This is a solid Tex-Mex offering in the Little Rock metro area. The restaurant is HUGE, and also in high demand. We were there at 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon, and we had a 10-minute wait. Plan accordingly. The service is fantastic. Multiple people checked on us, brought us the items we ordered, refilled our drinks, etc. We only had to think of something and someone was there to see what we needed. We started with the chips and salsa, and I ordered guacamole to accompany the chips. I had a Chuy's special enchilada, which is a blue corn tortilla with chicken and tomatillo sauce. (The waiter brought me the sauce to taste, as he said not everyone loves it. I thought it was great, as it wasn't so spicy that it overwhelmed the ingredients of the enchilada). My husband had chicken tortilla soup and bottled root beer. There are not free refills on bottled drinks, so he had to pay for a second one. This brings me to my only complaint with Chuy's: I ordered their featured margarita, which was delicious, and comes in a large chalice-like glass, but when you set to drinking it, which I did quickly, you realize a lot of it is ice. This is disappointing for a $9 drink. Since my husband was nursing his second root beer, I decided to try the regular margarita they offered (blended), and I found this to be much more of a drink for about $6. Always awesome...definitely something to try if you're craving Mexican but want something not so typical. I've been here several times and have never had any issues with service. The food is always really good and comes out fresh. I used to always get the fish tacos, but branched out yesterday and tried the veggie enchiladas....not disappointed at all. I can't believe I didn't snap a pic, but basically it was two whole grain tortillas wrapped around sauteed squash, zucchini, onions, and probably some other stuff I can't remember. Topped with cheese and red sauce. Very tasty. I highly recommend any of their Mexican martinis and always order the creamy jalapeño sauce....which really doesn't taste like jalapeños at all, more of a really kicked up, thick ranch sauce. Like seriously...ask for some with your chips. Amazing. Oh..and their chips are by far, my fave in LR. Go here....Its awesome. read more

Nothing spectacular, but it is a chain restaurant (which typically leave me less than impressed.) + The Positives: Fun decor, great salsa bar, free cheese dip, affordable prices. They also have a huge menu with many options. - The Negatives: Our service, nor the food, were great. Not terrible...but not great either. I'm really surprised that this is a chain restaurant. Chain restaurants are usually consistently good food, atmosphere, etc.- hence giving them the notoriety to become a chain. I just don't get people's like/love of this place. Maybe they are writing their reviews after 1 too many margaritas. =) I've eaten here twice, thinking that the 1st time might have been a fluke. The chips & salsa were ok. Cheese dip, not impressed. And our entrees--super underwhelming. This stuff looked like a supersized tv dinner that had been heated up and placed before us. The taste was the same, definitely reminiscent of a tv dinner. My margarita was good, though not as strong as I would have liked. I guess that's how they rope you into buying 2 or 3. Service was so-so. On top of all of that, it's expensive for Mexican food. If you want more authentic (& cheaper) Mexican, go to Senor Tequilas (my fav) or El Porton. If you want better tex mex with about the same price tag, give Local Lime a try. I'm sorry, but Chuy's doesn't have a place in my frequented restaurants line up. R.I.P. I was visiting friends on Spring Break last week. We went hiking and ate At Chuy's after. It was a group of 9. (My buddy has 5 kids) out waitress I think her name was Twana, was amazing!!! I have never seen someone so good at their craft. I know it is not easy waiting on big groups especially with 5 kids. She was on top of it. psssst.... don't tell my regular Chuys.... I visited this location recently, twice! Sauce Fyi - The hatch sauce is a different consistency here- not an improvement. The creamy jalapeño was reeeally good! The tomatillo sauce was spot on! They did a great job with our allergy family members chicken and guac. (We get an order of this at pretty much every Chuys we visit - consistency is part of what makes Chuys great!) All in all a good deal! Nice patio, which at our first visit was not enclosed - and it was cold and windy. A few days later it was enclosed and cozy! So I realize this is an odd comment but - the water here was so amazingly tasty and pure! Best water I have had out in years! It was awesome to go out somewhere and have really great glass of water! (you know, no chlorine taste, no minerally business, or kinda moldy flavor - just clear wonderful sweet tasty water!) We had two separate regular servers, and one in training. All were excellent! Just recently came back to visit family and noticed chuy's had opened. I've been wanting to try this place for a while in Texas and never got around to it. It was ok as far as Mexican chain restaurants go. It was really packed which was to be expected since its new. I know this is a chain but it feels more like a local place. I have been here a dozen times mostly sitting at the bar. You can't beat the happy hour nacho bar and the bar staff is very friendly and quick to fill your cup whether that's water or a drink. And the food is pretty good as well with large portions and a reasonable price. I guess that is why it is becoming one of my regular spots. Fajitas and enchiladas are excellent. read more

As a Tex-Mex place this place is top notch. They have a good menu with a variety of choices. If there are any drawbacks it is the wait times for supper, and at times they seem to have problems knowing what is sweet tea and unsweet tea. read more

