Amazing!! Not just because it's a 13 min walk from my house (a huge plus), but it's the necessary spot we needed in UCITY! Perfect location and very convenient to get here, and park (if driving). I love the look of the restaurant in the inside? It's surprisingly larger that it looks from the outside! I was immediately greeted!! Everyone is so nice...super pleasant which makes it so much easier...so much so, I decided to eat in, instead of taking it with me! And then the food...MY GOODNESS! I got the steak and eggs and potatoes! It was so good!! The steak had some kind of pesto drizzle! This food is just plain tasty!!! I also got a Latte...they didn't have almond milk but had oat milk (which is definitely fine with me)! I'm definitely coming back and fear I may be a regular!! read more

I have been meaning to check Cibo out. I was so curious when they started the renovation for this building and I didn't expect it to be a new restaurant. I love the decorations and the design of Cibo. There are outdoor areas as well perfect for a good weather day. They are currently serving breakfast lunch and dinner. For the lunch menu, i was so torn between the sandwich and the pizza but i settled for 2 different slices of pizza. One is a simple cheese pizza and the other is the Sicilian pizza. They are quite the opposites bc one is thin and the other was so thick and loaded. For the price, I would say the slices are freaking massive. We were all in shock when they brought out the food. I also couldn't get over how beautiful this cheese pizza looked. Now the Sicilian pizza definitely blew my mind. The crust was probably the best that I have ever had. It was thick but soft and airy as pillow. Normally I'm more of New York style pizza but this one conquered me for real. I spent about $15 for this meal and it was so worth it! Dinner review: When I saw they had just started dinner service on Instagram, had to grab a reservation as I'd been lusting after their food as they ramped up for their opening. Food did not disappoint. We started with camponatta (recommended by our server) which was served with crostini. For dinner we opted for the pepperoni pizza (hot honey on the side as my husband is not a hot honey fan), a half portion of the Pancetta pasta, and the polpetts (meatballs). We had a really hard time picking a favorite dish, everything was high quality, presented beautifully, and delicious. Our server was superb, clearly green (given it was night 2 or 3 of service), but accommodating and attentive. The open, bright, and airy atmosphere was great for a late spring evening. I will definitely be back to try both breakfast and lunch. I honestly think it's better than Sugo's (and Sugo's is really good)! read more

New place by Michael Del Pietro after they closed Il Palato and I'm already obsessed. The BEST pizza by the slice I've ever had (trips to NY included) and only $6, add a side salad for only $4 and you have a great meal for only $10 (in THIS economy? Yes, really). I got the pepperoni and the spicy pep with the sweet ricotta was a perfect combination. Highly recommend. Ambiance can't be beat too. Bright, airy and they have what looks like a cute new patio in the works. We will be back. read more

Loved Cibo. The Polpette meatballs are a standout with whipped ricotta, basil, perfectly cooked and tender. We also had the tuna crudo in lettuce wraps and the rigatoni with pancetta stratciatella both delicious. One spicy margarita which had a drizzle of house calabrian chili oil and blended the cocktail into a cantaloupe melon color- fantastic. Then a classic hendricks martini served in a very cool Riedel coupe glass with perfect olives. Will be back! read more

Have tried my best to support this new restaurant right down the road but every time there is a new issue: wouldn't let us into an empty place at 4:30 because they would be booked "later on", reservations blocked for days in advance, finally make one 10 days out only to be called and told they are cancelling it & the system shouldn't have booked it. Instead of welcoming, it feels like it's discouraging the neighborhood from coming. Hint taken. read more

What an awesome addition to the neighborhood, these guys are actually hand making the dough and cooking it in the brick oven, infinitely better than a Panera or Starbucks breakfast. Can't wait to come back for dinner and try some of the homemade pasta dishes. read more

