By far, the best Italian I've had in south Florida. Service was impeccable and very friendly, they brought out the food very quickly and always checked on the table. I appreciate family restaurants and this was a very personable experience. The meatball platter was huge, enough to fill us and save for leftovers. We also got a Margherita pizza that was AMAZING. We have been to Bruscos 2 times this year . Both times the 3 of us have been happy with everything! The place is a hidden gem in Deerfield beach!!! It reminds us of home (Rochester ny) I had the Zuppa di pesh My wife had mussels marinara and my daughter had a shrimp dish all were outstanding ! The salad was a bit small but good! Last night 11-7-14 we ordered the antipasto and a Sicilian pizza half margarita and half pepperoni another awesome meal !!! The staff is always friendly .. Prices are average . And food is AWESOME !! The decor is old and dingy. I have never had a worst salad in an Italian restaurant. I ordered manicotti which was ok. We asked for extra sauce and the waiter never brought it. Brusco's has been around forever ... and you have to wonder why/how. A Thursday evening in the middle of the season, all the other local eateries are packed, and this place? Well, heck, when I walked in the door, the joint was empty. Completely devoid of anyone. Perhaps they got the memo. Ordered online (cost me $4.50 extra) pasta fagioli and spaghetti with oil/garlic. Out the door, without tip or that $4.50 fee was $32.00. 1. Came with bread, quite literally the most tiresome loaf of white bread ever made -- no taste, sort of a squishy consistency, and failed at its job of dipping in the soup. Oh, about that soup. 2. I thought, well it can't get any worse than the bread. Ha, was I ever wrong! Props to heating it to 3,000 degrees, that was a joy! Once it cooled down to the temperature of molten lead, I took a bite, and well, molten lead probably tastes better. If I am allowed to be redundant here, boring bread meet boring soup. 3. All that takes us to the spaghetti with oil/garlic (aka aglio e olio) - probably my all time Italian dish. Brusco's served quite a small portion for $13.00, but it looks good! Seems to have enough oil and lots of good looking garlic, man this is going to... Wait! Seriously, did they cook the spaghetti? The pasta is completely undercooked. How is that possible, as this dish's temperature is in the upper four digits? To sum up. Inconsequential bread, soup not worthy of a can, and pasta barely out of the box. Run, don't walk, away from Brusco Italian Restaurant. read more

This was our first visit to this restaurant and came here because we heard the Pizza was good. This is a small restaurant in a strip plaza on Federal highway. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Thursday evening mid January and there were only 2 other tables seated which is shocking as most other restaurants are packed this time of year. The decor was quaint and the service was fine, but the food and value for the price paid was disappointing. We had Pizza and a Chix Parm. The pizza looked good and had a nice crispy crust but lacked flavor. It was simply bland. The chicken parm was average and over priced. They served bread before the meal came out which was the equivalent to a warmed up plain hot dog bun! They nickel and dime for everything. $3 extra for whole wheat pasta or to sub broccoli as a side. $15 sharing charge? $5 for a bottle of domestic beer? $7 for a cannoli? We tend to cater to locally owned restaurants but this is one we will never visit again. read more

When you think to yourself "I feel like authentic Italian" go here or order take out. They've been in business for 60 years which should be all you need to know. In case you're not convinced yet an individual serving usually feeds me for 2 meals. The food is always fresh - nothing is frozen. That means they don't cook it until you order it unlike many places that freeze and reheat their most popular dishes. This is one of our favorite stops whenever we are north from Ft Lauderdale or Pompano to our home in West Palm beach. My oldest sisters is partial to their spaghetti and meatballs... huge serving! My other sister usually orders eggplant parmigiana and I have recently discovered the chicken Bianca....thin pieces of lightly floured and sautéed chicken with a sauce made of mushrooms, onions, butter, wine and a hint of lemon. I went to Brusco's twice. I found the restaurant to be quaint with a decent homage to Italy. The owner and his mom were nice people, especially the mom. But the staff leaves much to desire. I noticed when we first walked in and sat down that the staff seemed pre-occupied. Although the wait person came to take our order I still couldn't help but notice everyone else hanging around. Although we dined early - 6 pm it came off odd. This review is based on my second time at the restaurant. First off there were only two tables occupied including us. The other group was pretty much finished and was just chatting. When we were ready to order I found the waitress rude and not very accommodating. We ordered a calamari appetizer and two ravioli dishes. When a different server brought out the calamari - he dropped a few off our plate when trying to put the plate on our table. I've never seen that happen in all my years of dinning. But I didn't make a fuss over that but unfortunately that was not the first issue we had. When it came time the waitress brought out ONE order of raviolis which by the way (6 count) 14 dollars is pretty pricy. Yes only ONE plate, she stated that the other would be coming right out. Well 5 minutes went by, 10 minutes went by, 15 minutes! Finally after 20 minutes - I asked the waiter "hey what's up with my raviolis'? He went to the back to find out. Then the owner came over with a worried look and cleared my father's long finished plate away, I told the owner hey forget about my order. He said oh it's coming right out which it FINALLY did. I even ordered a dessert after all that (cannoli 7 dollars!) which was average. In the end can you believe that no explanation was given for my late arriving order! No apology! The waitress had a serious attitude and was defiant in her mannerisms. And to top it all off no discount was given for the dropping of our appetizer or the extremely late arriving food! Unheard of!!! To top it off my father is a regular! Who treats their customers this way? By the way the restaurant was empty! How do you forget to place an order when only one table with two people sitting there are ordering?! I was in town visiting from Los Angeles and I'm not sure how long this place has been around but I'm betting they won't last with this level of service at these prices!! read more