I have tried Chuy's several times now and I just don't get the hype or the massive wait times. Little Rock recently lost Cozymel and I think it was a much better establishment. Twice I've ordered chicken dishes and both times my chicken was chewy (is that why its named Chuy's??) the margaritas taste fine, but not packing much of a punch. My favorite thing was the creamy jalapeño dressing/salsa...but I found the recipe on Pinterest and will just make it at home from now on! Another major turnoff for me: it's so crowded and LOUD. I couldn't hear anything my dining companions said across the table. And the one time I got there ahead of the crowd they seated us right next to the server area where servers enter orders, refill drinks and apparently gather to gossip about other patrons. We love Chuy's! We've eaten at this location less frequently than the location north of the river, but still have eaten here too often to count. We have consistently experienced exceptional food and service. The staff seems to like working here and are super-friendly and helpful. The manager should be commended. We find the quality of the food to be very fresh and better than all other chain and locally-owned Mexican restaurants in the area. The prices are comparable to much lower quality Mexican fast food. We've taken out-of-state guests to this restaurant, and they much preferred it to the other, over-hyped Mexican restaurant down the road. The food tastes fresh here because it is freshly made. They have the best homemade flour and corn tortillas. (Not the biggest fan of the thicker, blue corn tortillas though.) Our favorite starters are the free salsa, jalapeño ranch dressing, and chips, cheese dip, guacamole, appetizer platter (includes cheese dip and guac in addition to other favorites.) The delicious tortilla soup for us is sometimes the meal if we get the app platter. For entrees, the soft ground sirloin beef tacos are by far the best I've eaten at any restaurant, the chicken flautas are likewise uniquely delicious with the divine chipotle sauce, and chicken fajitas rival any other restaurants. When we want a sample of even more, we get the Elvis platter for the variety. The veggie enchiladas are the best I've ever had, but not at the top of our list because we tend to be meat eaters. The free cheese dip bar (includes beef, refried beans, and salsa) is an amazing addition during the weeknights, Monday-Friday, 4-7 pm. Being from Texas I have also eaten at the original Chuy's in Austin and several others across the state. This one in Little Rock is as good as any I have ever eaten at and the staff is great! I was back in Little Rock again in February 2018 and was happy to return to Chuy's, a place I had loved a year ago. The atmosphere is loud and festive. And the menu has a great variety of Mexican items, and some choices for the Gringos looking for something more domestic. Again, I was so pleased with the combination plate I ordered, a chicken enchilada and a chicken chili relleno. The relleno remains among the best I've ever eaten. The filling is hearty but the item is then fried so nice and crisp. Our server, Josiah, was excellent. He kept beverages filled without having to ask, checked on how we were doing but was not hovering. Absolutely the best, and he is a real asset to this restaurant. Took my mom on a Friday night to the Chuy's in Little Rock. The host behind the desk, as we walked in, gave us a friendly "Welcome" but that was the end of the good/professional service that should be standard with every restaurant. After being seated by a not-so-friendly hostess, we were left for dead. For almost 15 min, we watched several waiters walk around and not one bothered to say "I'll be right right with you" or "Have you been helped?" After a while we said something to the waiter at the table next to us who said he'd find out who our waiter was and still nothing. So we decided to leave. Chili relleno was super crispy flavorful and cheese divine. A little ok the spicy side and just the way I like it! Kids meals are big portions. Combo plates are big eno th to take leftovers home. Salsa is the only drawback. It is fresh and chunky rather than a puréed or cooked down garlic salsa. Other than the salsa a 5-Star experience. First off, I have really enjoyed Chuy's. We have had several group dinners at Chuy's. But I have never had service like I did last night. I was infuriated. Our server, the food runners were very disorganized. We were a group of 9. I noticed the server had three other tables (a lady with two kids, a younger couple, and an older couple) all towards their end of their meals, receiving their checks. Our server greeted us. By the time we received our drinks, chips and salsa, and gave our orders, a long time had past. At this time, I understood because she had three tables all paying and leaving at the same time. Our food came out in two rounds. The runners brought half the food and served it to the table. The second round, the runners brought the food on the tray, sat the tray of food on a stand, and they walked off..... my husband and I looked at each other.... we waited.... waited.... while our food sat on the tray.... so my husband and I PASSED OUR OWN FOOD out to OUR TABLE! I walked up to the front to the hostess and asked to speak to a manager. Another server was up there and she asked if I was from the big table and that she had already told her manager what had happened. The next part is what really made me angry. The manager came to us, he's first words were, "How are we doing over here? Did you get all that you ordered?" Not an apology..... when I addressed what happened with our food. He replied, "Yes, that's why I came over here. I have already spoken to everyone about the miscommunication and how not to do this again." As a manager, the first thing you always tell your customers... is that you are sorry for their level of service, is there anything we can do for you, again deeply sorry..... Not a SORRY or hope you come back.... nothing.... so we will not be back. And no more group events there either. Chain Mexican restaurant with decent food. I do not like their salsa, but the chips were warm, thin, & crispy. Just the way I like them. I tried the grilled sirloin enchiladas today with a creamy sauce. They were good, but I felt they were understuffed. The creamy sauce (can't remember the official name) was excellent & I found myself dipping my chips in it. The refried beans were excellent as well, but I didn't care for the rice. We ate at Chuy's tonight in west Little Rock and I don't think we'll ever return. I bit down on an inch long piece of plastic bottle cap in the salsa. The meal itself (Veggie Enchilada) was not up to its usual standards. I've ordered this entree before and it was more favorable but not this time. Additionally I have regurgitated at least four woody avocado stems that apparently was in the guacamole. I wonder what else was in my meal. I no longer recommend this restaurant. read more
