I really love the Tex Mex here, and their portions are huge. Their nachos are great, and I love that they evenly distribute toppings on each chip. Their chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas are my favorite, and they are stuffed with chicken and topped with a really good chili sauce. The fajitas are served in really big portions, and they are cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is fun and the service at the bar is especially great- shout out to Zane for being friendly and on top of everything! Seating in the bar area is first come first serve, so if there's a wait for tables don't forget to check the bar. read more

The cherry limeade cocktail was delicious and the server was adorable and sweet so they each get a star but the fajitas were very disappointing... if I wanted fake grilled chicken breast with that fake smoke taste on it I would have just bought a bag of grilled chicken slices from Costco cause that's what it tasted like ... and the flour tortillas where stiff and way to floury( if that's a word). I really like Chuy's for what they are there is other Tex-Mex restaurants which are better but I'm not always by them.So this place has my vote but not all Chuy's are created equally. When I come to this location the food is always good! Chips and Salsa are good as well along with management.Always friendly and will to go the extra mile to make sure your happy! Deliciously spicy, generously portioned Tex-Mex food and bevvies. The service was on point and I wound up having leftovers for a few subsequent meals. Note: The food from Chuy's reheats really well. Where to start..... welll, today is the 15th, of August, at 4:27 now. Me and four friends came in, it was a busy afternoon, there might've been 4 tables, maybe 5. After approximately 7 minutes, we finally got chips and salsa. After about 12 minutes and nobody coming by to get a little ol' drink order, we decided to make our way to Texas Roadhouse across the street where they were happy to have us. My girlfriend left her purse inside, had to go back in to get it and was letting the "server" know that we decided to leave because they were that bad at their job. This is the best Tex Mex I've had in a long time. I had 50 minutes for lunch and was in and out in 35. Unbelievably delicious tortilla chips and salsa were served up when I sat down. There is a wide selection of different types of dishes available on the menu. I ordered the steak burrito and a side of green chili salsa. The burrito came with a side of rice and beans. I am SO glad there's a Chuy's in Tulsa now. This has always been my favorite Tex-Mex place in Austin so it was a pleasant surprise when I found this one by accident. They've done a fantastic job of re-creating the experience here. The food/menu/drinks are all the same awesome items, and even the decor makes me think I'm inside the Chuy's on Barton Springs. There are a few important things I must mention before I actually get to my review: 1st- I grew up on Chuy's. Being from Austin, I was within a 2-3 mile radius of a Chuy's at all times. When I moved to Oklahoma in 2007, I cried sad-tears for Chuy's and some extra sad-tears for the Creamy Jalapeno Dip- which is capitalized because it deserves to be a proper noun. So let's just say I am a Chuy's fan at heart, and will accept no impostors. 2nd- I live in Midtown Tulsa and my husband and I avoid going south of 51st- 41st street, really- if at all possible. I really wish they would replace the snoozefest that is Mi Cocina on Cherry Street with a Chuy's- I think I would never ever leave Midtown if this happened. This Chuy's is even better than El Guapo- where the drinks and rooftop patio can't be beat, but the food and service = meh. That being said, it takes a lot to get us headed south, but this Chuy's will get me on the BA to 71st street in a HEARTBEAT. Which leads me to my review... I've been to this Chuy's location 9 times since it has opened, and it just keeps getting better each time. I think the only real difference between this location and my hometown favorites is that I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for a table. It's MAGICAL. #1- PATIO. OMG. PATIO. It's covered, no one really ever sits on it for some reason, and the service is still attentive. The view is... well... it's on the 71st street corridor so there you go, but you'll be too busy smiling at your partners-in-Chuy's while enjoying your drink and food to notice. #2- CREAMY JALAPENO DIP. As previously mentioned, accept no substitutes or impostors. This location definitely had to work the kinks out, and this past Thursday night was the first time I've been since it