Yes, 5 stars. Yelp says that means "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" Your mileage may vary (c'mon, it's a buffet), but I'm interpreting that to mean "This is as good as it gets for a pizza buffet", and on the day and at the time I went, that's my opinion of this location. Somehow this location has the same number of stars (2.5 at the time of this writing) as the 14005 N Highway 183 location, which I actually live a lot closer to, and that's just not fair, because this Round Rock location is better by leaps and bounds! Part of why I went to this one is to find out if Cicis went so downhill in general, and I'm pleased to learn that is not the case // Update: Looks like I got this location's score up to 3 stars - woohoo. =) This location was cleaner, the pizza was better, there were more choices, they kept the buffet filled out, they actually had dessert unlike the 183 location, the staff was friendlier, there were more employees working, and they had music (good music) playing (Tears for Fears - yea!). They had this unique chicken pizza with tortilla strips and a little green salsa on it that I thought was really good, and I usually don't like green salsa. I also had their cheese pizza, spinach pizza, and BBQ pizza. They had the available spinach in regular crust and thin crust. I love that they haven't changed their spinach pizza recipe in over 20 years. The dessert pizzas can be very floppy and could probably use a thicker crust, but they taste great. The cinnamon roll dessert is my favorite. Anyway, for $6.48, this was a complete steal. I will try the Lamar location next, which has 4 stars, to see if it's really that much better than this one. Cici's is not the tastiest pizza on earth, but it sure does get the job done when you're hankering for a fresh, hot, pepperoni pizza or a very wonderfully sugary dessert pizza. Ask the people behind the counter to make you a custome/special pizza and in about 5 minutes they'll bring it to your table - no extra charge. There is a salad bar, pasta bar, dessert bar, and about 10 different pizzas out at all times. The only negative I see is their "arcade" games are ripoffs... the claw doesn't grab, and the ball game just straight up stole my money. Stay away from the games and this will be a 100% enjoyable experience! read more

I'll give it 5 stars for great management. the place does look dated, but this is way better than Gatti pizza, always a great selection and if the pizza isn't out there, they're more than happy to make something for you, always a friendly staff and management (went not so crowded) goes around making sure everything is fine. Closed without notice at 4:30 pm on Sunday during normally open hours for some special customers apparently. Served the customer in front of our family of 2 adults and 2 children under 9. We could see the buffet fully stocked and without anyone taking any food from it at that moment. They put a hand-written sign in the door, said they were closed to us, and that we could come back in an hour (which made no sense to us, driving down from Waco to S. Austin today). They said something about a really big group coming or big order coming in? We've eaten here multiple times, but this just beats all. They really earned their star today. read more

Let me start off by saying that this is the first sit down restaurant that I have been to since this pandemic started March 13 to be exact that I started staying at home. I have been at home with my 3 kids, helping my daughter with her school work and everything else that has came along with it. I have been to Walmart, target and heb here and there employees have been rude at times. But not here at cicis the young girl I didn't get her name was SO nice from the beginning. Very polite and kind yes ma'am or no ma'am to everything I said. She would say thank you! The whole place was clean, it was set up for every other table. They handled everything. The cashier was nice everything about this first sit down experience of mine was just amazing! I can't thank the young girl enough it made my day! Man out of all the CICIS in the area I think this one is the worst and I like cicis. So at this location first of all it smells like propane or like that fingernail cleaner that gets the nail polish off and it was a strong smell. Then the pizza when I first got here tasted old and some was burnt and not too much to choose from. Then when they finally put out more pizza it wasn't cooked all the was super chewy. Oh and a lot of the tables were filthy. Cicis at this location you need to do better. read more

