    Ravioli. Kids liked it.

Out of the gate, service was bad. Our waiter gave off the vibe that he would rather be doing anything else in the world versus working at the Pasta House. I am a st. Louis native and come to the Pasta House every time I come back to visit St. Louis. The Pasta House on Ballas is way better than this location. The weirdest thing was, they cut my thin crust pizza into triangles. That is wrong and doesn't make sense, I actually wanted my money back. Blasphemy. I still love the Pasta House but will only go to the Ballas location from here on out. They seem to only want to do take out here as the dine in patrons seem to take second fiddle to the doordash drivers.

If Chef Boy-R-Dee had a restaurant this is what I imagine it would be. the food is just ok... nothing special. Wait staff was busy with a friend who brought her baby and was on her phone FaceTiming people the whole time. (Loud & rude). Not to mention the customers were suffering because of the distracted staff. I won't be back. One and done for me had the 3 pc Cannelloni.

The service is terrible here. I've always loved pasta house but stay away from the one on Ladue crossing . They're ruining the brand name.

The Best Dining Experience We've Had in St. Louis - Hands Down…read moreMy husband and I wanted to give our dear friends who are leaving St. Louis one last unforgettable meal from their bucket list, so I immediately recommended Peno. I used to be a regular at Rosé with the same talented Chef Pepe, and his food is truly to die for. We walked in on a beautiful day and were lucky to snag a spot in their small parking lot (parking in the area isn't the easiest, but it's worth it). Our server, Harry, made the evening even better right from the start. He had such a warm, calm, professional presence--the kind that's rare these days. We instantly remembered his name thanks to a fun Harry Potter / Harry and the Hendersons reference, and he handled everything with effortless skill. When our friends had parking trouble, Harry quickly offered helpful suggestions. Then, when it was time to order, he elevated our meal in the best way possible. My husband and I got our longtime favorite--the Roberto pizza from Rosé days--and Harry suggested adding sausage and peppers. That small tweak took something we already loved and made it 1000% better. Absolute perfection. Our friend ordered the spaghetti (her all-time favorite comfort meal), and after taking Harry's thoughtful recommendation, she declared it the best spaghetti she's ever had in her life. We finished with the cheesecake. I'm extremely picky about cheesecake, but this one did not disappoint--it was creamy, rich, and flawless. This was one of those legendary meals you remember forever. The kind where you leave thinking you could die happy. Chef Pepe's food, paired with Harry's outstanding service, made it a perfect night. If you're in St. Louis, do yourself a favor and go to Peno. You won't regret it. Thank you, Harry and team--you helped create a truly special send-off for our friends!

I ordered the Bronzino and my wife ordered the trout special. Both came out delicious and so scrumptious I could not wait to dig in and I missed my photo opportunity. First ship, but I'm a lovely homegrown tomato salad topped with a corn, cucumber, farro and mint. My Bronzino was served with capers and an olive oil white wine cream sauce with perfectly prepared garlic spinach and a lemon risotto, the trout I believe was olive oil, capers, garlic with spinach and lemon risotto. Both were perfectly prepared crispy skin and moist meat. A basil lemon survey intermezzo followed and for dessert, a fresh peach cupcake with roasted marshmallow atop. Dense and delicious. They also gave us a list of their favorite menu items. That was the sign that it was time for us to go! We were lucky and found a great parking spot. It was a nice night and a lot of people were in the area. We were greeted warmly by a few people at the hostess stand. Our table was almost ready - literally maybe a two minute wait - and then we were seated. It's not a huge space, but they make the most of it. The place was full! Our server was Josh and he was great! There were a number of people that came to our table throughout our two hours there. Drink delivery, food delivery, Amanda (one of our very favorite servers we met at another restaurant), water pourer, table cleaner, etc - lots of staff taking care of everyone. We dropped utensils a few times and someone on staff was there replacing it before we even picked it up off the floor. We're not THAT clumsy - the tables for two aren't large and it was easy to hit a utensil unknowingly! It's a little loud in there due to the size of the space and the number of people they can seat. It wasn't annoyingly loud, but louder than some places. We ordered our cocktails and then started trying to decide what to order. Josh went over the menu with us, told us about some of the items in more detail, and told us about the specials. He was super knowledgeable about the entire menu. He also had a fun personality. Focaccia and olive oil were brought to our table. It was literally the only thing I didn't like there. I love focaccia, but it was served almost cold. I prefer it warm. And this wasn't room temp - it was very cool. We started with Prosciutto di Parma. Because peaches are in season, it came with fresh sliced peaches and it was delicious! Without the peaches, I think the prosciutto would have been too salty for me, but I'm salt sensitive. I had the Roman Gnocco and it was very good! I brought half of it home. My husband got the Sweet Corn Ravioli. It was a special and it was delicious. It was the perfect summer entree! We had an ice cream sandwich for dessert and wow! It's absolutely not like one you've had before. I was already full, but I made some room! In addition to the food and cocktails being so good, the staff were fabulous! They didn't miss a trick. Someone always noticed everything! And the food they took from me to box up was kept somewhere else until we were ready to go. It was brought with the bill. It was labeled with our table number and what the contents were. Was it a big deal? No. Was it very thoughtful? Yes. We didn't have a box sitting there while we enjoyed dessert and finished our cocktails. My only regret is that we had not been there before. The food and service are both top notch. We will most definitely be back!