opened that I have not had to *request* the creamy jalapeno. Regardless, it's always been there, and it's always fabulous. #3- Food is consistently delicious and the prices are right. My absolute favorite Chuy's menu item of all time is the chicken tortilla soup. I also love the Chuychanga and my husband loves the enchiladas. Have never ordered anything we did not thoroughly enjoy. The Boom-Boom sauce is where it's at! #4- True to Chuy's form, the drinks are excellent. My husband usually gets a Chuy's brew (corona served inside a margarita) or a Texas-tini (which you are cut off after 2) and I usually stick to a swirl (mango-lime is my favorite combo). This Thursday they had the watermelon margarita again... yummy!! #5- They had to work out the kinks for the service but as mentioned above, it just keeps getting better and better. Tulsa Daycation 2012 Review I hadn't been to a Chuy's in ages when we stopped in yesterday for a late lunch before heading back to OKC after our little Tulsa sojourn. The place is cute and clean, and we were seated right away at a comfy booth. We enjoyed the chips and salsa, as well as an order of unbelievably creamy guacamole. A side of tomatilla salsa really made the starters perfect. I also had a very yummy skinny margarita. I also tried a sip (or four!) of my sister's Chuy's brew, a frozen margarita with an upended beer inside (we went for a full size Pacifico rather than a Coronita). That was a surprisingly yummy drink. My sister and I split the chicken fajitas. The main thing that stands out about the fajitas is the homemade flour tortillas. The chicken, onions, peppers and rice were good, but I could literally just eat tortillas. But that's frowned upon once you pass the ripe old age of three, so I just had one tortilla. If we had a Chuy's in OKC I'd probably need to start running. The waiters were great, and I say waiters plural because even though we had the same guy take our order and deliver drinks and our check, during the course of the meal, we had multiple people bringing us refills, napkins, extra chips, etc. Seemed to operate like a well-oiled machine. It was a wonderful meal. The only reason I don't give five stars is that perhaps I had it built up too much in my head; I thought it was going to be the best Mexican food I'd had in years, but really it was just fresh, high quality, well-prepared food. It was not the fresh flavor explosion I thought I had been missing all these years, but still a very solid four. I think if I went back I would skip the guacamole appetizer. I ate too many chips to really savor my meal. I enjoyed it, but not nearly as much as I could have if I had still had room to properly devour my fajitas. read more

I wish there was an option for 2.5 stars. As much as I LOVE Chuys, I've eaten here well over 10 times, it seems the management is very lacking. Out of my last 4 visits I've had issues with either A) My order being wrong, or B) Bad service. Here's a quick history of my last few dinners, for a bit of backstory: - my waiter may forget my drink refill/bring out the wrong order - or my table/silverware may be dirty (happened twice now, we're talking brown grease across the top of it, probably from a fellow burrito lover) - or the server will forget we're on the patio and I'll have to track him down (and he had TWO tables out there, we just sat there and stared at each other like shipwreck survivors, wondering what the others would taste like if we ended up having to eat them out of desperation). - or they'll drop the queso right before they get to the table (such a tease!) and it'll streak down the purse of the lady next to us ( no manager said sorry for that incident either!) I'm prompted now, however, to write this review after dinner tonight. See, I order the exact same thing when I visit. Every. Single. Time. It's the Steak Burrito with queso on top, and queso on the rice. That's it. It's not rocket science, and I don't feel like I'm being picky. Hell, you tell me. So, I go in tonight, the 4th out of 4 lackluster experiences, and order my usual. Everything is going fine, the waitress brings our drinks, salsa, chips, and that delicious ranch they like to call creamy jalepeno sauce (okay, it's creamy, but certainly not worthy of the jalepeno designation). After a small 10 minute wait our food arrives and, lo and behold, my order is wrong. Except, it's not just wrong in the sense they forgot the queso, it's wrong in that it's the completely wrong burrito. The food runner was awesome and explained what it was she was handing me and we figured out together that it was certainly not what I ordered. Waitress comes over and admits it was her