Woah! This is some really, really excellent food! I came here for the first time today and this is now one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Our lunch and drinks were perfect. Large portions, friendly services , appropriate prices. The food was so filling, we came in right when they opened and noon and I did not need to eat again for the rest of the day. One of the best things is that so much of what they serve is house made ! Even the ketchup. I can't remember the last time I saw that attention to detail in a restaurant . We came in after a long walk across the city and even though this is a nice place, they were very welcoming. Unfortunately ,a few little details made the overall experience less perfect than the food. Their bathroom is behind the building and shared with other businesses. It was really, really dirty . May not be their fault but still worth knowing. This is a weird complaint, but their tables are held up by slabs of concrete. My knee hit it when sitting down and it resulted in a bloody cut, big bruise and major swelling. (Update: 3 weeks later , my knee is still in bad shape) this is not the type of complaint I usually make , especially with an otherwise fantastic experience. Just seems like an odd choice for tables. Other reviews complained about uncomfortable seating, and while this specifically was not an issue for me, it seems like functionality and comfort are not a priority . Excellent service!!! Wonderful waiter and host. We were seated pretty quickly and ALL of the dishes and cocktails were perfect. I definitely will be making recommendations for this place and will return. We ordered the bolognese, margherita pizza, and pizza with ricotta and arugula. The pisco pear sour drink is perfectly portioned, and the house sangria was nice and sweet. You can taste the difference between Cibo and other pizzerias. Their ingredients are fresh and organic, and the tomato sauces tastes authentic and homemade. Nothing that you would find from a jar. My husband and I have made a tradition of ordering from here anytime we're on our way back home from the airport. It's always such a treat to know that this will be waiting for us. Our go-to order is the Margherita Pizza, Pollo Frito (chicken strips) with a spicy aioli, and their House Caesar Salad. The pizza is always delicious, and 1 of them is enough for 2 people if you're not planning for leftovers. The chicken strips are out of this world. I think they use some kind of turmeric rub. I always reheat them in the oven and they come out crispy and juicy. The aioli is also f**king delicious. MORE please. We've tried the pastas a few times now, and they're all fantastic. I especially like the salmon with peas. You can also get an entire loaf of fresh bread for like $5. Such a steal. Lastly, their Olive Oil Cake with fresh cream and a cherry is a contender for one of my all-time favorite desserts. It's SO GOOD. Very disappointed. Ordered through door dash tonight to try this place because of good reviews. Unfortunately I found out about how rude the male worker tonight 1/22 was to my delivery driver. I wondered what was taking so long and it turned out the worker lied about the timing for the food being ready and snapped at my driver. I really wanted to like this place but the food was just okay for the price charged and I know I can go somewhere else with just as great food(for more reasonable prices) that doesn't treat people poorly. I reccomend this place since their food is delicous! I prefer to get it to go. Last time we ate in the restranunt it was bit slow. The food is is truly tasty though. Best Ravoli! An off-putting thing for me is they charge $4.00 for 1 Ice Tea and no refills. I wonder if they do that with coffee too? I am not someone that drinks 4 ice teas. I usually have 1 1/2 or 2 since there is a lot of ice in ice tea. We have worked in service and I never minded refilling peoples Ice tea and water as needed. It costs very little to make a pitcher of ice tea. So that is why we like the food to take home. No loud noises, you can move at your own pace and have as much ice tea as you want. We came here on a whim after visiting the Evergreen Air Museum with the family. Which i another great place to go. We came to Cibo based on photos.....we were all so pleasantly surprised. I grew up in LA Calif. and I have to say I am pretty spoiled with a lot of good foods. Cibo's pizza is THE best pizza in Oregon that my family and I have had so far. Their side dishes are well thought out and delicious. The burrata appetizer and fried pasta sides were amazing. We can't wait to go back when we are in McMinnville Downtown. We love their pizza and Caesar salad. Great flavor and one of the best Caesar I've had in Portland, their Caesar's got the right amount of acidity and creaminess you can tell they are using high quality cheese shavings. However, sometimes the pizza can be soggy, I think it's because they are thin and the ingredients can have high water content. And the salad dressing can be a bit too much, we always get it on the side and totally solves the issue. read more

