We came here for a family birthday celebration. Had a great time. Service and food were both excellent. And the wonderful view of the lake on a sunny day. We ordered the Idaho potato skins (without bacon) and they were supremely yummy! Crispy, cheesy, and just right with the sour cream. Our non-alcoholic drinks hit the mark. For mains, we ordered burgers and pasta primavera. The pasta had great flavors-- a nice cheesy sun-dried tomatoes sauce with a plethora of garden veggies. There was a nice kick to the sauce which I relished. We ordered crème brûlée for dessert. It was splendid! Our waitress was sweet-- she kept checking in on us to ensure we were doing okay with our food. A 10/10 here. Parking situation was okay given how crowded this side of the town gets on a weekend. We managed to find a spot. The only thing that confused me is I am not sure if this restaurant does complimentary birthday dessert. I indicated on my reservation but I don't believe they do anything about it. I am surprised that a restaurant at this caliber doesn't do anything to make their guests feel special. We told our waitress and she did bring a candle on the crème brûlée. I guess that's all they do then. My only other feedback is to have more vegetarian options on the menu. read more

There's something about these "yacht club aesthetic" harbor restaurants that always seems a little soulless and artificial: sometimes it's the menu that doesn't use fresh-caught, local seafood; sometimes it's the cheap pinewood tables and chairs camouflaged by nautical novelties; sometimes the place just sucks, and is propped up by nothing more than tourism, nostalgia, or worse: nostalgic tourists. Dockside avoids most of these maritime miscalculations, but leans into a few of them as well: namely, a lack of an unique identity. There's plenty of excellent looking, sounding, and tasting items on the menu, but none of them give you a clear picture of what story or trajectory the chef is trying to steer you toward, which honestly isn't that big of a deal, if you're just looking for a solid meal. You'll find that here, unquestionably. It's just not likely to be a particularly memorable one. Yes, the salmon dip was good, although there definitely wasn't enough bread, unless you slather it in enough spread to make the crostini underneath it seem like more of a suggestion. Our cocktails were on point, but you can tell that each pour of liquor was exacting and precisely measured, as to prevent any excessive alcohol beyond regulation. And when your bill comes to somewhere northwards of $80 for two drinks, an appetizer and a cup of soup, it's hard to cover that bitter taste in your mouth, no matter how good the stew tastes. It probably sounds like I am being unreasonably harsh on a restaurant that I've still giving three stars to, and perhaps I am; but only because Dockside feels like the sort of place that should be a designated dining destination, and not just a random ritzy resort restaurant that's WAY too hard to locate, if you're on foot using Google Maps, wandering around the perimeter of the building and wondering why you can't find any signage or entrances. Perhaps it was the aloof, disinterested server (and her anxious trainee) that seemed like she had better things to do elsewhere. Hell, maybe it was just me. But it's hard not to shake the feeling that Dockside is a ship adrift without a rudder, without a sextant, desperately searching for a north star to navigate toward, or a port to come home to, and finding nothing but the endless sea stretched out before it in all directions. read more

Nice place with a view of the harbor. Our waiter was very kind and very helpful. He brought water to our table with menus. Menus that look like small tablets. Yes, this is the new age menus on a tablet. I ordered their Mac N Cheese, I was told it's the best!! Others ordered Salad Bar, Burger and Fettuccine. I was not impressed with the Mac n Cheese. I think I expected more from a resort restaurant. But, aside from the food the service was great. read more

What a special treat! Great experience. Tremendous view from most tables. Lot of parking. First time visitor and boy was it a good one. Polite and knowledgeable young staff. Seated me and served water right away. The young server that served the water recommended the panino sandwich, which I was skeptical. The server was a lovely young lady who's name escapes me , but she had other recommendations. I ended up ordering a strawberry lemonade and the panino. It was the best sandwich. The bacon bits were carmalized and ham was seasoned well. I also had a bowl of split pea soup. It was creamy, rustic and very original. The view of the snow covered mountains and docks with sea planes in the background just added to the ambiance. I did notice a rather sizeable salad bar that looked fresh. 1.20.26: It's been hard to find a place that has a salad bar, so when I heard Dockside offered AYCE salad bar for $17 bucks I knew I had to check it out. We came for lunch and it wasn't busy at all. Our server came and took our drink order and I let her know 2 of us came for the salad bar, to which she said we could start right away. My friend ordered the Icon Burger, which is their 40th anniversary burger made with ground filet mignon. The salad bar was pretty basic, nothing extravagant, offering 2 types of lettuce, and the main staples you'd see on a typical salad, for example: tomato, cucumber, garbanzo beans, peas, red onions, shredded carrots, shredded cheeses, hard boiled eggs, olives, beets, and more. There were a couple of pasta salads, cottage cheese, and pistachio pineapple cream salad. There were 6 different salads dressings as well as oil and vinegar. What I enjoyed and appreciated is that all the ingredients were fresh--nothing looked old or wilted. My friend really enjoyed his filet mignon burger and said the fries were perfectly cooked and had a great season. I included a picture description of his yummy burger. We all know I love dessert, so I ordered one of their signature "Gooeys," the Magical Unicorn Gooey and boy was I in for a crazy magical treat lol. It was all my 8-year-old heart could have imagined and more! My friend ordered the Skillet Cookie and his mom got the Mountain Berry Cobbler. I will say every dessert ordered could have easily been shared between 2-3 people and all were really delicious. An upscale restaurant/bar located inside the cda resort. If youre not staying at the hotel, just park in the parking garage and validate your ticket at the bell desk because 2 hours is free. Decent experience in the resort restaurant. Everyone was hungry and we were seated right away. The server was nice but busy so we tried to make things easy. Had a nice calamari appetizer (a little spicy), handheld, a salad, and the trout plate. Things tasted great, had a nice table facing the lake, and the restaurant was pretty quiet considering it was a holiday weekend. We attended a birthday at Dockside. The salad bar was extremely disappointed. Certainly unworthy of $17. Adult beverages were extremely expensive. Waiters seemed to be jockeying around trying to avoid disaster with fellow waiters as well customers. I feel things have sadly gone down hill. read more

