3 1/2 Stars Service was wonderful. Warm and inviting. The place was bright and had a nice vibe although some of the decor was disjointed. Touches of class with a 50's Diner Car Grill randomly stuck on a wall. Food was hit or miss. Green Bean App was tasty, but flavor was overwhelmed by the crispy Prosciutto. Mini Fried Cheese & Prosciutto balls were highlighted by a wonderful sauce, but the balls themselves lacked personality. Cesear Salad had enough Parmesan & Croutons (Tasty) to choke a Hippo. Spaghetti & Meatballs was a winner all day. Calabrian Beef Rigatoni was also a solid offering. Food came out way too fast. It took longer to get my Drink than the two apps, and I got my drink quickly. Meal was much of the same. I'm sure they need to be proactive as the place can fill up fast, BUT, if felt like many items were already prepped ? I mean, shouldn't my Mini Balls have taken at least a few minutes to prepare. read more

The place has really good vibes and really good pizzas. The waitresses are always very nice as well. One thing that's very annoying about this place is that it's an Italian restaurant that uses store bought pasta. I typically don't go to Italian spots that don't make their pasta in house. 8/10 because of the pasta. read more

Ciao was a great find in Lynn. I visited twice, but I'll be visiting more often. It's got a great location downtown and it was easy enough to find parking. Staff and service was excellent. On my first visit, I split the short rib arancini and melanzana pizza with my cousin. The second time, I had the pesto cavatappi. There was enough for leftovers both times. The arancini were crisp and delicious. The pizza was flavorful. I love cavatappi, and it was perfectly cooked and went well with the pesto. The bread and oil is great. I really loved their drinks. I had the Old Fashioned and the Pineapple Campari and both were strong and well-made. I look forward to returning to try more menu items. read more

Every time I come here it's always great! The orzo roasted tomato Salad is fantastic! My wife gets the Ciao specialty pizza every time. I couldn't even tell you the last time I felt compelled to write a restaurant review. This place is great. Mussels, chicken parm, Ciao pizza, croquettes, the rosemary bread and oil. Everything was delicious. Our server was fantastic. Reservation was on time. Food came out promptly. I haven't had a restaurant meal in quite a while that didn't feel subpar. This place is awesome! The food is delicious and the service is great. Neopolitan style pizza with carefully crafted flavors. Flour is imported from Italy with a prescice water ratio - its the real deal. It's cooked in a wood fire oven, visible when you enter the restaurant. It smells great and the pizza has that perfect char. Any pizza can be made gluten free and the gluten free pizza is amazing! The wings are also great. Such a local/neighborhood staple! I've gone a few times and have yet to be disappointed! Pizza/pasta are amazing and the service is great (love Mattie!). They have a roaring menu and there are so many favorites I want to try, like the birria pizza and chicken caesar salad pizza. Decent eatery for an impromptu work dinner. I'm originally from New Haven and always look for New Haven style pizza in Massachusetts but I've always fallen short. Ciao is a cute little restaurant that I truly wouldn't mind going back again. The service is really good but the food from my experience falls a little short. I ordered the Arancini and it was cold. I told the server and he was very apologetic and took it back. The second time around it was decent. I ordered the pizza and it was good not New Haven style but good. Overall 7/10 experience because of the service. Maddie was a doll and if I ever come back It would be for her. read more

The food tasted very good and I do approve of a good wood fired pizza. However- the service was not great and we got our pre-meal bread the same time our pizza arrived. We also substituted a topping and they stated it was no problem- but then charged us an extra 3.50 once the bill came. I believe this has a good feel, but could fix some things on the service side to make me want to recommend to a friend. read more

As for entrees, the bolognese will have you reminiscing on how your Nona used to make it and the gnocchi are savory pillows of deliciousness. Recently visited Ciao in Lynn and wasn't disappointed. My girl and I had the arancini and they were authentic and delicious. We shared a tasty cheese pizza and a chicken parmigiana dinner. Ciao Restaurant & Bar - Lynn Second time at Ciao and it was so good! Reservation for 6:00. We were early (5:45) and sat at a nice roomy high top. One thing I hate when going out to eat with only 2 people is when you're at a tiny table that barely fits your plates but this table was big enough for all of the food and drinks to come. I rarely ever drink but decided on getting the "Santa baby" and it was amazing. Fiancé got the crème brûlée martini which he loved. Next we split the meatballs and the potato croquettes. The meatballs were phenomenal. Perfect texture. Good sauce. Croquettes were good too and the perfect amount for 2 people. Fiancé got the birria pizza and loved it- he has plenty for leftovers. Be prepared to get messy if you order that pizza- it was very floppy and messy but he said the flavor was great. I got the orecchiette al peperoncino (which I also got last time and it was amazing again). Fiancé also got a toasted s'mores martini which he said was excellent but he favored the crème brûlée one more. Also our waitress was great. Love this spot! read more

Festive without being too loud. Our waitress was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu. She made some delicious recommendations for appetizers including delicious green beans. Came to this place as a recommendation from a friend. We were greeted right away by a friendly staff member who turned out to be our waiter as well. On a Wednesday afternoon there were a fair amount of tables occupied but we were still seated right away. There is street parking as well as a parking lot across the way. The decor is simple while radio hits are played on the speakers. I ordered the mango dragonfruit drink and my mom had the Sauvignon blanc. Both of us were surprised from our choices as mine was incredibly strong and my moms tasted more tart/different. However, I did finish it while enjoying the mango pop at the bottom. Our entrees included the funghi pizza and pasta alla Norman. There was a considerable amount of liquid, I presume from the cheese, on top of the pizza which instantly seeped through upon taking my first slice. The remaining slices were left soggy but still tasted good with the San Marzano tomatoes, basil, fior di latte, mushrooms and olive oil. The pasta was almost too al dente but still good in an sautéed eggplant basil marina sauce. We loved our waiter Bobby as well as the multiple tables he was serving simultaneously with an up best attitude. Overall good experience and would come again. The food is very good but a few criticisms: If a restaurant has lukewarm bottles of water on the tables, servers should at the very least provide ice for the glasses. If the bottle is brought fresh when guests arrive, which is preferable, it will feel more sanitary. I don't want to be handling bottles of water that several other guests have handled. Also, waitresses should have a good understanding of the offerings of the alcoholic beverages, and be able to answer guests questions about them. Also, servers should not need to be reminded to bring things and should check in with guests during their dining time. All pretty standard things. read more
