This place is by far the most unprofessional business I have ever been to. The staff especially the owner are very rude. They acrylic nails look terrible. She did them in 10 minutes. If I could I won't give this place one star. Today I walked in to the owner arguing with a customer regarding g a service that wasn't properly discussed. As I tried to find my polish; for a polish change on my toes and ignore the disagreement between the two. The owner looked at me and said please don't touch the no chip bottles. I do NOT recommend this nail salon to anyone and do not believe it deserves any stars for a rating. (I am forced to give it even one star.) Jessica (the manager) and her staff are unprofessional and do not operate this establishment well. The staff members talk negatively about customers (in English) in front of other patrons, and Jessica's response to my complaint about this (in addition to other issues I raised to her) was to allow one of her staff members to interrupt and argue with me in front of other customers. Given that there are other nail salons in the vicinity that provide higher quality service, do not waste your time and money at Cici Nails. Let me explain why... I'm originally from the Chicagoland area and had been to this place multiple times before my fiancé and I moved to a different state. Never really had any issues but definitely had better experiences elsewhere. Since we're visiting for the Fourth, I stopped by early during the weekday to get a mani. During my service, a woman came in to receive a pedi. She asked for them to disinfect the foot tub and said that she usually asks them to do this. Definitely fair and understandable. The staff members said that they had cleaned it the night before, and since the salon just opened, they said it was still clean. The woman still didn't feel comfortable, so she asked for them to clean it. They sprayed it, but the woman was surprised that they weren't using another liquid solution to disinfect it. She ended up requesting Jessica and then left when the staff told her she was not yet in. When she left the salon, the staff members openly (and loudly) talked about her (in English)! Very unprofessional. Meanwhile, I was unhappy with the service I was receiving from my nail tech. I definitely am understanding of the language barrier, but what upset me was the attitude of the nail tech who DID understand and speak English while she was relaying what I was requesting (which was just to make sure the second coat of polish was thin and not as thick as the first coat). She ended up finishing my nails but was pretty negligent and dismissive - even forgot to turn on the drying station for me. After observing the staff's unprofessional behavior with the other customer and not being happy with my own experience, I wanted to share this with the manager. Not at all helpful. Jessica did not set a good example as the manager. All she really cared about was whether or not I was satisfied with the polish job, which should not be the only measure of service. If the experience of the service is shoddy, it's just as bad as a poor polish job. Jessica wasn't willing to let me fully speak with her in private about why I was dissatisfied. Instead, she let her staff member yell across the room (in front of other customers!) to interrupt and argue with me. Because I had to leave for an appointment (and because I was frustrated by the whole thing), I left. Jessica apologized as I left, but I proceeded out the door and wanted to speak with her later for a refund. I ended up speaking with her by phone. She went from being apologetic to rude. She said she would only refund me half of what I paid. Although the cost was so small and it wasn't about the money, I still couldn't believe her attitude. She ended up telling me she would refund me in full, BUT she would remove the polish from my nails when I came in for the refund. Unbelievable. I went here to get my acrylic nails removed. First, the man doing my nails split my nail open with the filing machinery and left my nail bleeding. He failed to apologize or say anything to me, instead he CONTINUED to use the same tool and almost split another one of my nails until I said enough. This place has an uncomfortable atmosphere. The employees continuously yell at each other, sit in their phones with their earbuds in, and yell about their personal problems in front of the customers. On top of that, the tools they use here are used and unsanitary. They are cheap and do not care about their customers well being, please do not come here! Ok, two years later I've returned under new management. So far it hasn't been horrible--friendly receptionist, big improvement. For the most part--many of the staff are attentive and skilled. Skills are extremely important in a nail salon--particularly when there is another one on the other side of this strip mall. Owners Amy & Ryan are so far pretty good. Both are friendly although Ryan makes a better initiative. The salon appears cleaner although a sanitary wipe down of the stations after a manicure is still needed IMO. As a new establishment, the product should look relatively fresh and if not, should be routinely replenished. Those are my only issues but I will come back because Amy does a good job. read more

