    Michelada - yum!
    Ashley A.

I'm so happy I turned around to try this place. It's small, casual and very clean. I ordered the lunch taco salad and the shredded chicken reminded me of my grandmother's recipe. The star of the show was the michelada -- if you drink alcohol, treat yourself. Scrumptious. And my server was very sweet. He even gave me a coupon for my next visit to their 61st and Sheridan location. He says it has a full bar and is much bigger. I'll go there next. Enjoy!

I wanted to try fajitas from a place that is called fajitas because I was certain they'd perfected it. My husband and I went for a late lunch ordered the beef fajitas and green chile verde plate. I truly judge a Mexican restaurant by the taste of the beans and rice. I had high hopes for this restaurant but I was left disappointed. The chile verde was so bland, not even a slight hit of spice. The rice and beans were also flavorless. The flour tortillas were definitely store bought, couldn't finish 1. With all the Mexican restaurant's around, it's hard to compare with homemade tortillas and a more authentic seasoning. The fajitas were good but nothing special to make me go back.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. Parking is plentiful. It was quiet when we arrived, we were greeted and seated quickly. The chips and salsa were good. My friend enjoyed her torta. The fries were a little salty. The fajitas were good, I liked the refried beans. I wasn't a huge fan of the rice and the side of guacamole was expensive for the portion size.

Best salsa! Best chile verde!! Best pollo con chorizo!!! And the service was amazing We finished mountain biking in Claremore and stopped here for dinner based on the reviews before we returned to OKC. Glad we did bc now we know where we're grabbing dinner on our way home from now on

First time here. Chile relleno was super hot, I couldn't even eat it. Tacos were very bland & needed seasoning. Service was great. The restaurant and restroom were immaculate.

I liked it! The queso blanco was delicious and the right thickness served hot. The salsa was an acceptable level of spicy. And JEEZE that burrito was huge!! I'd go back and try their signature fajitas.

He even brought our beers with a cocktail glass with salt, which was a nice touch. The SALSA was too HOT! We tried a couple of them, & we couldn't taste anything for the heat. I usually like a little heat, but this was over the top hot. My husband felt the same way & I've talked to a couple other people since then & they said the same thing. We asked the waiter if there was a mild salsa, but he said there was not. I would certainly encourage you to consider making a milder one. I ordered the crispy enchiladas served with ensalada y avocado, along with beans & rice. I also ordered one tamale to try. Everything was delicious. Very good quality food. The tamale was one of the best I've ever eaten. My husband ordered the brisket tacos & found them too greasy, which is unusual for him; however he was agreeable to eating there again, but would try another dish. We will be back, but will just skip the salsa & brisket tacos!

We ordered our food and I got the crispy taco dinner. I will say the place was busy, but we had to wait nearly an hour for our food, and they didn't even bring everyone's food out. It took another 15 minutes for them to bring the rest of the food. Overall, the chips and queso was very good, and the food came out fresh and hot. My tacos were delicious. Our waiter was very nice and apologetic about the wait time. The place had a very nice interior and had clean bathrooms, to go along with a great ambiance. Overall, this place gave us a pretty solid experience and I would recommend it if you are looking for good Mexican food in the Tulsa area.

It's well-worn but clean. Staff is quick and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. You'll leave full, but not bloated. I've been a fan of El Rio Verde for many years and always look forward to eating here. It's not a large place and only has perhaps four or five booths and a half-dozen tables, and it fills up fast at lunch. They're known for their "Wet Burrito," but the enchiladas and burritos are also outstanding. The refried beans are fresh and made in-house. The salsa is freshly made too and very good, but not memorable like the food. You'll see people from all walks of life eating here - couples, single moms with children, police officers, business people, blue collar workers, and everyone in-between. If you want really good Mexican food that is not TexMex or from a chain restaurant, try this place! You won't regret it! One of my favorite places in Tulsa. However, as of this review, be aware that Utica Avenue, just east of the restaurant, has been blocked to north-bound traffic only for water main replacement, so getting into the neighborhood is easier than leaving. Plan to go toward downtown on the service road next to I-244 for most efficient egress.