Working as a cook for five years and a chef for one this is one of the most appalling excuses for a Italian restaurant i have encountered. Im giving it 2 stars due to the fact it was a Sunday, and you used real garlic, other than than that your garlic oil you pour over your toasted store bought dinner rolls is a terrible and cheap excuse for a "garlic knott " or garlic bread and border line any excuse for human consumption i have ever tasted. I can LITERALLY ring the bread and watch it drip oil.... your " marinara sauce " also store bought is a sugar fulled ketchup that should also not be fed to any human being. On top of that as a manager three phone calls later we receive our order and to " VERIFY " i have to call the restaurant in front of the delivery driver???? Based on Yelp reviews, I decided to try this place.....VERY glad I did! Quaint, cute decor. Not busy, but got rather busy before we left....mostly local regulars. And, that speaks well for Brusco's. Maximillan was our server....so nice and helpful. Salad was crisp and fresh, and not too much. Bread was average...I would have preferred more crustiness and good oil to dip in. My mom had Chicken Parm/pasta side.....very good and large portion. I had Snapper Francais'....YUMMY!!!! Excellent! Light, melted in your mouth. Linguine with Lemon Butter Sauce al dente and good. Handpicked this place for a birthday dinner, we really made a bad decision. By the end of our dining experience we were all mad, frustrated and appalled about the service we received and there was 13 of us. We had major issues with food not arriving all together and when we asked about it, we received a laundry list of excuses and a sorry attempt of an apology. Since now everyone else has eaten, we asked to cancel the order and were told its too late with a very defensive attitude towards us. After expressing our dissatisfaction the waitress proceeded to argue with one of our guests. Not at any moment were we given a sincere apology and not one attempt to accommodate us for the troubles. After all said and done with the food we now had to face a mess of the bill; things being overcharged, added to wrong checks and an automatic 20% gratuity added to the checks. When asked to reevaluate the 20%, I was told that's their policy and can't be changed. We left there feeling like somehow all the issues were our fault when they admitted to messing up on the order, having technical issues and whatever else they had go wrong. After finally wrapping things up we witnessed/heard the staff congregated in the corner talking about us, not professional at all, at least wait for us to leave. Attempting to end this on a positive note, the food we did actually get to eat was very good. Unfortunately, I will not patronize an establishment that argues with customers and cannot properly address things when mistakes are made. read more

Just moved to the area and decided to give Brusco's a try... It was a good choice! Had the 14" Pizza which tasted great and was enough food for the two of us. We got our pizza to go, but next time we will dine-in and order a meal off the menu. They have many nice looking dishes and of course they have all the common dishes you would expect like pasta, chicken, veal and more. I used to frequent Brusco's years ago. It used to be great. Unfortunately, the restaurant has degraded. The food still seems good. The service is not so good. Items from the menu were not available; the waitress was barely available in an almost empty restaurant. I hope one day it will return to how it used to be. read more

This is the best Italian food around! The recipes are family recipes. The Pasta Fagioli is the best I have ever had from any italian restaurant. The Chicken Parm is on point, portions are fair. The inside is very cozy and welcoming and the staff is friendly. I do worry when I go in here though, the owner does not look to be in good health and Im concerned, he's a nice guy! read more
