get the Creamy Jalapeno Sauce. Chips are really good but salsa could be better. Always enjoy Chuy's fajitas, but they could improve by using more red and green peppers. They mostly use onions, which is not really how most other restaurants do it. Chicken is grilled and sliced which makes it tender and juicy. The curbside ordering for Cinco de Mayo was an absolute shit show. The instructions for curbside were to park in a numbered spot and text upon arrival. Ok, that's a joke. Not enough numbered spots for over 90% of the cars arriving and the parking lot is completely filled with additional cars circling. My scheduled pickup for an online order was 7pm. At 8:45, and after standing outside the front door (because there were not enough numbers) and in the 40F cold at the front door, my # was called. It's opening day and I'm confident in my rating and opinion based on one visit, mainly because I've been to other Chuy's locations, countless times. This is Lexington's second Chuy's location and Chuys' 100th location throughout the nation. With a lack of Mexican restaurants on this side of town, it's definitely a welcomed addition to the Hamburg area. It's in the old Applebee's location. They completely gutted and remodeled it though. They kept the bar area the same though, in the middle of the restaurant. I overheard an employee say that it's the only location with the bar in the middle. I also heard it's the smallest Chuy's location and coincidentally their largest location is in Louisville, KY. My favorite thing here are the beef fajitas. The beef is marinated in a specific type of beer making the steak cuts unlike any I've had anywhere. The option is huge, accompanied by the usual Mexican rice, refried beans, etc. the tortilla soup is fantastic too. I just might've had it many times, as a hangover meal. The bowl size is a big portion and definitely enough to make a meal out if you're not feeling very hungry. The salsa is chunky and fresh, not the usual runny salsa at other places. The chips are unlike no other, thin and perfect. Ask for the creamy jalapeño dip... it's life changing. As a matter of fact, you can try any of the sauces before committing to the one assigned to the meal that you choose. The happy hour is also unlike no other, with a free nacho bar, even stocked with cheese dip. One last mention, you can order the half sized portions at any time of the day, not just lunch. read more
