When they first opened, we really liked it here. Fun, good food. Seems as if food has gone down hill and the past two times I have gotten brown lettuce in my salad. This past time I ordered a drink and they gave me a USED straw. We knew it was used because there were pink strawberry-like seeds throughout. Unsanitary and disgusting. We left and will not be back. I love Chuys, the food is great when they actually try but recently I have not wanted to get it because every single time the carry out workers take almost 40 minutes to even come to my car and then I have to wait for my food and it's about an hour situation. I called ahead an hour early because I wanted to schedule a time for pick up, they told me I couldn't do that and it would be ready in 15 minutes so I come over here and I have been waiting 40 minutes and no one has even come to my car. read more

I have been to this location 4 times since it opened. I have given them enough chances and it is time to review. This is a Chuy's the food is awesome. Cleary those trained to cook have been trained well and my hats off to the chef's on duty each time I was there. BUT, that is where the awesome training ends, cause the service sucks! I am talking about the multiple waitresses and hostesses at the front on their phones blocking the way through to the dining area so that my 6'6" 350 husband had to shimmy past you sideways so not to knock you down. I am talking about how everytime I have been here I have sat waiting on chips and drink orders while other groups seated after me get service. How my chips basket sits empty even after you deliver the creamy jalapeno to my table and you see it. What? Shall I dip it with my fingers? It ain't couscous! What a huge disappointment it was to order curbside! Have purchased many meals from Chuys and used to love the Big as Yo Face Burrito. Unfortunately, the burrito is about half the size for 20% more than it used to cost. I also like to tip cash for good service but they automatically charged a 20% tip to my pick-up order with my authorization. Very disappointed in price vs. portion size and they have lost my business forever. It you want good Mexican good, go anywhere but Chuys. They are a greedy franchise! read more

Good tex mex with good variety and fair prices. Happy hour food bar ok if you just need a soak up liquor snack. Nothing special. Overall a good go to place in this area. VERY crowded on weekend nights. Waits over 30 minutes to an hourr not unheard of. PLan ahead. read more

This place needs help- ASAP. Food is fantastic but service is consistently horrible. My husband and I brought my parents here in hopes of having a nice dinner and some delicious Tex-Mex food. The hostesses are teenage girls on their cellphones at every given opportunity. We checked in online- which means nothing. We still waited 40 minutes, after being quoted 10-15. They took us to a dirty booth, and we asked them to (at least) wipe the seats off, and the girl walked away and left 5 of us awkwardly standing there by the dirty table, in the busy bar area. So we cleaned it ourselves and sat down. Several minutes later, the girl comes back with another hostess and the new hostess asks us if we want her to wipe the seats. The ones we already wiped and were sitting on. (Isn't it common sense for any aged person to grab some kind of wiping tool and shoost the food matter off of a seat, when nicely asked. I'm still baffled by this happening) While we waited for any server to acknowledge us, we watched the long haired bus boy robotically and unenthusiastically wiping off the tables- right into the seats. After waiting for longer than we should have- and no one coming to our table- we got up and left. Great experience for the parents, who've never been there and -my guess would be- they won't be back. And neither will we. I should have known better, as the three times I've ordered Curbside To-Go from this Chuys- my order has been wrong every time. read more

Food was great per usual. Had a bad waiter. No big deal. It was the end of the night, I understand. I just turned 21 about 3 weeks ago, and ordered a margarita. The waitress asked to see my ID, so I whipped out my vertical ID, and handed it to her. She gave me a spiel about how they're not supposed to serve alcohol to anyone who still has a vertical ID, but that she understood and believed me that I was 21. As she walked away my friend and I overlooked my ID and saw that it doesn't expire until June, so we were both confused. Overhearing us talking she came back and told us it is a law and that it is because some people will give others their vertical license when they get it switched to horizontal. I had never heard this so I looked it up on ABC.KY.GOV. They say that a person must be 21 and most restaurants require a valid ID and that a vertical ID is a valid form of ID. Doesn't really seem like what she said was adding up. But ok. From that point on she just seemed really rude to us. Smiling at other customers but never smiled at us. Etc... just felt kind of disrespected, all because I had never heard of this "law" that I'm still very unsure is a "law." read more

The food is mediocre and the atmosphere is loud and crowded. Similar to a crowded bar. But the jalapeño ranch sauce cannot be beat!

I will say I'm basing my review just off of curbside to go experiences because the wait has always been so long to dine in we haven't been able to try it with kids. Each time we are told to go will take 45 minutes which in and of itself would not be a problem if you can plan ahead but then when you finally get your order and it is wrong, it's a problem. Combined with that, to go staff are always not friendly at best and rude at their worst. Whenever we try to call and order to go the background noise is so loud that they can't hear us which I imagine contributes to the wrong orders. So last night after an unsuccessful attempt calling we just went in to order. We were told it would take 45 or more minutes because our order had "so many modifications" which was just "beans instead of beef" on one entree and "rice instead of cheese" on another. The wait combined with last experiences and the rudeness from the to go person made us decide to cancel our order and honestly we'll probably make the longer drive to go to the other Chuys in town from now on. Good news is, because of how bad the to go is at Chuys, Chipotle has been happy to take our business instead haha. read more

The decor is interesting and the atmosphere was lively. The chips brought to our table were fabulous, and the salsa tasted great but was too hot for our liking. Our server was lack luster as was the service AND food (ground sirloin and bean burrito & crunchy tacos). Won't be back. read more

We arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 had a waited until 7 for a seat we were still waiting for our food until 8:30 then the manager had literally come out and serve us the food because the food was sitting out on the table back in the kitchen for too long!! Very annoying!! When our food came out it was lukewarm and the sour cream atop my burrito was literally crumbling and dried out!! They did cancel the bill but I would much rather pay full price for good services than pay nothing for bad!! Bad communication in the kitchen is what they said!! Went for lunch last Friday at about 11:30. Had a 10 minute wait. Place was very crowded and so noisy it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Service was very slow and when we finally got our food it was barely warm. Parts of it were just plain cold. The wait staff were very sloppily dressed and did not appear the cleanest. Love Chuy's, and now that we live on the east side of town the Hamburg store is our go-to location. The food was hot and the server prompt. One quibble that caused me to remove one star. Our server brought the requisite chips & salsa, but we immediately noticed a difference. The basket no longer had those thin, freshly-made chips from their hand-made tortillas. Instead we had plain old run-of-the-mill corn tortilla chips that every restaurant within 50 miles will serve. Cold, somewhat tasteless, and thick. I asked the server if they changed and she replied "yes, these are our new chips!" Sorry, Chuy's, not a fan. Even made us rethink our dinner order. They limited their menu at the outset of the pandemic (completely understand) and had only recently brought back their "panchos", or kicked up nachos with tons of stuff on them. We liked to order them with the thin chips (their term was "gringo style" - not my label) which made them even better and a cut about everyone else's. That was our intent to order when we walked thru the door. Sadly we adapted to something else when we saw these lifeless cold ho-hum chips. C'mon Chuy's! Your chips set you apart from everyone!