We came here for pizza for the kids after school we knew it was Cicis and didn't expect much but it was beyond disgusting! Not only is the place absolutely filthy but the food was old and my son found a finger nail in his salad. The sad part was we paid over $40 to eat crap in a filthy environment. NEVER again! This place has changed since last time i was here. One manager that was always there is not there anymore. There is always little girls who appear to be between the age of 16-18 working the front area. The other people who work there are a few guys and they are in the back. Not sure what that is all about. The manager that is there does look a bit like a fat kid in a candy store looking at the girls up and down...however...it is just my perception. I have this sad weakness for CiCi's Pizza. I'll make the trip and eat more than my body weight in pizza and pasta. The sad part about it, It's really not even that great... right? We were close to this location and will forever avoid the N. Lamar and 35 locations at all costs. Friday night, high school sports teams, kids, typical packed house. The buffet was kind of sad guys. None of their specialty pizzas on the buffet at all. No BBQ, Mac and cheese, taco, the bacon Alfredo one. Just typical, normal pizzas. Let's be real guys, the only reason we come here is because of the funky pizzas! So disappointing! We had a Mac and cheese made for us and the cheeses sauce or something tasted freezer burned! Bleh! This Cici's is far better than the others I have been to in terms of food and service. I am particularly impressed with the freshness of the salad bar. One time at a different location I asked if they could make a BBQ pizza for the buffet and they just pulled out a pre-made pizza from under the counter and set it on the buffet. It was cold and had obviously been sitting a while. This strange occurrence actually put me off of Cici's for a few years. Stuff like that doesn't happen at this Cici's. I often go in late (after 9:00 on a weekday) and they always have fresh pizza on the buffet. The employees are always happy to make a custom pizza when you ask. read more

Pizza was consistently hot and tasty. There were a variety of choices without me having to ask. The cinnamon rolls need some work though- the tops are chewy (probably slightly overcooked) and there isn't enough icing. Also couldn't find grated parmesan anywhere but those are my only 2 complaints. read more

So I tried the new base. It's OK, I think a definite improvement, but not a significant enough change to the experience to change the rating. It's still pretty much exactly A-OK. You can still just totally stuff yourself on A-OK pizza, pasta and salad for a very reasonable price. I like the offers they have (seems like every few months) where you can get the pizza buffet (not including drinks) for $5 for a whole month - I think one time, they extended it for like three months in a row. Although this is the second occasion that I've come here and there is a hand printed sign on the door dictating that they were closing at a specific time even though there were people inside the building. Everyone is greeted as soon as you walk in the door with a boisterous "Welcome to Cici's" every time. The prices are great for what you get and what you get is an all you can eat buffet of pizza and salad. Have a special request, If you can dream it up and they have the toppings ask any of the friendly employees and they will make it, no matter how crazy the toppings or amount. They will give you a number and will bring it out to your table. My favorite is the alfredo pizza with all my custom trimmings and I try to get as much as I can. The pizza only comes on the buffet in one size, large and the dough only comes in one flavor, bland. This is not one of the places you will eat the crust first since it is tasteless. I pile the crust onto another plate as a sign of how many I have consumed. The downsides to this location is largely the smell and lack of upkeep. During my last visit I was witness to a few of the sealing tiles crashing to the floor of the dining room soaked in water that continued to drip long after the tiles landed on a fellow diner's table. The smell is one of old dirty carpet and industrial cleaning supplies. The closer to the drink station you get the stronger the odor. The smell is strong enough that it permeates the entire space and can ruin your appetite. I understand that this is a chain location and the menu is largely not up for debate but the smell is entirely within the capablities of the manager to correct. read more

Great price if you want to eat unlimited pizza and other things. The place was so busy that the employees couldn't keep up on bringing out the pizzas. At least the pizzas were hot and fresh which was the good part of eating. The main concern was the tables were not getting cleared and wiped down for the next customers to sit down and eat. Also, the empty plates were not being replaced constantly as people were waiting for the empty plates to come out. The process of this place is slow and cannot keep up when it gets really busy. They need more staffs and the fountain machine had ice filled up like a mountain! The floor was sticky and a lot of trash on the floor which was not swept. 01/23/10 We (my husband and his kids) went to Cicis Pizza of Round Rock. We immediately noticed the welcoming staff and CHAD, the manager of this place. He would introduce himself as he walked by asking if we needed anything. His staff was very as i would say "On the ball" I wanted to know what energy drink they were taking...Even the cook, this guy kept washing his hands over and over, and with such energy almost seemed that he would break the paper towel holder of the wall. Such energy! They were constantly busy; keeping the buffet full of deliciousness. Also, doing specialty pizzas as ordred by the customers. So, we decided to put them to the test. First we asked for a plain cheese pizza (done fast), half an hour later(almost) we asked for a chicken, spinach, and tomatoe pizza with olives. I was truly impressed after going back to cici's after about 5 years. I've tried most of the varieties, but the veggie, taco and spinach Alfredo pizzas stand out. The soup was great and not too salty. For the price, I don't think I could ask for more. They even changed the crust to a garlic butter crust and it's great all by itself. Do yourself a favor and go back for a great deal if you have a pizza craving. read more

