I have been to Ciao Bella off an on over some 10 years now. My boss loves going there and would take me along when he felt like treating me for a job well done...at least I think it was a job well done. The pizzas there are outstanding. The dishes..pastas, sauces and sandwiches are very good...every one of them! I took my mom there for a lunch and she loved the soup and salad. Great imaginative daily specials. This is my favorite place in the neighborhood to get take out from. They do have some seating but I've never eaten inside. Their pizza is very good. The crust is thin and crispy on the bottom and holds up well to the toppings which are of excellent quality. Their Italian grinder is also delicious and so are their meatballs. Overall, Ciao Bella has consistently great food and wonderful service. The girls behind the counter are always friendly and delivery always arrives hot and before the expected time. read more

Worcesters diamond in the rough, I don't know how this place isn't more celebrated by local colleges and residents. Their italian food is easily greater than local competitors cough VIA cough and it is at a reasonable price as well. Dishes will run heavy if you throw a lot of things in but base price is like if you went to Olive Garden. People have to realize this is not a sit down restaurant though but thats fine because the food is GREAT. Pastas are cooked well and the sauce is very exceptional. Just had Ciao Bella for the first time today, even though everyone at my work gets it all the time and I have been meaning to try it for years now. I had an Italian grinder which was very good. It was huge and I only ate half, and am saving half for dinner. Could have had more Italian dressing on it, but other than that it was delicious. I will definitely try their salads which look good when co-workers get them and eventually will try their pizza too. They were packed at lunch but my sub was ready quickly. Came home for the Holidys and just had to have some Ciao Bella. We ordered take out for my whole family. Their online ordering system is amazing. Everything was hot, perfectly delish and exactly how I remembered it from years ago. My girls loved the pizza with artichokes and black olives, the bruschetta was amazing. Best part was when my Dad; who is from Buffalo, NY said that the Buffalo Chicken Grinder was the "best he had ever had". Can't wait to come home and order again. read more

very cozy, very tiny. walk in and it looks like they deliver pizza's all day and aren't ready for a dining. Probably about 8 small tables. The food is great however. I had a roast beef sandwich with sauerkraut and red onions. Best I've ever had. My friends had a pizza which they said was amazing and another had pasta. All in all the food was more than expected and great quality. If your going out for a Friday lunch this is the place to go. They use fresh ingredients, serve very generous portions (the pasta dishes you really can't finish), and the food is good. I come here for lunch occasionally, due to work being so close by. I have always dined in and it gets quite busy during lunch time with the take out orders and table service. The place is small but always full. I've never really had to wait for a table for long. Everything I've had here was always great! The portions are huge! the ingredients fresh! The prices are pretty reasonable as well, noting how much food we get. I've had pasta, pizza, hot sub, salad, and apps here before. All have been fabulous! Once I ordered a small pizza that was intended for 2 people but I swear could feed up to 4! It was huge compared to other smalls at other pizza joints and the toppings were loaded on! I always have extra food to bring home because of their generous portions! I love Ciao Bella and would recommend it to anyone. read more

The food is very amazing, I order there all the time. But I will never sit in the restaurant again. There is a waitress that is horrible and very rude. Luckily, the food is too good to be ruined by a bad waitress. My favorite thing is the white clams with white wine sauce, the bruschetta, and the panini with pesto and prosciutto. read more

