We very much enjoy a quick work lunch at Ciao Baby! Very friendly, local owners, very clean and a delicious meal.

I cut myself down to one cheat day a week... I had a bad day and really wanted some comfort food. I saw the very mixed reviews for Ciao Baby and wanted to give it a chance. We walked in and stood at the end of the counter reading the menu for probably 10 minutes.. until I noticed no one was waiting to take our order? So I asked the guy behind the counter if we order here... no response... Mitch asked... no response... So we just kept walking. The counters are set up completely backwards.. The register should be where you order or you should start making your pizza at the end and pay at the register... I ordered a margarita pizza with mushrooms and Mitch H. ordered the four meat pizza. We sat ourselves and realized there was no napkins, silverware, red pepper flakes, or Parmesan on the table. I got back up and grabbed it all.. Finally the pizza came and I wanted to look up and ask "WHERE IS THE CHEESE?" I love fresh mozzarella, dont get my wrong but 1 glob on each slice is just not cheesy enough for me. Everything else about the pizza was great! Just not enough cheese and that makes or breaks pizza for me. I only ate a few pieces and decided to waste my calories in ice cream instead! First time visiting. Wife and I split the margherita pizza base and it was plenty for two. The pizza is made fresh and baked quickly in the wood-fired oven. The taste was very clean and flavorful. Learned from the owner that they use all fresh ingredients and that was obvious in the great taste of the pizza. (Talk to him if you get a chance,as he is passionate about what he is doing). This is not chain-style pizza, instead being authentic Naples style pizza. We will definitely go back as it is one of the best tasting pizzas I have had. The ordering process was a little confusing because when you enter, it looks as if you will order your ingredients as with a popular sandwich line, because you see the dough station and each available ingredient. These are just for your inspection, as you go to the end of the counter to order at the register. I would recommend that they direct people on how the ordering process works as customer familiarity with cafeteria style ordering might be confused by the similar layout at a pizza place. Regardless, I know the process now and this is now our favorite pizza in west TN. read more

Legitimately the BEST Italian I've had in the Mid-South...and it's not close!!! My wife and I split the BBQ Chicken Pizza. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. My daughter (a picky 7 year old) devoured her cheese pizza. We wanted to try a dessert. We couldn't choose between a cannoli, dough bites, or the bread pudding...so we splurged and did all 3! We're glad we did! My daughter took care of the dough bites. We all took bites of the cannoli. It was wonderful. Then I handled the bread pudding. Sorry Mom, it was the BEST BREAD PUDDING I've ever eaten...and I've eaten a lot! We are 35 minutes away from this place and we will happily drive here again and again. read more

This has to be the best pizza in town. I felt like I was in Italy. Garlic knots were baked to perfection. We tried two different pizzas, Margarita and a pistachio pesto that was out of this world. I have to share my experience today with Ciao Baby Wood Fired Pizza and Italian Kitchen - Used a third party delivery service to order dinner for my family to be delivered. After waiting over an hour, I receive a message from the delivery company that it will be another hour before the food is delivered. So I called Ciao Baby and spoke with the owner. The delivery service had made some mistake and to make a long story short, he got right in his car and personally delivered the food to my door and then wouldn't accept a tip. His kindness nearly made me cry. And then the food was, of course, fantastic. I am quite literally blown away. We have to support local businesses like this one! read more

The pizza and bread pudding are tasty. They might need to sharpen their pizza slicers though. The toppings also slide off the pizza easily. Minor inconveniences aside the crust is fantastic and you can tell the ingredients are high quality. read more

Dining while traveling is always risky which is why I love Yelp reviews! Made a quick run to Memphis and was like hmmm I want some pizza. Ciao Baby seemed like fun. All of the options were a bit overwhelming but the staff was super friendly and explained the process and how they cooked their pizza. What caught my eye was the thin but soft crust b/c the hubs hates crunchy bread! We had salad and a custom pizza. Everything was super fresh and yum. Garlic Knots were phenomenal, pizza was great, toasted ravioli was just OK. The garlic knots were crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The olive oil and garlic were wonderful!!! We were in town for a soccer tournament and some friends met us at this place. The wood fired grill in the dining area was a big hit with the kids. Our food was prepared quickly and the quality was nice. The bus boy did knock a glass of wine over onto my wife. However, the staff was very apologetic and more than made up for the mistake. The pizza is far above average with fresh ingredients, chunky tomatoes, thin sliced onions, chunks of mozzarella and don't forget to ask them to add some garlic, even the table shaker has fresh parmesan all done in a brick fire oven. The bruschetta sandwich is crazy good, artisan bread oven fired with chicken parmesan cutlet and tomatoes, onion and fresh basil, nice. The house salad is excellent, period. They've got a decent beer selection and some good dinner wines, all in all a very nice meal with drinks for 2 around $30.00. The owner and his family are Italian and hail from Brooklyn where you never have a problem finding good pizza and great Italian. The use a 900° Neapolitan wood fire oven and lots of fresh ingredients. Pesto is amazing, Bianco salad outstanding, just everything we've had on each visit has been excellent. I have had Italian in Little Italy, Federal Hill and home cooked from close Italian friends and this is the real deal. I give them 5 stars and highly recommend this place. Salute! read more

Can't go wrong here. After our meal, the owner came out and we had a good discussion on how his business operates. He starts every morning and makes it all from scratch including the cheeses. No store bought cheeses. We had the two meat and the flavor was spectacular. This will become our defacto "pizza joint" from now on.