I'm not a huge fan of CiCi's pizza...but every now and again I crave their pizzas and deserts. This one made a wonderful impression mostly because of their staff. We came in about an hour before close, we were greeted very politely even though half the pizzas were already cleaned up. I didn't mind because my favorite was still out, but the manager(I believe) offered to make us whatever pizza we wanted fresh. That was awesome. So my husband wanted supreme...and he brought out my favorite kind fresh along with it, even though I had said I was okay. This had to be the nastiest pizza I ever had. My kids got coupons at school for a free kids buffet so we came here to let them redeem them. I tried the spinach alfredo, regular alfredo, veggie, and pepperoni pizzas. The pepperoni was the only one that was edible. It's hard to mess that up though. My wife tried the mac and cheese but it was just as gross. I figured I would just eat breadsticks and marinara. The marinara was just tomato paste. Don't think I'll be going back. read more

I love the atmosphere here!! The staff is wonderful and fun!! They say you get what you pay for however in this case that is so far from the truth. What you get here is great customer service, cleanliness, great price for the food. My kiddos were craving Cici's so we decided to go early before the lunch time rush. We got there at 11am, the time they opened and we just all stood there. The restaurant didn't unlock its doors until 11:20. Once inside, the service was great. The pizza...well the pizza was $5.99 worth. We had driven for 3 hours and pulled off when we saw the CiCi's sign. It was at 11:30 AM when we entered. There was hardley any pizza and not a good selection. Even the salad bar was bare. My daughter and I wanted a to go cup and was charged $1.29 for each cup. This was the worst CiCi's I have ever been in to eat and not a friendly business. We (especially the kids) love this place. We're probably in there once a week, minimum. It's an easy win with the kids when we're out running around after work and have to get dinner cheap and get them home before bedtime. The owners & managers are great. Staff is always super courteous and willing to help. On a few occasions we've been there when they've been swamped and didn't really have anything out that we liked. In which case all we do is ask, and they make it. They'll make you whatever you want in just a few minutes with a smile and a "thank you". The cinnamon rolls are the bomb. The pizza is always good. Seriously, where can you eat with a family of 4 these days for ~$20? We have been here a couple times over the past three months (summer). When you walk in from being 100 degrees it feels decent, and then you realize their AC is not really working. There is no note anywhere that the AC is broken when you come in. They seem to lack the fortitude to make the more popular pizzas more often (pepperoni, cheese, and other meat type ones) cause they never seem to have enough. When one comes out, it is like vultures circle and it is gone with in seconds. This is while they have the oddball ones (Alfredo, spinach, etc.) sitting there virtually untouched. The last visit they had some grungy looking guy with an unlit cigarette in his mouth come out of the kitchen area in a black tank top. He cleaned up some stuff from the floor, and was very chummy with the manager. Based on this and other things I have concerns about the cleanliness of the place overall. I would give this place less than 1 star if it would let me. In the end you will have a more positive experience (food and temperature) if you went someplace else, like Mr. Gattis (for around same cost). read more

AWFUL. Don't come here. I came in on a Sunday during lunch, it was very busy- totally expected, no big deal. There appeared to be no manager working though, just several teenagers standing in the kitchen, shuffling pizzas around. The food I did not have a problem with. It was the condition of the restaurant that had me horrified. Trash, cucumbers, smashed food everywhere. Several filthy tables. Not an appetizing atmosphere! Anyways the real kicker was that water was leaking from the walls in the arcade, right over the electrical outlet and across the floor, puddling under a game machine on the other side of the room. It's very concerning, as my kids are begging to play in here. I have to hunt down an employee and when I let him know, his response is "yeah". I didn't even ask a question?? I merely informed him of the situation and his answer is "yeah"? Dumbfounded, I just kinda wait for some sort of response that makes sense. When he sees I'm not walking away he begrudgingly says "I will fix it". I thank him and redirect my kids to dessert.