My husband and I came for breakfast after staying at the hotel. The dining area is very open and modern. As the name suggests, there are nice views of the dock and surrounding lake. We were quickly greeted and seated and our waitress was very nice and stopped by to take our order right away. I've been wanting to get around to try the infamous "gooeys" that Dockside offers for the longest time and I finally got around to it! The service: The service was absolutely exquisite. Literally some of the best customer service I've ever seen. It felt welcoming and the employees were very helpful! Our server, Anthony, was so professional and helpful. The food: I ordered a royal cheesecake gooey and my brother ordered a magical unicorn gooey (after a long masculine crisis that was really quite ridiculous). We received both gooeys after less than a fifteen minute wait! Both gooeys were SO GOOD, though they were very, very rich and huge. But it was literally the best ice cream I've ever had and all the toppings were perfect. The royal cheesecake one had strawberry ice cream, vanilla ice cream, crumbles of cheesecake, a slice of cheesecake on top, a strawberry, strawberry syrup, whipped cream, graham cracker crumbs, and a graham cracker. The unicorn one had bubblegum (or cotton candy?) ice cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, and candy. The environment: It was a very fancy, nice restaurant. It was very professional and clean. We came early at 3:45 before our Santa Cruz to have a quick dinner and dessert. We got a nice table at the windows. We could overlook the water and watch the boats coming and going. We could also see some of the Christmas lights on the boardwalk, which was really magical. My husband and I split a turkey Panini sandwich and a Cobb salad. Both were delicious. Definitely would recommend getting both my husband also had the vanilla bourbon espresso martini, and I had the Huckleberry Mojito both of them. I definitely recommend giving a try. The waiter was friendly and patient with my two crazy children. We also got dessert, the gooey of the month, the pumpkin spice gooey it was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend that too dockside never fails to deliver with great service, wonderful ambience, and great views of Coeur d'Alene. Strange pricing and false advertising aside, the taste and appeal of the $24.95 weekend breakfast buffet was disappointing. Eggs benedict looked old and tired. Huckleberry pancakes were thin and rubbery. Bacon overcooked. I guess it's a hazard of buffet cooking. I won't go back simply because of the food. My friends took me here for my birthday lunch. There were 11 of us, they sat us at a table for 10. They refused to add another table, saying everything was reserved! We were smashed into a corner & the table was at an angle. Several of us ordered the fish tacos. Well, let me tell you that fish was NOT fresh! I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning. I asked the two other folks who ordered them & they also didn't feel well that evening. The service was poor, water glasses sat empty, drinks not refilled & special dietary requests (no dairy) weren't delivered. The view is nice, but again we were seated in a corner! The potato skins were so burned, we couldn't even eat them. Our waiter was wonderful, the view is gorgeous, but $60 for 2 drinks and an appetizer we couldn't eat is just not ok. The host didn't have a clue about the food - HELLO she shud be the expert! I swapped squash veggies for potato and that is what I got a baked potato not even cut open. When I started eating my dry salmon, noticed it was raw, when I sent it back she brought butter back for my potato and announced it like she was doing me a favor. NEVER would eat here again. $75 for unseasoned salmon undercooked, plain baked potato! And three coconut shrimp! Worst eatery in a long time. The overall experience was ok. Dockside has great views and the wait staff was very friendly. But the food was exceptionally poor. The coconut shrimp starter was the highlight, coming directly from the deep fryer to our table. But the Rueben was super dry, almost beef jerky like. This restaurant has a beautiful view which makes can jump start your morning! Service is friendly but there are a few staff that you can tell have never been in the service industry. One table behind me asked for coffee 5 times and hot sauce 3 times. Felt bad for the guy! Service was slow and other staff didn't seem interested assisting the busy waitress. For breakfast, food looks beautiful but it's really hit and miss. I don't reccomend the avocado toast cause it's so drenched in butter you really can't taste anything else. The prime rib hash on the other hand is very balanced with just the right amount of heat. Coffee has soul - nice and strong! 5 star service from Jayde. She had a bunch of recommendations and helped us navigate through the menu. Apparently they revamped the menu items and were closed due to renovations. Went during lunch and any entree you order comes with a selection of sides. I ended up getting the serve-yourself-salad bar. It was great! My other half ordered crab with the steak and i wish they left the crab plain because it was super salty. I got the shrimp scampi- a bit oily but it was the perfect portion. Food was alright which is why im giving them 3 stars. I look forward to coming back because I didn't have room for dessert this visit. Apparently, they have this desserts called gooeys. read more
