Every woman is particular about their eyebrows, but I felt like Chao understands that and does her very best to get you the results you desire. Chao was kind, smart, articulate. She is very professional and driven, which I really liked. My initial appointment she assured me how it would be and I was very comfortable and relaxed. She was gracious and kind, and offered to thread my upper lips while we waited for the ink to set on my brows. I had never threaded before, it was interesting and painless. Then when I went in for my touch up six weeks later, she offered me to try out a simple lash extension free of charge to see if I liked how it felt (the weight and feeling over the eye) since I had never done that before either. I've now had two lash fills by Chao and loving them even more! I went for my 1st lash fill just a week before Christmas and asked her to make them a little longer for me. She said no, only because she had her reasoning. She informed me that my own lashes aren't that thick to hold a long lash and therefore will result in my own lashes falling off too early/sooner for their lash cycle. This review is long overdue for Chao and her amazing abilities. I had gotten eyelash extensions once before I met Chao, and the lashes fell off within two weeks. I went to Chao two weeks before my honeymoon for an initial set based on the positive yelp reviews. She evaluated my eyelashes and suggested a curlier, thinner type of lash based on my profession (since I wear loupes everyday for work, my lashes would hit the glass and fall out faster with a longer lash type). I was so pleased I went back for a two week refill right before my month long honeymoon. I asked Chao if the lashes would last a month, and she estimated about 3 weeks. During the honeymoon, I didn't wear eye makeup at all and the lashes lasted until now (it's been over five weeks). I had a great experience for my first time at Ciao Bella! I had been wanting to try a lash lift for some time, but never actually pulled the trigger. A few days ago I was browsing late at night for a salon that had great reviews for lifts, and came across Ciao Bella. Lucky enough, they had one spot open the next morning, otherwise not for another couple of weeks. I was hesitating bc I wasn't sure if I could make that time work, so I decided to wait until the morning to see if I could move some meetings around. I went on the site again and the spot was gone - ugh! But I wasn't sure if it was bc it was the day of, or bc someone had taken it. So I called the salon (which was closed) and left a message, hoping they would get it before the appointment time. Within 15 minutes or so, I had a call back from Chao (the owner), letting me know that the spot was still open - score! It was an hour 'til, so I got ready and headed over. Chao greeted me, had me sign some release forms, and then directed me to a bed and started working on me. This is a 1.5 hour session, so she started asking me questions to encourage conversation, and instantly found myself telling her everything about my love life, LOL! She was very easy to talk to and offered advice with no judgement. Next thing I knew, my lashes were done and I was in love!!! They looked so perfectly curled and they are my OWN. Totally worth the $150, we'll see how well they hold up with the elements.
