Updated 9/2/2019: I went back to this location after giving them some time to work out the kinks and it seems they have done so. We had excellent service from our server and the food was up to the standard we've come to expect from Chuys. Leaving my original review below for posterity but am happy that we gave them another shot. Original review: I was super excited to hear Chuy's was opening this location because I love the food and it is much more convenient. Unfortunately we've visited three times and it just hasn't lived up to Chuy's standards. The first visit was only their second day so I chalked it up to being new. Seriously Chuy's?! I ordered two large quesos for curbside pickup before heading to a dinner party. The website stated it comes with chips, salsa fresca, and creamy jalapeño sauce. I paid $9 per order for this, thinking it was a bit much but ok since there was so much extra included. I ordered for pickup by 6 PM. I was notified it'd be ready at 6:05, and proceeded to wait an additional 10+ minutes. They bring it out to me and I go to check the bag because it seems small. One large bag of chips and two tiny containers of queso. Not two bags of chips and two large queso, let alone the salsa fresca or creamy jalapeño. With tax and tip, I spent over $20! I call to explain there's been an error and the lady on the phone was incredibly demeaning and condescending. She told me "that's how it comes, you don't get the salsa fresca or creamy jalapeño, you should've ordered an entree." I thanked her but started to explain that I had ordered larges and she hung up on me! I was so mad that I called my husband to try to calm me down. He didn't do that, and told me there a difference between being unreasonable and being rolled over. And that Chuy's was steam rolling over me. Despite that being our first ever date, and the meal we had before he proposed, we will NEVER be back to Chuy's. Not just this location, any Chuy's location throughout the country. We are disgusted with their price gouging and poor customer service, and will shout it from the mountaintops to tell EVERYONE to stop supporting this horrible company. I really enjoyed my evening out to Chuy's for what I thought was going to be taco Tuesday but it turned into much more! I sat at the bar which is my usual and the bartender was super nice! They have an open chips and salsa bar for happy hour if you are interested. I ordered the chicken chimichangas and it was amazing. Hot and fresh and a huge portion. I had my doubts on this place but I'm glad I went. I'm not the biggest fan of tex-mex or Mexican in general but figured I would give it a shot. My boyfriend (who is Hispanic himself and very picky about Mexican) got the "Big As Yo' Face" Fajita Chicken Burrito with Ranchero sauce, and in his words "it was huge" and he gives the burrito a 3.5/5. I got the Baja Shrimp Tacos (2 tacos) and they were surprisingly really good for a chain 4/5. I would ask for no jalapeño ranch next time because it was too spicy for me. However, I was very pleased to see the shrimp was cleaned and didn't have the "poop" sack still in it. The tacos also came with rice and refried beans and because I don't eat that my boyfriend tried them and gave both a 3/5. Overall not too bad for a Tex-Mex chain and would eat at again. The service was good but could have been better we waited a long time between drink, food, check-time, and occasional check-ins but that may be because a group of 8 came in. Can't blame a waitress for trying to get a better tip from a group...I guess. However, the times she was at the table she was very friendly and sweet! read more

Stopped in with the family for Fathers Day lunch. The servers wore masks and all tables where distanced 6 feet apart. Our server was friendly and provided fast service. Chips and salsa was great, the salsa has a great fresh taste with medium heat and flavor, the Queso was good and the white sauce tasted a bit like ranch spinach dip. For Entres we had the crispy tacos, combo (chicken & beef) enchiladas with Ranchero sauce and the chicken burrito. All dishes came out great with awesome flavor. In my constant quest for good Tex-Mex food outside of San Antonio, my son and I found ourselves in Lexington for the day. If given any kind of restaurant, he would choose Mexican above all. We hadn't found a good Mexican place in Lexington for several years (On the Border was the last one), but Chuy's had opened a second location so we decided to try it. It is a very pleasant atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. They took our drink orders and brought out the customary chips and salsa. If nothing else was good, the salsa would have satisfied me. I make my own salsa at home and this rivaled my recipe. It was with all fresh ingredients (not any canned or stewed tomatoes here), and the chips were thin and warm. Very delicious. My son ordered the nachos appetizer for a meal, while I ordered enchiladas with rice and charro beans. It didn't take long to get our entrees. His nachos was a sizable portion and my meal looked OK. I wasn't crazy about the enchilada sauce, but it would have been better if they hadn't been so stingy with it. The rice was good and the charro beans (made with bear in the recipe), were OK, but not the best I have ever had. Over all, the meal was good. My son walked away a big fan. My party of two visited here last night. Allison P. is an amazing server! She was attentive, our order was accurate, she checked on us frequently, and she took used dishes without letting them stay there long. More than that, she was so kind! We don't eat meat but we were able to find some meatless entrees that we liked. Allison's knowledge of the menu allowed me to substitute refried beans for meat in the taco bowl, which I had never tried. My daughter and I each had food that was tasty and was served at the appropriate temperature. All of the food was fresh and had an appealing presentation. Their guacamole, which I believe is made on-site, was very good. They have some fun t-shirts for sale at the entrance. They're cute, fun, and reasonably priced. My daughter bought one on the way out. We had a great experience. I hope Allison is recognized for her excellent customer service. read more