Cibo came to us on a night we were "supposed to make dinner" but as hours passed and I couldn't seem to get myself in the kitchen, I opted to go out and try somewhere new! Best. Decision. Ever. We got to the restaurant about 7:30pm, there were open tables but we wanted to sit at the bar. The bartender was awesome and attentive! We had mentioned we just moved to Portland not that long ago so he gave us some other places he thought had good food! We started with drinks and got their fried chicken appetizer. It came with this decision spicy aioli and might be my favorite thing I ate all night! For dinner, I ordered the margherita pizza with added pepperoni, my boyfriend got their steak with potatoes. Both were equally delicious. I love that you cut your own slice of pizza, and for the price, I thought we got quite a bit! Sharing between us, we still took three decent sized slices home. I might be missing something here but the pasta was over cooked. The sauces weren't very good either. The pepperoni pizza was very greasy. The best thing we ordered was the Caesar salad and the Fig pizza. I don't think I would come back to be honest. This place has great pizza!! So cool how you get to cut your own slices. Pizza is served uncut and is incredibly thin (New York style)! Which personally is my favorite. I ordered the pesto pasta and so did another person in our group and we both found it very bland and ended up eating the pizza. Service was great! Wouldn't go with a party larger than 6. Really love Cibo. They have delicious italian foods of all sorts. I come here at least a couple times each month. My biggest complaint is: I have ordered pizza from them many times -no exaggeration, every single time my pizza has been cold upon delivery. Had a late dinner at Cibo last night, and was totally delighted. A dish I love was no longer on the menu, but our server, Morgan, said she thought she could ask the kitchen to prepare it. They were willing to do so, and it was even more delicious than the last time I ate it. our server, Morgan, made us feel like all our needs were attended to, even though there seemed to be a rush as we arrived. Good food, problem with service. Three of us asked to be seated at a booth; we were told they were saved for larger parties. Directly after we were seated at a table (with uncomfortable chairs), the host seated a family of three at one booth, a couple at another. When I went to ask why, he said it was to distribute the tables for the waiters, which made zero sense, since the restaurant had just opened and there was a line with plenty of diners for all sections. When we talked to the waiter about it, she said those were reserved tables and people would be joining them, which was simply a lie. She also said "whatever" under her breath. No one joined the table of three, and the table with the couple ordered and got their meals before another couple they just happened to know joined them about a half-hour later. The waiter was quite pleasant after that, but never acknowledged that she had deliberately told us an untruth. A "sorry" or a round of drinks would have been the gracious and right thing to offer. Having waited tables for more than a decade, it's what any good waiter should have done. read more

We ordered - Rib Eye Steak - side of meatballs - Quattro Pizza ( 4 cheese pizza with added salami) Hey we wanted to try a little bit of everything! First of all we are very picky with our steaks. Call us steak snobs okay. This steak was cooked perfectly! We asked for medium rare and dammit that steak was done perfectly. The seasoning was fabulous too. The side of meatballs and omg that sauce!!!!!!!! Was to die for. We are also meatball /Italian snobs. If the meatballs are tough and don't melt in your mouth they're garbage. They not only melted in my mouth but the flavor was beyond words amazing. Next .., The pizza. Wood fired ( not fried people ) WOOD FIRED pizza was so damn good I will be dreaming of this pizza for awhile. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, top notch quality on the cheeses. Literally I couldn't of asked for a freaking better pizza. Staff was friendly, funny, personable, fast, worked insanely hard, and all around very attentive. A great addition to SE. A perfect date night experience. I'm so happy Yelp steered us in the right direction with this place. We will be back for more and will even come in for just a cocktail.
