My wife and I had read some reviews online that 's Mexican restaurant. We went there today around 1 o'clock. there were a fair there, but they had ample staff to handle it. our was very very slow. We three or four couples come in sit down and leave after no one waiting on them. We got two frozen margaritas the chips and salsa. The salsa was extremely hot and I can mild or medium, but this was overboard. There was a side dish of ranch dressing dip for the chips, which was uneventful. Everything on the menu was pretty high for lunch environment the. there was no separate items to order. The cheapest thing on the menu was about 12 bucks which we ordered. It taco salad supposedly with chicken fajita was chopped in the small cubes and there was no taco shell or bowl tortillas and the salad was just very bland. I will never be going back to Chuy's again because it is unlike any other Mexican restaurant that we have ever meant to. It wasn't any thing but lettuce and tomato with about 2 oz of chicken and a little bit of cheese. So disappointed !! read more

A family member is local to the area and recommended Chuy's while we were visiting. My kid loves tacos, so it was a perfect fit. When we arrived, we were told it'd be a 20-25 minute wait, which wasn't completely unexpected given that it was for Saturday evening dinner. The wait time ended up being a bit longer but the food sure made up for it! Everything was delicious and filling. Staff were courteous and attentive. This was during the pandemic and all staff were wearing masks and gloves. Masks are required when you're not seated at the table and they WILL enforce it. We had a wait time of 10 minutes on a Sunday night. The place wasn't that busy, so we just said it must have been the staff shortage. We went to the bar to grab a drink while we waited. We didn't see the bar tender for almost 10 minutes. We watched the staff just hanging out chatting talking. Have a wonderful time while at work, not worrying about the customers or carrying that we are waiting to be sat to eat dinner. We asked to sit outside but was told they didn't have the staff for outside. Yet, while walking up, there were plenty of people tables sitting outside. Overall, I'd go back because when we finally got survived, our services was okay, and the food was okay. I love that the staff was friendly and having a good time while working... Wow! When visiting a friend, I was excited to try this place (I always forget to try when in Texas). I sat at the bar and couldn't decide on a drink (so many options) and ate chips and salsa while deciding. Their chips had the perfect amount of salt and they were kind of thin, which I like. Really good salsa and made with the right spices. I ordered a red sangria while waiting on my food which was really good. Then I ordered a swirl of strawberry and peach sangria I believe. This place has the best frozen drinks by far. To eat, I ordered the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom and replaced one chicken with beef. I can't tell you how amazing my plate was. This was my first time at a Chuy's. We were here around noon on a Saturday and sat at the bar to avoid the 15-25 min wait. Bartender was friendly and had suggestions of her favorites and customer favorites. We ended up getting the Panchos with fajita beef and Chicken boom boom burrito which comes with beans and rice as well. The bartender also pointed out they're willing to customize things, so don't hesitate to ask. It was pretty quiet when we arrived but became progressively harder to hear each other talking as time went on. The boom boom sauce was delicious but I felt like the burrito and chicken itself was pretty dry. Those Panchos however were just amazing, the fajita beef was cooked great, would order again. This Texas-based Tex-mex chain has settled in after a few years to become one of the best chain restaurant experiences in town. Service is typically efficient and friendly. The bar area's "taco bar" gives early arrivals free queso--and its good queso. But the bargains sorta end there. Drinks can be slow out of the bar, they are a bit too sweet and certainly pricey. The entrees are well prepared, filling but bland--certainly far away from what you find in Austin or Santa Fe for that matter. Enchiladas are your best bet--I like the stacked New Mexico influenced dish. Tacos are inconsistent--last time my crispy taco arrived cold. The two different Elvis-themed dishes are fun, and tasty. But the entrees are pricey too--a couple of dollars more than the many fine traditional Mexican restaurants found throughout town. That's why I just can't make Chuy's a regular place--too many better options. read more

Very sad to be forced to write this review. Have been coming here for years and know many of the servers. It has now become a struggle to be tolerant of the attitude and lack of professionalism. Hosts and Hostesses are rude. The waits are long and inconsistent. Parties of 1 or 2 have double the wait times of 3-4. Wtf? It's the same 4-top table. The patio is the only reason to tolerate the b.s. The problem is, this establishment deems their patio an inconvenience and has to be begged to open the seating almost everyday. -- Plus, they seem to think sitting people on the small, shaded patio is a consolation prize for tolerating the wait and rudeness. REALLY HOPE MORE RESTAURANTS ADD PATIOS IN THE 'BORO. Cudos to some though ... and the reason for at least 1 star. We have been getting takeout from here at least weekly since they reopened after Covid. This last time, they told me that they only provide one small salsa and one small creamy per every two meals. It makes no sense. I had to pay 2.49 for 4 oz of creamy and then the same for salsa so we could each have our own and enough. Are you charging more in the restaurant to refill salsa and creamy bowls? The dip cups for takeout are not large enough to be shared especially for salsa. We will definitely not be ordering as much as we used to especially since I never know if the salsa will be too hot to eat. I'm honestly curious what happens if you order 1 or 3 meals. read more