First the tech cut my cuticles and made me bleed, my fingers were stinging for several days. Second she did not provide a top coat for my manicure, she had to rush because her manager demanded that she was taking too long at the table we were at. Third they take too long to provide service, you can sit there for hours to have your service started. Even if you get your pedi, there may be a huge delay in getting the manicure. Well... I've been going here on and off for years and have gotten plenty of great pedicures. Monday, I was in for a pedicure and asked my lady if she could get the sides of my nails good because I tend to get little ingrown toenails a lot. I've had them removed loads of times from them in the past and never had issues. My lady did not understand what I was saying, so the manager chimed in and said she'd fix it for me. I had a bad feeling about this because I've never once seen the manager perform a pedicure.. She will make people wait until someone else is available to do it. Anyways, she dug so deep into the sides of my nail and was clipping so hard that my toe was bleeding. I had a bad feeling when she was doing this, and I was right. My toes are now infected and I get excruciating pain if I just tap my toe on something. I was a huge advocate of this place before, but now I'm not so sure. The worse part is, I feel like even if I went in to complain or show her what she did to my toes, she wouldn't show any sympathy or remorse. Sucks that the manager is such an unpleasant person who doesn't care about her customer service. I would NOT give this place an eighth of a star!! Their hygiene practices are an absolute disgrace!!! Today I took my mother here for a pedicure which turned into complete turmoil. The technician had just completed a pedicure and only sprayed the spa tub with Lysol and then rinsed it out. I explained to the technician the importance of breaking down the spa filter to clean it and asked her to remove it so that it can be cleaned. Needless to say she refused, so I took the liberty to remove the filter cover myself and to my surprise there was guck and who knows what else growing in and around the filter. I showed this to the technician and told her that it needed to be cleaned, so she took a previously nail brush, applied soap, and scrubbed the filter with it. After that, she placed the nail brush back into the caddy to be used on my mother's feet! I told the technician that under no circumstance will she use that brush on my mother's feet/hands or anyone else in this shop for that matter. The technician went to get the owner (Jessica) who further defended what the technician did and insisted that her shop was clean. Jessica is completely rude and has absolutely no respect for safety/sanitation. Furthermore, she has absolutely no respect for customers or people who have spent their money in her establishment. You can be rest assured that my mother and I will not be back. I recommend for anyone to steer clear of this place before the department of health shuts it down for unsafe and poor hygiene practices! read more

Beware when you go to this salon ! The technicians appear to make up the prices as the manicure occurs which leads to deceptive pricing. The shop is under new ownership, but I would prefer the previous owners. Save you money and go to Classy Nails in the same mall where the technicians are friendlier and pricing is upfront. read more

Do. Not. Go. Here. Ever. Unless you want to pay people to yell at you. I've been there twice now, the first time the owner yelled at me because "i should have told her I wanted my nails cut". Umm. What. Why do i have to tell you i want my nails cut WHEN I'M GETTING A MANICURE??? My bad, i thought that was usually a part of a manicure....i had no idea i had to tell you i wanted my nails cut. I've apparently been wrong my entire life at every salon I've ever been to, because I've never had to give the direction of wanting my nails cut and filed. So i just went today, saw a different girl. She painted a few nails on my first hand, at which point i noticed that she was leaving a lot of space between the edge of the polish and the end of my nail by the cuticle, so i asked her VERY NICELY, to please put the polish all the way to the end of my nail. At which point she raised her voice at me. Sorry, but don't only halfway paint my nails so i have to come back in 5 days to get them repainted because it would look like they were already grown out. I kindly explained to her that it is my manicure and my nails, and that's how i want then painted. If i wanted a grown out looking manicure, that looked like crap, i would do it myself. This was the second time going back to CiCi's and I would think not going back for a while would improve the quality of the work. It didnt actually the job I had done on my nails was shoddy because I had them do a gel manicure and it was done on a monday and by Wednesday it was already showing wear. The man who did it was asked to cut the nails down and he said my nails were fine...how are they fine when the nail on my left index finger was about to outgrow the tip and it was freshly put down on a monday and by wednesday it was less than an inch away from outgrowing the tip I have cuticles and major hangnails that needed trimming and the worker didnt do anything to them after I asked him to trim them down. The owner seems to not value much of her staff's work. I am going back to the places that I know do good work and won't jack up my nails and are worth the money. This place is a piece of crap salon and the rich b's of Tinley Park can go and pay money and watch these idiots talk about them in Korean and wouldnt understand a darn thing they're saying . Believe the reviews this place is horrible. My daughter got gel nails and they look like a 2 year old did them. Less than a week later they were coming off she came back and they tried to fix it today only to mess them up even more and cut her fingers. We walked in here at about 4:00 on Saturday and the place was PACKED. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get in for the pedicure. The chairs you sit in to wait for service are awful, but the chairs for the mani/pedis are nice. The pedicure chairs are massage chairs. The place wreaked of nail supplies (not sure exactly what is is, but it was awful). The atmosphere is pretty nice - it would be nice if they had some relaxing music and something other than a football game on the TV. The people working there were nice for the most part (some of them were not). The prices are very fair, and they did a great job. I was really impressed with the work they did. If the place didn't wreak, the staff was friendlier, and the atmosphere was a little nicer, I would give it 5 stars. read more

First visit to Cici Nails tonight. Mixed emotions. I did not experience any of the rudeness that others report below, but did have to take the time to write a review. First, if you own a nail salon, it is IMPERATIVE that you keep your salon, tools and tubs clean. When I really started looking around and paying attention, I couldn't believe how filthy everything was. I even had to ask for a paper towel to clean where my hands would be during the manicure. As I watched another customer sit down at a pedicure tub that had NOT been cleaned after another left I almost lost it. This is a huge opening to spread sickness! On top of all, the tools used to scrub feet, polish off dead skin and the brush to take off nail polish excess were put directly back in the kits for the next customer with only a quick rinse....in my dirty pedicure filled tub!! I actually asked the lady working with me about it but she did not speak a word of English. On a good note, the most basic pedicure was performed very well. The lady went above and beyond what normal salons would, and the pricing for a pedi/mani was good on their mon-wed special. Based on what others have said, I must have had the manager of this place. She hadn't even started my manicure when she looked at me and asked "do you want an eyebrow wax?" I politely declined because I like to keep my eyebrows thicker. She then came back at me with "are you sure? It looks like you need one." I occasionally go to this place, maybe once or twice a year to get a pedicure. Not anymore! Last time I went, the woman doing my pedicure was using that tool that looks like a cheese grater on the bottom of my feet (the one one to get the dead skin off) and she gave me about an inch long cut on the side of my foot!! And she didn't even apologize or say anything to me! She just put some solution ( I don't even know what it was) on it and kept going! That was the last straw. Every other time I've gone, they are never nice and have a rude air about them. Also, there can be an extremely long wait, even during off peak hours. Once I waited for over and hour. It wasn't because there were so maybe people there, it was because they only had two people doing pedicures. Furthermore, I was extremely worried about my foot getting infected because I have seen the way they "sanitize" the pedicure stations. One little squirt of Lysol and that's it, it doesn't ever cover half the tub your feet go in. I only kept going here because there are no other comparable places in the area, but from now on I will be taking my business to higher end salons such as the Jeffrey Lamorte in the area. I am a regular here at CiCi nails and I have read these reviews and I do agree with the rudeness of the owner. I am a client of Angel. She's has such a pleasant attitude and does NOT join in on the rudeness that her boss displays unless something is ruining her clients time. She's very neat, she takes her time and does not rush your services. She very particular about her work and will only give you her best. As for the owner, she sometimes seem like she hates on the fact that people come in with request of another person. Can't help the fact that Angel is better. Angel just doesn't do acrylics. I'm sure if she wanted to learn she'd be the best at it!! Jessica comes in sometimes fussing and it ruins the mood that was in the atmosphere prior to her arrival. Angel will and always will be my nailtec. When Angel went on vacation I did patronize the owner but never again with her. Jade is another one that's requested often. There is a guy here that's with brownish colored hair that's only doing Hands and he's good too.. If you're available to come here on a Monday , like I , the atmosphere is totally different than the weekend!! I'd never come here on the weekend unless it was a Sunday.. for the most part on Mondays the place is quiet and less busy and the most peaceful.. I hope this helps for future potential clients.. oh and as for cleanliness.. I'm sure at the end of the day it is