Really nice ambiance and a beautiful setting. I arrived for my 1:00 PM reservation and was greeted by the manager/owner when I entered. A pleasant young hostess seated me immediately and accommodated my request for outdoor dining Unfortunately, the service did not match the atmosphere. I ordered an iced latte but was brought a hot one. Instead of remaking it, the server simply provided a cup of ice. Throughout my meal, I noticed management checking on several other tables to make sure guests were enjoying their experience, but no one ever stopped by my table. When my food arrived, I asked for syrup. The gentleman delivering the food told me it "wouldn't need any" and said they didn't have syrup available. I then asked for honey, and he replied that the dish didn't need it and walked away, never returning with anything. The toast itself had good flavor, although it was a bit soggy. I do appreciate that the waitress removed the latte from the bill. However, when I paid, she simply swiped my card and walked away without saying a word. As I left, not a single employee acknowledged me or thanked me for coming. The atmosphere was nice but with so many dining options available, customer service matters. I live in the neighborhood and my husband and I decided to check out the new neighborhood restaurant today, Saturday 6-6-26 at 3:40pm. I walked in the restaurant and it was empty the hostess was on her phone. After a few seconds she acknowledged me and said, "We are closed." She then continued to say they were opened every day at 7:30 and on Sunday at 10. I was confused by her statement and she then repeated her statement. I was looking forward to breakfast at Cibo--potentially our neighborhood go-to--but discovered this morning that they do not carry expresso decaf. The "regular" decaf coffee I was served instead of my preferred latte was watery and by the time I added cold milk...Well, yuck. I was really looking forward to expresso made by Italians and reading other reviews that their latte was delicious is galling. It's a deal breaker for me and, I would think, all of us who cannot drink caffeinated coffee. I assume there'd be no decaf capucino after dinner. The food was tasty--for all you caffeine drinkers--but I'm assuming they are still calibrating the oven. The crust of the pizza I had for lunch on my previous visit was so tough I couldn't cut it, and the pannini for breakfast was similarly overbaked. My friend said her biscotti was also overbaked. Mr. Del Pietro comes to UCity with a great reputation. I'm hoping my concerns are simply growing pains. read more

The restaurant is beautiful, but we will not be back. The service was just ok. We purchased a bottle of wine which was over $50.00. It was definitely a $10.00 bottle of wine. My husband and myself had the bolognese. It was a small bowl of pasta and could not see or taste any meat in it. No bread on the table nor even mentioned if we'd like to order some. I was very excited to try this new restaurant as we live Sugos but this was very disappointing. The interior of the restaurant is very pretty. We had an early reservation so the restaurant was not very busy when we sat down. We ordered the zucchini to start and it was cold. For dinner, I had the funghi pasta and added chicken to it. It had no flavor at all. In fact, all I could really taste were the char lines from my chicken. My son had the Bolognese. It was just ok. My husband had a fish special. It was just ok as well. The three of us walked away thinking we just spent a lot on food that was ho-hum. Nothing special at all. I am sad to write this one as I really wanted to like it. read more

We arrived 5 minutes before Cibo opened doors and present as Michael screeched through parking lot in his convertible Mercedes very obviously running late. And then we witnessed him yell at busboy for opening doors at 4:55. It was a kid and he had no reason to treat him that way in front of us. I volunteered to wait another 5 minutes before entering as he asked "DO YOU HAVE RESERVATIONS?" I said yes and he said what's the name. I've never been treated so rudely by an owner. Sucked. service so slow. our drinks were empty for 15 min, food portions so small for the price, cold and not good. Where's the bread?? Previous reviews claim excellent service and generous portions. Our lunch today was a bit of a deviation from that claim. Wife and I arrived before the rest of our party, so we sat at the bar. My wife got a mixed drink and I got a cappuccino. Perhaps the opening of the store distracted the bar staff, but it appeared that our order was secondary. Plus, a small thing, but very annoying... When we eventually got our order, my cappuccino was served in a paper cup, as if I was in a drive thru. When our party arrived and we were eventually seated, our waitress took our drink orders. Three of us ordered a coffee beverage and, again, they were served in paper cups. I'm not certain why the server lied, but when my wife asked why we couldn't get our coffee in real cups, the server said "I promise, we don't have coffee cups". Apparently, she didn't notice that while seated at the bar, we're were able to observe coffee cups stacked atop the espresso machine that was right in front of us. Three of our party order pasta dishes. While I wouldn't call them tapas portions, they were hardly "generous". My wife usually saves half of her pasta to have the next day, but the portion was too small that she didn't have enough to take home. My pasta dish was a vodka sauce/pancetta, but the quantity of pancetta in the dish was very small... I guess it was only supposed to be a garnish. All in all, not a bad place, but not remarkable enough to return. Way too many nice restaurants in St. Louis. read more