Great Tex-Mex place when you want something just a little different from the traditional Mexican restaurant. The chips are always super thin and delicious, and they have plenty of additional dips for the chips besides just the pico de gallo and creamy jalapeño dips that they bring out (which are both great), but you have to ask for them (so don't be shy)! I usually get the combo fajitas with beef and chicken, which is always really good, but this last time it didn't come out sizzling like it usually does. The servers are pretty attentive, but they do get a little busy sometimes, which may cause a chip or water refill to take longer than it should. They took my favorite Elvis off the menu or this score would be higher. Still the best chips and salsa I've ever had and all the sauce varieties are what keeps me coming back. The hand-made tortilla stand was already closed for the night, so we missed out. The drink menu was good and the margaritas were excellent but pricy. My friend's food portions were good; however, the "burrito as large as my face" didn't seem to be as large as the burritos at other local places. The steak burrito did have a great taste, and the accompanying rice and beans were also nice and smoky. Before you go, make sure you understand that this is a Tex-Mex restaurant so you don't come expecting a full-on Mexican restaurant or you will be disappointed. The decor is loud and gaudy, which works for some and not for others. I was neutral on it. It does serve to set a very casual tone for the restaurant. My family likes Chuy's, we honestly do, it's convenient Text Mex for a fair price. We like Chuy's, just not this Murfreesboro location. The door staff is absolutely clueless seating the front of the house triple and quadruple literally overwhelming servers and therefore bogging down the back of the house and the bar. If you like Chuy's and are passing through on your way to Nashville, do yourself a favor and wait a few minutes and miles and go to that location, it's much better in size, cleanliness and service. read more

It was not cheap at $12 for one? Ordered a Margarita and it tasted watered down and not good at all for $8. Chips and salsa and their signature dip is about only thing that is really good there anymore. Sad use to be a great restaurant never came back to the same as pre Covid days. I don't care how good the food is, a patron asks to see a manager, they expect to see a manager. Tried to order enchiladas (by the way, the cheese is NEVER melted inside, I always expect they'll fix that but they never have), with their "famous red chile sauce" which is listed as a component of their Tex-Mex sauce but is not listed separately on the menu, but it turns out there's no such thing. The server tried to tell me their famous red is actually the Ranchero sauce, which actually makes no mention whatsoever of red chiles. Really? We were ready to order but I also I asked to talk to a manager afterward, figuring he/she would clarify the sauce thing for me. The server huffed off without taking our order, returning a short time later to re-explain what she had already told me about the sauces. I ordered the Tex-Mex sauce even though I didn't really want chile con carne in my sauce. And the enchiladas came...sans chile con carne! No explanation. The sauce that didn't exist magically appeared just for my order! If the rest of my order had been correct, and the server had kept her sense of humor, and the manager I asked to speak to had bothered to come talk to me, I would continue to come back. I hate doing this because I really like the food. I have been going to this restaurant since it opened, on average about once or twice a month. You have the worst damn pick up service in this town though. Seriously it takes forever to get food out. Either something is wrong with your kitchen staff, you're understaffed or the to go is understaffed. I really am tired of going to pick up an order and it taking 20-30 minutes after I arrive. I don't even want to go to your restaurant ever again because of this. I'm sure management probably thinks there's no issue, but something is wrong with here! My second visit to a Chuys, the first time we went to Franklin. We were meeting friends for dinner on a Friday night... and this place was PACKED! A good mix of people, young families with young kids, young couples, professionals, and adults (drinking heavily and enjoying themselves!!!) We start out at the bar and had a couple drinks as their happy hour ends at 7pm ($4 margaritas and $2.50 domestics), I think they had some food on happy hour as well, not sure what. They were generous with the nachos, salsa and creamy jalapeno dip. We were told the wait would be approx 35 minutes, but were promptly seated within about 20 minutes. Once our other couple arrived we had a few more drinks, chips and salsa and eventually ordered some food. The wife and I get burrito's (advertised as big as your head) and our friends got a chicken boom boom or something of the like and a set of fajitas. All the food was good, the wife didn't care for her ranchero sauce as it just wasn't what she thought it would be... but that is our own fault. Overall the service was pretty good, decently speedy and the atmosphere was good, but not as good as the Chuys in Franklin. We will be back eventually.... read more
