I was looking forward to checking out Chuy's all week because business had been booming and people seemed to be flocking there in Little Rock. Even though I had heard it was a popular chain in Texas and I've spent a lot of time there I had never really heard of Chuy's. Now I think I know why. It's a chain and nothing to get excited about. Especially when you have to wait almost an hour for a table. It was my friend's birthday, so I was trying to make the best of the situation. I ordered a watermelon margarita which a friend had told me was tasty and yes, it was. Then they brought out the salsa. What a disappointment!! I love salsa, but this one was more like pico de gallo with almost no taste, but a little hint of onion and way too watery! The chips were good though and kept coming out quickly. I ordered the chicken enchiladas because I had heard they were good there and they sounded tasty on the menu. The portion was massive! But, I have to say they were so bland. My friend next to me kept complaining about his food (he got some kind of combo plate) and I still tried to make the best of it since it was my friend's birthday dinner. The refried beans were good though and the rice was okay. My other friend ordered Baja tacos and she said she liked hers. Maybe, I ordered the wrong thing. I do have to say our server was pretty good and attentive for our large table. He brought out refills very quickly. Once you get in there's not much waiting. I heard the happy hour is good and that's probably the only way I would return. How bad can you mess up queso and margaritas? Also, my friend got violently ill after we ate, so that made me worry a little. I would just say save your money and check out another restaurant if you're on the west side such as Local Lime or Big Orange. read more

This is a fine Tex-Mex joint with tasty food. I am a big fan of fish Tacos and since leaving CA 15 years ago I have not found many places that can do fish Tacos right. Chuy's makes them wonderful and has great service. The food is plentiful and the ambiance is lively. It is a nice addition to the eatery choices in West Little Rock. read more

Chuys is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. The service is consistent and the bathroom and tables were spotless. The food was great as always. I love the jalapeno ranch dip and chili con queso. I had grilled chicken cut on a bed of rice with queso on top. I have had this at many resturaunts and this is the best I've had it. read more

OK, this place is awesome. The Texas Martini is perfection in a glass. The salsa is the best I've ever tasted and really wish I could get them to give me the recipe. I promise to still come to the restaurant to eat, but that would be so good at home sometimes. I ordered the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom because I thought the name was fun to say and it didn't disappoint. Delicious. My friend and lunch companion had the Steak Burrito and was kind enough to let me taste it. I will be ordering that when I go back. So glad this restaurant is in Little Rock now. Never tried Chuy's, wife wanted to check it out. We were seated on a Monday early and they were not busy. Guy took our drink orders (water) and never came back. My wife had to go to the front to tell the hostess, which she said she would get a manager. Manager never came. The waitress came by and asked if we wanted to sample some drinks before ordering them. Sure. She came back to apologize and say they don't do that anymore, and no one informed her. (they should have done it anyway to honor her offer, at least this time. I got veggie enchilada's and they lit my mouth up since they were so spicy. I told the waitress that most restaurants make the food kind of mild and let you spice it up with sauces yourself. She said they marinade everything in jalapeno pepper marinade. (Or something like that.) Well I can't go back then. She voluntarily comped my meal out, but I can't go back if I can't find some mild food, after all it is TEX-MEX, not true Mexican. read more

The house margaritas are pretty good here! I wasn't crazy about the chunky salsa. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered a single taco plate that came with guac and cheese dip. My poor taco fell apart straight away but that was probably my graceful nature. I love all the Chihuahua pics in the bar! Food was pricey. Nothing exceptional. The chile con queso was underwhelming. My tacos were good enough, nothing noteworthy. My wife had some sort of Tex-Mex enchilada. Our ticket was over 30 dollars. Next time if I want mediocre Tex-Mex ,I'll make it myself at home or go somewhere else without such steep prices. The iced tea was the best thing they had going. It tasted like Yerba Mate. Really should be 3.5 stars. Service was good. Food was meh. Had the hatch green chile enchiladas. When i think enchiladas i think cheese... This didnt have much at all. Ate at Chuy's Chenal location on a Tuesday night about 7pm. I was on my own. The restaurant was busy without being crowded. I opted to sit in the bar area and seated myself. It wasn't long before a waiter noticed me and took my drink order. I was a little disappointed that they don't have any beer on tap, but I've been known to drink bottled beer before... For food, I ordered the soft tacos with grilled chicken, rice, and refried beans. It was delivered timely, and everything was hot (except for the cheese, lettuce, and guacamole on the side, which were as they should have been.) The rice was fine, but the refried beans left a bad aftertaste, almost like they were over-refried. As for the tacos, the flour tortillas were tough and the chicken was overcooked and dry. In fact, the chicken had a bit of a burnt taste to it, and I'm still tasting the burnt flavor when I burp a couple of hours later. I left a fair amount of food on the plate. The service was fine, but the food put me off. If it had been good, the price for what I had was reasonable. No one ever asked what I thought about the food. They need to do something with the music. It was too loud, and the song selections would have been considered oldies in the 60's/70's. To be honest, if I had been with a group, I wouldn't even have paid attention to the music, so many customers might not care. Considering that there are better Mexican places in the area (Local Lime, Santo Coyote, Ponchitos) I can't imagine that I would want to eat at Chuy's again (unless my wife insisted because she hasn't eaten there yet.) read more

If you are in the mood for fancy Taco Bell, this is your place. I just don't get it. Chains like this are often way more expensive than local authentic Mexican/Tex-Mex places and not nearly as good. But the food at chains tastes the same no matter where you eat. Life is too short for consistency!!! But the food is tasty, just generic. read more

We are moving very close by so we stopped in to eat after church today. We told the hostess we were a party of 5 and she turned to a waiter with "McFly" on his name tag if he would like our table. He looked us over and said, "Nah, they got too many kids." We immediately left. Having worked in the restaurant industry for many years I understand you may not want a table with 3 kids but clearly you can't say that in front of the customer. Insanely rude. nothing to write home about. it is in a great location, so we have been there a few times. As with most Mexican restaurants, its rather hard to eat healthy here. I do wish they had a wider beer selection, just because I am eating at a Mexican place does not mean i want Mexican beer (and domestic light beers are not much better). As a patron of the original Chuy's I approve. Our waiter was superb, his name was Ziggy. I always order the beef fajitas and the tortillas are delicious, homemade, and so fluffy. Loved the mango-strawberry swirl margarita. Creamy jalapeño is a must and so is the flan and tres leches. read more

This is my favorite restaurant. Great environment with great food. All menu items have great flavor and freshness. Love this Tex-Mex place! Wait staff is friendly and courteous. They are very knowledgable about the entire menu and keep the ball rolling from the time you walk in the door. Food portions are very nice and usually leave you with leftovers due to free chips and salsa. Salsa is said to "Limey" but I've had worse. read more

Second time to dine at Chuy's. Thought it might be better the second time-NOT. Ordered a Ground Beef Burrito and refried beans and it was terrible. No beef flavor at all, all I could taste was the refried beans-almost $10 down the drain. The rice was like tasteless wax, no flavor at all. Really disappointing and, after two tries, will not go back. The chips were light and crispy but the salsa way too hot, and I like hot. Waitress was attentive, so service was good but could not make-up for terrible food. If you like atmosphere but don't give a flip about good tasting food, this is the place for you. It's a Tex-Mex chain, so you know what you're getting for food, which is always nice. That said - I can't believe how much salt and they put in their food. The servings are huge so beware not to get too many appetizers, otherwise he will spoil your appetite for the entrée!