We visited this Chuy's location for the first time today. We have been big fans since the other location opened on Nicholasville Rd. and so we looked forward to trying the new restaurant in Hamburg. Upon our arrival (Sunday afternoon) we were seated promptly. Our waitress appeared soon thereafter with chips and salsa. Of course the reason for going to Chuy's is the creamy jalapeño, am I right? So we requested that, too, and it came right out. My husband and I ordered the combo fajitas. He said he thought the potions of meat were a little larger her. Both the steak and chicken were delicious, I loved the guacamole, and overall our meal was delicious. Our waitress was friendly and made sure we had chips and refills when we needed them. Whichever end of town you are on, if you are craving good Mexican food, you can't go wrong with a visit to either Chuy's location. read more

My first time at this restaurant and I loved my experience! Kind hostesses, waiters and manager. I did the sauce tour which is a great way to explore all the sauces before choosing an entree. I highly recommend the queso as well. While much of their food has a bit of spicy heat, I'm not a fan of their standard salsa. It's just too hot for me to enjoy. I've been to Chuy's in several different locations including the original in Austin, TX, and I've been to this location 3 times now. I really wanted to love it but I can't. The Lexington location just doesn't stack up. The presentation of the food is just tired. Brown lettuce, dried out beans, peppers and onions soggy or completely dried out, and bored rice. Everything on the plate is barely lukewarm...the plate itself is the best part. It's as if everything was cooked 3 hours ago and sat around waiting to get thrown on a hot plate and served! The plating itself is even sloppy and tired looking. The food tastes ok but it's just kinda ruined before you even start eating. Please do some quality control on the plates coming out of the kitchen. There is so much potential. I know because I've seen what it could be. read more

I'm a die hard Chuy's fan and was so excited when I got one closer to home however tonight was my 3rd attempt at carry out and probably the worst, so far. Very simple, chicken enchiladas and an appetizer plate. The last two times they have forgotten all the sauces (queso, ranchero etc). Tonight after my server dropped off my food with all the personality of an Amazon drone I noticed that I was missing all the sauces again. I caught another server on her way in, explained the issue and she said she'd grab them. After waiting a few minutes without any sauces and explained that she asked the other server and she said the sauces were in the bag. They weren't, thus the reason for the original request. By the time she went back inside and got the sauces I sat there for 10 minutes. If this location is going to survive, they should start focusing on doing thing correctly and a little customer service rather than short cuts and attitude. read more

We are local and have been coming to this chuys since it opened at this location about once a week and spending around 100$ each trip. The last few times we have ordered (phone) we have had problems with our order when get home- whether its chewy chicken to forgetting sauces and tortillas to getting lot less chicken than normal. (we get the family fajita kit and quesadillas). Now our latest visit today we decided to change up our order by ordering more quesadillas and only double fajitas. get home and about half the quesadillas have like 2 to 3 pieces of chicken on them and our chicken for our double fajitas (34$) had enough chicken for maybe 4 fajitas. We decide to give them a call and the manager Allie was immediately rude and decided to tell us that we are the hardest customers and when our order comes in the staff cringes. the only thing we do I guess different is we ask that the fajita garnish be operated for us and mainly our special needs son who has allergies and is very picky when comes to food touching so we have to ask everywhere we go. I mean I worked in food business and always weird things customers ask for, but you always try to accommodate if possible and especially if knew was for those less fortunate. So the manager (Allie) says we know our employees messed up, but says nothing about compensating us back on next visit- the lady actually told us we needed go somewhere else and recommend we go across town to that chuys. Let me start this review with a statement... I LOVE Chuys as a whole. My reason for one star has nothing to do with the menu, food, or the establishment being unclean but everything to do with the service and how absolutely rude our waitress was. In fact, we ate dinner at Chuys in Nicholasville the night before and had a great experience. We just wanted to get our fix in one last time before returning to New England where we don't have Chuys. When we arrived there was no wait. So we sat down the as soon as we did our waitress, Ana, brought over chips, salsa and the ranch sauce. She also took our drink orders. We ordered margaritas. She came back to the table about 15 minutes later with one drink but not the other. We thought it took a long time to get the first drink. The second drink didn't surface for another 10 minutes, and came right before we got our food. When we ordered I asked for a bean burrito with no cheese and she made some snarky comment about there not being anything but beans in it and never asked what type of sauce I wanted, so before she left, I told her I wanted Rancho sauce on it. My fiancé ordered fajitas. When my burrito came it had no sauce on it. My salad which I ordered as my side had no salad dressing. So I said, "this was supposed to have Rancho sauce on it." and she said "There is nothing I can do about that. I will bring you a side of it". She never offered to have it taken back to have the sauce baked on properly. She also never brought my fiancé a plate so we sat there with our food getting cold waiting for her to come back with the sauce. Then we had to ask another waitress for a plate and salad dressing. She never returned to ask us if we needed anything, or wanted a drink refill. So most of our meal we did not have drinks. When she finally did return 25 minutes later, she goes "Wow, you are done already". Which I thought was rude. It was 25 minutes later... of course I am done with my dinner. She never asked if we wanted dessert, so we went to another establishment to get dessert, and then took about 15 minutes to return with my credit card for us to sign and leave. She was not detail oriented and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her - which is not how a waitress should make you feel. If I am in the area again, I would return as the food is always good at Chuys. read more