quite unkept as any nail shop that you'd step in is at closing. Although they have given me one of the best pedicures I've had, it also is one of the most unprofessional and arrogant salons I've ever gone to. The no chip is completely on point. I will personally never go to Cici Nails again! I made an appointment earlier today because i have a big event tomorrow and when I got there I had to wait 10 min. to be seated in the pedi chair. That was fine everything was going good. I look over and about 6 of the nail techs doing each others nails and one was even sleeping in the pedi chair! Whatever my nails are getting done I'm fine. When I was getting my pedi. The nail tech commented on how short my toe nails were and then talked to the ladies next her ( not in English might I add). Whatever I'm getting slightly agitated that's fine my toes look ok. We get to the the place where they do ur finger nails and I told the girl doing my nails, please don't cut my nails and just shape them with the nail file. Well I guess she didn't like that idea cause she cut the tips of my nails off and didn't even file then right! All my nails are uneven and she did a terrible job painting my nails! I was so upset that u left the place in tears. This is the worst experience I've had getting my nails done, this is not the first time I've had bad service from this place, and a few of my friends have also had not so good experiences here. "NEVER GO TO THIS NAIL SALON" I went there on Saturday for a pedicure. I had a $10.00 gift certificate that was dated 05/2009, but did not have an expiration date on it. While my toes were drying I gave the gift certificate to my nail technician who brought it to her manager. The manager put 12 months in the expiration date section and then told me it was no good. I told her you just put the expiration date on it and she said OH Well, this no good now and we are under new management anyway. Who treats their paying customers like that. My family usually buys between $300 - $500 in gift certificates from here for Birthdays, Mother's Day, and Christmas, but never again. I walked in thought I'd treat myself to no chip nail polish on my finger nails. I paid $45 since I got the 'chrome' finish kind. It chipped the next day!!! The top layer of the chrome like finish has been peeling off since the second day. This is ridiculous! Don't waste your time and money. I had made two appointments for my daughter & I to get no chip mani and a regular pedi. I specifically asked if we could sit together because I have been there before with a small group and we were all over the place and finished at different times. Well as stated before, the place was packed when we got there with customers and only a few techs. They stroll in when they want to, including the not so nice owners. At 11:00 we still were not seated for our 10:30 appt. I was sat first, however, my daughter who was sat after me finished way before me and paid with gift certificates and tipped and left to do some shopping, since we were running so late and we're leaving for vacation the next day. When I was getting my pedi done and on the phone long distance, the tech came to me and said one of the gift certificates had expired and she didn't catch it when ringing my daughter out. She expected me to call her to come pay the $40, which I thought was very unreasonable, since they had already received the $40 cash for the certificate and it had just expired a week or so before. This had happened to my daughter before. The owner came over and told me that the tech would not get paid for that service if We didn't pay $40. She was very loud & rude, which I gave her right back. I told her they had already received the $ and that they were late for my appt, to no avail. We paid the extra $40 and will never return. Hoping that this review will open others eyes to the poor business practice this place has. We have been going there for years, but not any more. The owner also said that if we had come in prior to the certificate expiring, they would have changed the date. WHAT is the point of that, couldn't they just have taken it? There also was a man that came that day for a pedi. He waiting for hours to get in the chair & then was soaking for over an hour before a tech even touched him. I come here from time to time when I don't have time to go to a better place. The service is -1. They don't greet you, the lady that runs it is very rude, does not greet, say thank you or nothing. The head guy is just as rude and does not know how to do a proper fill in. My nails looked like I was a week into a fill in when I left. They need to learn proper professionalism. Absolutely the WORST nail experience I have ever had. I have been to many different nail salons over the years and I have never felt more uncomfortable in a salon. First of all, 2 of the nail techs were asleep in the pedicure chairs, another nail tech was doing his own nails, and I was left with an extremely rude, cocky, and angry nail tech. She overcharged me by $9. I got a fill in and she charged me $28. $28 DOLLARS FOR A FILL IN. She rolled her eyes at my on several occasions, she was lying to me about prices, she cut my skin on two different fingers and the nail polish was everywhere. I had my nails on for 4 days and 2 of them have already broken. It took her maybe 10 minutes to do my nails.
