Love their outside area the boardwalk even though it rained and we did not sit outside

Service was amazing, the food delicious! I ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the meatball lasagna and it did not disappoint! We will be back soon!

Exploring the Marblehead peninsula on a random Sunday afternoon with my sweetie, we decided to try something different for lunch. After searching on Yelp and discussing our options, we quickly settled on Ciao Bella on the Lakeside end of Port Clinton. Arriving at the large parking lot, I was super glad there were multiple signs pointing us toward the central building by the lake, as we otherwise would have spent entirely too long searching for the restaurant amongst all the buildings. Being 1pm on a Sunday during winter, the hostess gave us our choice of tables in the dark but otherwise nearly empty dining room, so we picked one with a lakefront view. In short order Reece, our attentive waiter, brought us waters and took our order for a Calabrese pizza ($17) on a gluten-free cauliflower crust. After a surprisingly short wait, our pizza arrived, and it was delicious! The cauliflower crust was not over-baked (as often happens with gluten-free crusts), and the capicola was -just like the menu said- pleasantly spicy. We both found the salami and sausage to be very good, and the addition of fresh cut basil liberally sprinkled across the top of the pizza completed the package. We found Reece to be very friendly and approachable, and he did a great job checking on us and bringing us an extra carafe of water. PROS: very attentive staff, excellent food CONS: we had no complaints of issues during our visit. Overall we found Diao Bella to be Very Good, and look forward to returning!

We spent the day at Cedar Point and were ready for some authentic Italian Food. The whole family was famished from the day at the park, and the restaurant was first-class from seating us expeditiously to the fantastic service. The food was amazing and there was a lot of it too, from their homemade bread to the sultry appetizers, we went home very satisfied and full. The teens even complimented the portion size and great taste. Prices were very fair, and the atmosphere was magical making this a very memorable experience. We will definitely check out Ciao Bella again.

Saying it was good would be an understatement! The cuisine was amazing, our server was very attentive to our menu preferences, and the manager was accommodating and courteous. Will return when in the area! Great restaurant

Ordered Ciao Bella on line and picked it up at the restaurant. The food was packaged very well and it was tasty and fantastic. The ceasar salad was crisp and fresh and we shared the Chicken Parm which was excellent. Also ordered a side of Spaghetti which was perfectly done with just the right amount of sauce. It was an excellent choice to order from Ciao Bella......

Your site says it's not open until 4. However, during the season it's open for lunch. The food is Italian as the name denotes. We had a lunch combo. My husband had the lasagna and soup(sausage and white bean). It was awesome. I had the portable mushroom ravioli and the same soup. Amazing. This is fast becoming one of our favorites places. Outside seating available right on the water. Lovely place with great atmosphere vibe.

I love their food. I've been going there since 2022 and I always order the mushroom ravioli. It's so good! I will not be able to dine there this year, but hopefully I'll be back next year.

Horrible service. Rude. And excessively late and confusing. For the money paid not worth the aggravation, would have rather skipped.

That being said, you'll get more authentic Italian food at an Olive Garden than you will here. The bruschetta was just diced tomatoes on little slices of toast and a thick slice of cheese. No olive oil, absolutely no garlic, and no salt. I've never heard of an Italian restaurant that didn't use so much as a clove of garlic. I saw a little fleck of basil here and there, but it was essentially flavorless. I ordered the Alfredo and when it came out it tasted like burnt rubber and was inedible. The house Italian salad dressing tasted like pizza sauce with a lot of vinegar mixed in and was disgusting. Honestly it seemed like whoever put together the menu has never eaten Italian food before. Either that, or their aversion to garlic and flavor in general can only explained by vampirism. That might actually explain the lack of mirrors come to think of it. The service was also lackluster. Our waiter was civil but was visibly irritated when my party of three requested separate checks and even more so when one of us requested a salad without cheese due to an allergy. The atmosphere was nice, but when we mentioned the lack of cell reception we were told they opted for a decorative tin panel ceiling that blocks cell reception. Why that was a choice is unclear but it seems it was done on purpose which seems odd. Probably so people won't be able to Google what Italian food is supposed to taste like. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

Under new management, the place has continued the Martello family tradition of great, handcrafted food in a hometown setting, but with a bit of an updated vibe. First, they do a fantastic job with gluten free options, and the chef's specials are phenomenal, also often with a GF capability. They have an artisan pizza crust,; tortellini; penne; and a Parmesan cream sauce -- all GF! The pizza crust is really terrific - much more like a "real" crust (which, their regular pizza is something I miss!) and they provide you with topping options that go from routine to delectably less common. I highly recommend their specials -- the chef is super talented; I love the steak tips; chicken Marsala; and fennel sausage (when they have it). Gluten not an issue -- try everything!! The Caesar salad is quite good, and the house Italian dressing a tradition. Their staff is friendly (shout out to Christina and Kate, and my beautiful friend Angie) the bar staff (the awesome Staci and Diann) who are consistently rated best in the area; and upbeat manager Hailey is a delightful presence.
