After reading some reviews, I didn't have high hopes, but I'm always open to getting my own opinion. Small intimate space. Cute decor. There was live music on a Friday night, which was nice. The music was R &B old and new school. It was slightly loud, which was not a problem for us, but if you are not a fan, maybe not go when there is live music.. We had reservations, which I would recommend seeing the space is small. When entering, it took us little time to get acknowledged and seated, but after that, the service was good. The server was very attentive and super friendly. The food is small plates. When reviewing the limited menu, I was a little shocked at the prices. I thought 32 bucks for crab stuffed salmon was pricey, but after eating it, I was not mad at all. They were also a very nice size. It was the star dish at the table. Read a lot of reviews where they were out of items from the limited menu. I have to say the same happened tonight. We arrived about 2 or so hours after opening, so that was disappointing, but I guess it just means I have to go back. Along with the hot honey stuffed salmon, we also tried the fried oysters. They were delicious. Their remoluades and hot mayo sauces were soooo good. We also ordered the crab cakes, again amazing. Just the right crab to filler ratio topped with great remoulade. Then, lastly, we ordered the sweet chili chicken eggrolls. After the other items we had, this by far was underwhelming. Maybe if we tried them first as they were nice size, filled nicely and fried to perfection, but the filling was not very flavorful. It sat on a bed of a cabbage with spicy mayo, which was very good. So, if you got a bite with that, it helped flavor it up. The drinks were very good. They also have a nice stocked bar. If a bourbon fan they had a nice selection. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars as we did really enjoy is that they add an 18 percent gratuity on tables of ONE or more people. I am not a fan of that. It doesn't encourage the service to be good. Although we did have great service and I added more to the tip. That was just a turn-off for me. As anywhere downtown parking can be a pain, I recommend just going into the ramp on Franklin and not even trying to find street parking. The ramp is less than a 2 minute walk.

Very cute lounge with small bites and music. A lovely place for date night, birthdays, bachelor(ette) parties & friends' night out. We had great service with our group. Our server was very attentive and helpful with our orders. We really enjoyed her. They have a nice, short menu of small plates. I had the half order of chargrilled oysters which were good and nicely seasoned. One friend had the raw oysters, another had the salmon, one had the wings, truffle fries, crab cake, and another had the egg rolls. Everything was pretty good. I got the Honeybee to drink and it was nice and sweet. There was a nice crowd that was around the bar and lounge area. Definitely a nice place for a night out in Buffalo.

I've been here a couple of times now. I really did enjoy the ambience and aesthetic of the venue. The music selection was on par as well. Both times I went I ordered lite bites. First being the southern chicken eggrolls which were a special for the week and second the oysters. I'd say both were okay. I was pre disappointed in the oysters bc for the price it seemed as if they'd been overcooked. Overall great space to meet friends after work or for a quick I chill spot. It wouldn't be my goto for a bite to eat but for the aesthetic it's a nice visit.

The evening I went they were out of the steak tartare, oysters, and scallops. The 3 things I wanted to order! The menu was already pretty limited, and I didn't want to pick from one of the salads or other options. I ended up getting the charcuterie board for my meal and it was good. We also got the salmon entree which was delicious. Enjoyed the cocktails as well. Enjoyed the dark moody vibes. I'll definitely have to go back again and see if I can try more of the food so I can give a higher rating! It's definitely somewhere I would go to just hang out at the bar for drinks.

Very nicely decorated very modern and clean the bartender was friendly, the waitress waitress was ok not rude but I could tell she was thinking about getting off, we went later in the evening the menu is not very large so I was surprised when they didn't have the menu item I wanted ( Seared scallops) the appetizer (calamari) was good food temp could have been better but taste was decent the other item we ordered was the 24kt wings taste was decent once again I may give the restaurant another try earlier in the day to see what it's like

We try…read moreto get together for brunch at least 4 times a year and we have yet to repeat a location - let's just say, this place now holds a top 5 place in our hearts to the point that we talked about revisiting to our top 5 locations. Starting with ambiance.......2 full sized bars with plenty of tv viewing if that is what you are in to while there. The seating area is well lit with natural light and comfortable, well spaced seating. We were greeted by our quiet, yet smiley server, Raymond. He was warm, efficient and also gave us great recommendations (coupled with personal stories as to why they were recommended). We ordered drinks (their craft cocktail menu is one of the best I have seen) and then perused the menu. We went with Raymond's recommendation to order 2 cinnamon rolls for the table (we were leary as many places whose claim to fame for having the "best" cinnamon roll, fall short). We also ordered 2 of the multigrain breakfast sandwiches, a smashburger, Brasserie breakfast sandwich, and the biscuits and gravy (highly recommended by Raymond as well). Everything was OUTSTANDING! Phrases like "seriously the combination of this breakfast sandwich with pancakes as the buns is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had." And, the cinnamon rolls!!! Raymond wasn't lying when he said they were the best. All 5 of us agreed that they were the best cinnamon rolls we have ever had, and lo and behold then had a conversation about what makes a good cinnamon roll - these check ALL of the boxes. We are still talking today about the great atmosphere, service and drinks/food at this establishment. And yes, there may STILL be talk about the cinnamon rolls. Don't sleep on this place!

We wish we had been hungrier to try more but only got the smash burger. Good quality, perfectly crispy bun with my favorite, sesame seeds. Ooey gooey cheese. But then they needed to make a couple changes. The onions were good and sweet. The sauce was sweet. The pickels were sweet. Not only should sweet pickles be outlawed, it was all too sweet. It needed some acid or freshness. But this is being picky. There wasnt a drop left. Oh and im not a sweet cocktail person and was worried about my blueberry basil vodka cocktail but it was perfect.

First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.