fault, she entered the wrong burrito. ....but then she starts backpedaling and saying that when you order queso on it, the burrito then becomes a Fajita burrito which also has beans in it. Now, I'm not picky with my food. I eat just about anything. Except, I came there specifically for a Steak Burrito which has no beans at all. She takes the offending burrito away and brings me the correct Steak Burrito no more than 10 minutes later. Excellent timing on the resolution. Now, here's my issue. Not once, out of 4 bad experiences, has a manager graced the table with an apology or any sort of comp. Not even an appetizer coupon! Seriously, how much does it take for a manager to come by your table and simply say "I'm sorry, we messed up, it was our fault and your Steak Burrito is on us tonight." That being said, I still always tip 20% and pay my meal without a fuss. I was a waiter once, I know the job can really suck sometimes, so I don't give anyone flak because I truly don't care. BUT, it's the managers job, not the servers, to correct mistakes and make sure the guest is happy. I shouldn't have to raise a fuss, they should just come over on their own accord, because hey, that makes sense as a business. And, since it takes a manager to comp a meal in the system, they certainly know the table has an issue. Ignorance is no excuse. So, to summarize, GREAT food. I seriously love that burrito. The Flautas are very good as well, my girlfriend orders those often. But, the service and management are the real downfalls of the restaurant. So I'll be back. And everything may go wrong. BUT, I'll get that burrito....eventually. And I'll tip my 20%. And everything will remain as it was, and as it apparently always will be. read more

I really love the tortillas. The best in town. I like to get the beef fajitas. I don't eat a lot of beef but the beef fajitas are tender, juicy and flavorful. My daughter likes to order the chicken salads. I've not had much luck with the chicken salads. The Chicka Chicka boom boom is delish. The chips and salsa are always fresh. I have the pleasure of dining here a few times while scouting college in Oklahoma and was impressed with the service and the food. I've eaten as several Chuy's in Texas but never received the type of personal service I did here. The bartenders were great! Everything started off okay, until while I was drinking my tea a chunk of something came in my mouth. I was hopping it was a piece of lemon even though I didn't have a lemon but it wasnt. I couldn't tell what the hell it was. I let the server know. He of course apologized and did his part let the manager know. I wanted to leave but I was with my pregnant daughter and youngest daughter who was starving so I decided to stay. They gave me with A CAKE to share with my daughters. Almost everyone I know has been to Chuy's and after my first visit, I can now see why. Chuy's is a pretty typical Tex-Mex chain with a few cool twists. For starters, it is loaded with decorations and flair on the walls and ceiling. There is a very fun, lighthearted atmosphere. It strangely reminds me of Chotchkie's from Office Space. I also liked the chip bar, located in the back of a classic car. Load up on chips and salsa and then ask your waiter to bring the jalapeno dip - it tastes like a spicy ranch and is excellent! Because I loaded up on chips and jalapeno dip, I didn't want a big meal to follow. I shared a watermelon frozen margarita and had the chicken tortilla soup. The margarita did taste like watermelon (which is an unusual margarita flavor) but was very watery. There are much better margaritas at El Guapo. Chicken tortilla soup is traditionally made with chicken broth, as was this one, but this version was a little too watery. It was tasty, but I did feel like I was drinking warm chicken broth with Tex-Mex ingredients floating in it. I'm glad I ordered it though, because I saw other people's entrees and they were enormous. (I sampled someone's burrito and it was good but nothing special.) Finally, their selection of beers was limited. I had a Pacifico, which has a lighter color and flavor. Worth the wait! It may take awhile to get in but the food is awesome. I am the only meat eater in my family, so my family loves a good Mexican restaurant, where they can get burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, etc. This place has these "big as yo face" burritos that don't disappoint. In many places around town, my son is still hungry after ordering the bean burrito...but not here. The burrito is huge, and it's served with a vegetarian ranchero sauce that is not your ordinary red sauce. I had the combo fajitas, and they were great too.