Each time I order take out here I get home and think what did I do. The food is average/decent but nothing amazing and the steep price would suggest something amazing. I almost always order the same thing because I am a masochist and enjoy being disappointed. The moderately sized veal parm is OK but often over cooked and occasionally burned and sitting on enough pasta to feed the USA Swim team the night before a big event. If I was eating in the restaurant rather then take-out it would be sent back to the kitchen. To get in the car drive back to complain would take too much time and then I'd be stuck sitting there for an eternity while it was re-done. At 19.99 it's an over-priced disappointment. My personal favorite for Italian take out in Worcester. I have never once had a bad meal. From the pizzas and pasta dishes to the roll ups and daily specials; the food is great! They do have a few tables inside for a sit down meal, but the I would recommend taking the food to go as it gets really crowded inside. I've gone to Ciao Bella quite a few times with friends and been satisfied with them each time. When planning my wedding, I decided to inquire about catering and was very satisfied with what they offered and the costs. Diane, the woman in charge of catering, was very attentive and met several times with my then fiance and myself. She gave us very helpful advice on how we could do things and made sure we were well-informed. When we came in to taste many of the food options we were interested in, she talked to us about each one (after giving us time alone to discuss them by ourselves). When we told her the chicken marsala was good but we didn't want two chicken dishes (we had already picked another chicken dish) she had the staff make us the same dish with beef right there on the spot so that we could taste it. They were flexible with planning, and allowed us to have individual vegan and gluten-free dishes for our vegan and gluten-free friends without altering any of the prices. They even brought pizza for the kids table! They came on time for our reception and set up professionally. I should note our reception was in a far-off, middle-of-nowhere park with no electricity. They were quite flexible in setting up. The staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond their duties, helping us clean up areas that had nothing to do with the food. After the ceremony we got countless compliments on the food. All of our guests were blown away. In summary, Ciao Bella provides excellent food, whether you go there with friends or use their catering services. Their catering menu is diverse and the costs are reasonably priced. Their catering staff is attentive, proactive, and willing to go the extra mile under all circumstances. This place is so inconsistent that it's just not worth it anymore, especially paying $15 for sub-par food. It's amazing what's passing for food nowadays. I was so disgusted with the quality of a meal last night that I'm signing up for the first time to write restaurant reviews. I've noticed people really liked the amount of food for the $$, but really, is bad food worth it? 2 lbs of slop is still slop. Example: For my boyfriend's meal, the fettuccine carbonara was a sauce soup with some pasta, and the sauce was broken (i.e. didn't stay emulsified; the egg or cream coagulated and separated). It looked like small chunks of cream/egg within runny oil. For my dish, the chicken saltimbocca was worse. A true saltimbocca should have flattened chicken/veal, prosciutto, fresh sage, lemon, capers, and fontina/mozzarella cheese. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltimbocca Whatever they were passing for saltimbocca was made up of chicken tenders, parmesan, and a dark turkey-ish gravy. Worse...the gravy was like a "just add water" super salty msg-laden grocery store packet gravy. It drenched everything. All I could taste was gravy and salt. Everything was swimming in this stuff. Honestly, It was one step above dog food. Covering up food components, rather than let them shine, to me means that you're using sub-quality products. Much like covering up horse meat with a potent sauce. Both a carbonara and saltimbocca are BASIC Italian dishes, and if a place messes up on the basics, then not much can be said for the other menu options in my opinion. But hey, if you like your food very salty and drenched in sauce or condiments, then this is the place for you. But I'd personally spend my $15-20 at someplace like the Abbey, and avoid the slop....and the salt-induced bloating and digestive problems. read more

Hands down the best Italian food in Worcester. I'm from NY and although I'm not Italian, I was spoiled by all of my friends' Grandmothers so I get angry when I'm served overcooked pasta and flavorless sauce at "italian restaurants." This is not a fancy Italian restaurant it's like eating Grandma's kitchen. There are a handful of tables, more food than you can imagine and a constant activity. If that's not your preferred atmosphere than please order your food for pick up and leave the tables for the rest of us. (I suggest picking some up and going on a picnic date to Green Hill Park) The food: I've had many items on the menu and haven't found anything I wouldn't love to eat again. I usually go for the specials since you don't know if it's going to be a option next time. But I have 2 standbys, the Ciao Bella Pasta (the dish that uncovered my LOVE of olives) and the pasta and meatballs. I survived many finals weeks on just an order of each of those, it's amazing how a good meatball can make you believe everything is going to be ok. The sauce has similar comforting powers, it's just so good! Their prices are reasonable but their portions are not. Not once have I ever come remotely close to finishing one of their servings. Frequently I get 3 meals out of one of their dishes. The only downside of this is if you get an appetizer or you've got your eye on a dessert, you must plan ahead and resist the urge to stray from said plan. It was a little busy but the staff was so graceful in their way of keeping up with everything. The princes are fantastic and it's a just a very cute family run place. The only flaw was the dessert.
