Unfortunately I'm dissatisfied with the pizza I received. I did order it through DD, so I'm not rating this off the temperature. It was cold. The poor rating I'm giving is because half of the pizza was burnt and I don't know who trained the person who made my pizza, but they clearly didn't give a crap. Out of the entire pizza maybe three slices had basil. It's a margherita pizza. It has mozzarella and basil. That's it! How hard is it to make sure every part of the pizza has an equal amount of toppings? And I sound overly critical but I worked at a fine dining pizzeria. The fact that anyone in management would allow this pizza to go out and look the other way is what I'm truly disappointed with. I am disappointed that I paid $18 and everyone there thought, it's not my problem, it's good enough. Simply, do better. It will certainly be a while before I dine with your company again. read more

This establishment has thus far provided me with nearly the most complete experience, where I was blown away by each singular bite of every pie. My personal favorite was the Pizza Del Figo. A blend of mozzarella and goat cheese topped with prosciutto and housemaid fig jam gave me an edible experience like I have never had in my lifetime. The rest of their pies were equally as tastefully sensational, providing a different, yet wonderful succulent experience. All of their pies are very rich, and cheesy. Although not going into the final score, the low lighting, amazing music playlist, and wonderfully diverse drink menu were top notch on the list as well. This is one of our favorite places in the neighborhood, and by far the best mussels I've ever had. The mussels at La Moule on Clinton are really good, but more of a classic French butter/white wine/garlic setup while the mussels at Cibo are a whole new universe of things going on. They also usually have a decent budget bottle of Pinot Noir or Barbara, and the radicchio salad is really great. We get a pizza every now and again...bread is pretty much poison for me but the pizza here is so good sometimes my wife is ok suffering a couple days of my moaning and farting. read more

Everything they have here is amazing! The mushroom ravioli is to die for. I don't even like mushrooms but they have changed my mind!! Not feeling pasta? They have incredible pizzas! The panna cotta and tiramisu are so yum! The service is always great! I love all the employees and they are so helpful with making recommendations. I don't usually eat Italian food (seriously, like, once a year), but when I do, I want it to be like what Cibo's got. A few of us split the insalata di polpo, the spaghetti alle vongole, and a pizza with mushrooms and pancetta. The octopus salad was so good - the octopus was cooked well (they didn't skimp on the meat!) and the potatoes were super crispy. The spaghetti was awesome also - the pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was light and lemony, and the clams were cooked well and were super tasty. I had heard from friends that the pizza is the star at Cibo, but given my experience, I'd come back for that octopus and pasta for sure. The only thing I wish was that they'd offer a gnocchi dish on the menu! read more

Then the tagliattelle, but they are all great--Pesto, penne with chicken and mushroom ravioli. The pizza crust is perfectly wood fire oven brown and chewy. Great cocktail and wine selection. We couldn't believe how condescending her tone was and her breath smelled like booze. Pretty sure she was drunk. Love the lights on the wall and the overall vibe of Cibo. We got the mushroom ravioli, Caesar salad, and a soppressata pizza. The only reason I'm taking a star off was because we ordered the salsiccia pizza. It was fine because the soppressata was still really good. Staff were friendly and apologized for the mixup and were willing to fix our order but we declined since the soppressata was our 2nd choice anyway. They comped us with a free tiramisu! Cibo had been on my list of places to try for what seems like several years so I was excited to finally visit last night and they delivered an excellent first experience. Cibo's highly regarded happy hour brought us in at 5pm when it begins and it was bar seating only but no wait. The restaurant decor is simple yet tasteful and very warm and bright. We were greeted quickly and welcomed in a fashion that seems to be going out of style in PDX. The service from each employee was excellent throughout. Equally on par with the service was the food. We tried all happy hour dishes including the margarita pizza, steamed mussels, polenta fries and caesar salad. All were delicious and over delivered on quality in my opinion for the price and experience. The broth in the steamed mussles was superb and dipping the toasted bread in it was incredible. Margarita was crunchy and cheesy and flavor packed from their wood fire oven. My only disappointment was having to leave without trying the rest of their food but it won't be my last time visiting Cibo. read more

