Pastas are $18.99 each and had 3-4 pieces of broccoli and mushrooms in each?? salads are called grande but any but for 12.99 each!! No artichokes in salads!! No bread and butter served!! Louis native and come to the Pasta House every time I come back to visit St. Louis. The Pasta House on Ballas is way better than this location. Had lunch with some friends. I like Pasta House because they are the only place I know of that has Linguine with Chicken Livers & mushrooms. As always the chicken livers were cooked perfectly. Their cream sauce is very good, the mushroom pieces were large and plentiful. The meal was large enough that I took home a good size portion for the wife. Our server took great care of us. Their ice tea is fresh and better than most. This is in a strip mall so the ambience isn't great, but we come for the food. read more

I do not like spicy food. So if you also do no like spicy food DO NOT EAT the Cannelloni unless you like spicy food. The meat in the noodle set my mouth on fire. I am sick and tired of going to restaurants, and they always serve spicy food. I wish to hell they would warn us when they do that. I have been eating at pasta house for the last 40 years and it's just been the last few years that it has been very spicy. Same as Kentucky Fried Chicken, so damn spicy I can't eat it. This was the first time in probably twenty years that I ordered something different than Chicken Parm! I had Nona Tucci's meatballs with pasta shells in white sauce. It was good, but had me a little freaked out because the meatballs had pink spots on the inside. Our waitress, Ashley, assured me that they were thoroughly cooked and that sometimes they look that way because of how they are made. I eat at Pasta House around town pretty often. I hadn't been to the Delmar one in years but I grew up eating at this location. Stopped in on a weekday for a late lunch. The food was great and the service was great. Far above some other locations. If you know you are having trouble serving the dining room, why would you accept carry out orders? The food was not even mediocre. I ordered Chicken Piccata and the light lemon sauce was a congealed lump on overcooked chicken. No lemon flavor at all and about 5 capers. Tried to get a refill on iced tea which was finally done when they brought the check. I don't ever write a review but the service and food here was absolutely horrendous. My husband got the all you can eat pasta and the server never returned after dropping off his dish. The food was terrible and either too hot or too cold. We weren't able to even request to have any of it heated up because our server didn't return. We had to alert her to even realize we needed boxes and check. When I asked the manager to take off just the "all you can eat" pasta meal, he assumed I was asking for the whole check to be comp because I sure it's been asked already that night. The restaurant wasn't busy and there was tons of front of house staff yet every table was left dirty for long periods of time and no one was getting any regular service. And when the prices were lower, the salad actually had more to it than large pieces of lettuce, one sliver of onion, and possibly one little piece or artichoke. Now their prices are unreal and if you ask for more than one roll, they act like you might just put them out of business. We have ordered from this Pasta House on Door dash. I just had an incredibly obnoxious experience with the manager working on the evening of 4/15/22. I ordered carry out and had a perfectly nice experience with the person who took my payment and handed off my food. She made a reasonable mistake, and forgot to hand me a bag that contained our salad. Simple enough, but it wasn't easy for me to return to the store to get it. I called and tried talking to the manager about getting a credit. Instead of simply offering the credit, he decided to argue with me. He said "She handed you both bags". He wasn't even present and she did not hand me more than one bag. She even answered the call initially and stated: "Oh! I'm sorry! I missed the one bag. It's sitting here. Can you come get it?" I cannot get over how rude this manager was. He wanted to sit and argue with me about "my" mistake. I asked him to simply give me my credit, but now I was irritated. He kept arguing that it was my fault. I continued to get more irritated because he was making me feel like I was under an interrogation. He ended up telling me that if "I" didn't stop speaking rudely to "him" he wasn't going to give me my creditq. It was clear that this was the end of the conversation. Never got my food, never got my money back. Made me sad that some people think this is an acceptable way to talk to a customer. read more

WOW...I feel like someone is going to reach over to put a dingbat sign on my forehead while another screams liar, liar, but I have to give The Pasta House 5 stars because my family and I absolutely love this place and my experience here a few weeks ago was PHENOMENAL - I promise. I don't know if when we come in, everything becomes magical and wonderful and delicious, but IT IS! When comparing TPH to any number of similar haunts in Chicago and serving up American/Italian fare, TPH wins hands down! We each had the salad and split the Dura veggie pasta dish and tiramisu. The salad was perfectly dressed, not too much dressing (which I wouldn't have been able to eat). The lettuce was crisp, the hearts of palm were firm and perfect, just the right amount of pimento, parmesan, etc. The veggies in the pasta were crisp and plentiful, the pasta al dente and yummy. The tiramisu was rich and decadent. Service was excellent and our waiter, Terry, was excellent. For $41.00 for 2, we walked away stuffed and thrilled that The Pasta House craving had been satisfied. Pasta house has great food but we had a horrible experience at this location. Multiple drinks/beers out of stock, beer order delivered incorrectly, food order delivered incorrectly and had to wait for a new pizza to be made. The absolute worst part I didn't realize until just now after getting home: the recommended tips at the bottom of the receipt are incorrect. Our bill was $74 and change after tax, and the recommended 20% tip on the receipt was listed as $17.00. The actual 20% tip after tax should be under $15 and before sales tax it should be 13 and change. Whether this was a mistake or not, it's dishonest as most people probably just look at the recommended percentages rather than doing the math. Well, from now on I'll do the math, but certainly not at this location. Edit: I'm realizing now what probably happened. I noticed on our bill that the orders they brought out incorrectly were on our bill but then comped at the bottom of the check. So I assume the recommended tip values are based on the total value including discounted or comped items. Unfortunately these weren't comped, but rather completely incorrect by server/kitchen mistake.