Personally, im usually not the biggest fan of thin crust pizza but this was absolutely daaaaahlicious!! Pappardelle alla bolognese: Beef, pork, chicken liver and tomato braised in a medley of garden vegetables, with fresh herbs and cream tossed with Grana Padano and fresh pappardelle. I thought the noodles were great but i was hoping for a little stronger taste from the sauce, seemed kind of bland. Lots of people getting take out from here and after trying the pizza, i definitely would too!! The only thing that kind of irked me was that they weren't able to give me any kind of time estimate on how long the wait would be and didn't have a text/call system, so had to wait outside which normally wouldn't be a problem but this was when there was a terrible heat wave going on. read more

This is one of my most favorite places to eat. I often go here for my birthdays with close friends. However the best menu item in my opinion has been missing since Covid started. The plan had been to try and go to Pok Pok. When the wait of over an hour and our hungry stomachs didn't jive we walked down the street and stumbled in this place. Prior to his trip I'd just driven by it. What a mistake!! This place rivals all the other pizza I've ever had in Portland. Soooo good. The crust was perfect (which is where most places misstep.) the toppings were arranged in such a way that every bite was the same, but different. I wish I'd found this forever ago. I've been going to this place for years and I've never been disappointed. The staff is so friendly and personable and the food is incredible. I love the feel of the space, it's very cool. I love sitting at the bar - you can watch the pizzas and drinks get made from there. The whole space is open and cohesive. There's also outdoor seating! I love the tagliata steak. It's absolutely incredible. So tender, juicy, and incredible however you ask for it to be cooked. I've tried it everywhere from medium rare up to medium well, and it's incredible all three ways, which to me is a sign of a great cut of steak. All of the sauces for the pastas are made to order, and the pasta is all fresh. The pizza is incredible and affordable, considering the fancy toppings. ALSO, do NOT skip the Tuscan fries. Holy cow, they're incredible. Rustic cut potato fried up crispy with whole cloves of garlic and fresh herbs on top? Sign me up! They come with a cup of house "ketchup" which is far from the basic ketchup in the best way. It's chunkier, almost like a salsa or bruschetta, and incredibly flavorful. read more

I really love Cibo and I have for a long time, I think I've been coming here for at least the past five years so I'm surprised I haven't left a review yet. I've come for all occasions whether it be happy hour, full on dinner, birthday dinners, etc. but my favorite is their happy hour. the ambiance is perfect. classy while also being casual enough to just stop in on a whim. service is always super kind, from the host to the servers & the bartenders. i always feel welcome here. now onto the food. the margarita pizza on HH for $8 is a must and it's a good size and i love that you cut it yourself with scissors. the dough is on point and the ingredients are fresh and simple, as a margarita pizza should be. they also do their pizza specials for a few dollars off. last night we also got the pickled vegetables and their ceasar salad. both were excellent. another favorite is the mussels.... i always get these but felt i needed some greens last night so opted for a salad instead. they have good drinks specials during happy hour too. cocktails, wine, beer, etc. so it's a fun place to come and hangout, have a few drinks and enjoy some great italian food with good company. i love cibo & after five+ years of coming here I know i'll be back again and again. read more

I haven't drank here, but the cocktails tempt me and I don't really drink hard alcohol. There are many many items on this menu I want to order. I've ordered the eggplant cecina twice, which is a pizza-like/flatbread dish made of chickpea flour. It's fantastic, I crave it. Last night, I got the papardelle bolognese as my entree. Really great fresh noodles, tasty sauce. I think the prices are extremely reasonable, especially compared with other similar Italian restaurants in the area. My cecina was $12 and my pasta was $16.5, while my husband's pasta dish was only $14. Next time, I want to return for happy hour and try some different stuff...but the cecina, so we will see :) read more

Server should have me know when I asked that it wasn't included, but it was very good bread served with olive oil and a basil spread. Had the ravioli and braised beef special. Excellent.
