I decided to give golden corral, another opportunity to earn my business again after horrible customer service a couple of years ago. Today, I stand very disappointed with my decision of going back to golden corral. Inspiring I placed my order online at 3:43 Pm Sunday. I arrived at the restaurant at four thirty order was not ready. I had to repeat my name to the same lady on three separate occasions.When she wanted to ask me the name of the order.I was waiting on. As for my order, online are pictures are very deceiving. It takes me back to a bait and switch type transaction. I ordered the catfish dinner, which clearly shows online.That is two fellas well as you can see in the picture that I provided those are not two fillets.Those are very small.Bite sizes of fish. Also on top of that, they had the audacity to put three french fries in my plate which I did not order french fries.But they gave me three french fries. Do some people may say that i'm being real?Petty about this review and the food. In this day and time where the economy is not treating anyone fairly.The restaurant business has no problem with raising their prices. If you're gonna raise your prices, you need to make sure that the quality and the customer service is there Bixby. Equip misleading your customers to think that they're getting something in which they're not getting. One last thing they allowed a panhandler to sit in front of their door to ask people for money going in and going out, while I was there, there was a couple of customers that brought it 21 of the cashier's attention, not sure.She understood what he was saying.But when I left the guy asked me for money, I just don't think that's a great place for that to be happening.It's a business. read more

The last time I've been to a Golden Corral was in 2019 in Puyallup, Washington. This location is traditionally huge and just the way I recall it in California. The one in Washington is small. I came in with my Austin family today 10/27/24. They were generous to treat me. Yayyyy!! The weekend lunch price is $14.29 per person. Senior citizens price is $13.29. We all go the sweet tea which is $2.99 each. The restaurant packed a pretty great crowd. An abundance of food and pastries, grill station, seafood station, salad bar and much more! They no longer have the chocolate fondue, however, what is offered are the chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered marshmallows and semi chocolate covered rice krispies. I ate a good amount of food and ended with desserts: cheesecake, banana pudding, bread pudding, churro, chocolate pudding and banana icee, strawberry icee mixed with vanilla ice cream. The icee machine scared the heck out of me as it sprayed the both icee'son my bowl. LOL! The servers were very nice and attentive. They picked up the used plates timely and provided refills when low. The service is good, but the food is so ass. The ice cream melts into sloop in two seconds, and I might've gotten food poisoning. There were flies in the restaurant and hair in the cookies. I was disappointed to eat at GCB today. Salad bar not fresh as used to be few years back. Meats & veggies bar look over cooked. The seafood bar look fresh but salty fried fish will us seniors. The waitress are unfriendly especially toward Asian. I need help and they ignored me so they can service the Hispanic family even I raised my hand for help. People are rushed to get their food almost ran into you. The only thing is OK is the restaurant restroom kept clean. I go to GCB because I love their salad bar and seafood bar on Friday now food is overdone and too much salt in everything. I chose to stop eating at GCB for now. Maybe I be back next year to see any improvements and changes. 5 years ago I love to go GCB with friends and family. Ever since the recent chages; it has been fairly okay. Today, we came and found so much offensive decor (some Halloween decor). This is not a federal holiday and only a pagan celebration which not everyone participates. So much that many people do not openly state if mental issues; which these items are a trigger to their inner peace. No one wants to have to physically avoid the foid stations to not have to endure such horrific decor. It us very unwelcoming to try to enjoy a late lunch and not being able to go to all stations to choose. It is getting harder and harder to take out my older/younger family members around October to any "family friendly" places and not feel these "mental triggers". read more

We decided to spend our Thanksgiving day here, wow I didn't realize others had the same idea well any who I like the idea of there being a different variety of food to choose from, of course I had to get the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce. When I go to Heaven, I'm going to hi-5 the dude or dudette who invented buffets, as he/she made places like this possible. The price amazes me. We got 3 meals for under $36 and many non-buffets have higher prices. This price especially rocks in this day of inflation! I appreciate unlimited portions, especially since I am an ultra runner. Some of the food is lower quality, but that is the tradeoff. They especially rock at cooking potatoes! The best item was the most ironic: potato chips. Their homemade potato chips were unbelievably delicious. They transformed boring potato chips into culinary masterpieces. Hurray for buffets! read more

Late Father's Day review. Went out for something's fast everyone chose Golden Corral. They did have a lot of fresh selections available. Place was packed so mad props for keeping everything fairly clean and very well stocked. I also want to say the staff was all working really hard taking care of everyone. The only major drawback was the entire restaurant was way to hot don't know if ac was out or maybe not on but that part was uncomfortable for everyone both customers and staff. I can say food was fairly decent over previous visits. As a buffet connoisseur, I prioritize ones with healthy and tasty options. Golden Corral gives you all the comfort food you could want without forcing you to be unhealthy. My signature go to plate is some fried catfish with lots of greens on the side and maybe some mashed potatoes. It's a chain. The food is of dependable quality. The dessert area is smashed but passable and full of yummy things that might have been sitting there a bit. The salad bar is just okay but has some delicious fresh surprises. I actually thought the seafood was the best on the menu here but I really love seafood. My son thought the fresh prime rib was the best. We both enjoy their breads. The unlimited drinks are great. The waitresses really do try to keep you happy. It's really large inside so the line to pay and get inside does not take as long as it looks like it might. The place is looking better than in 2019. Finally with the coof nonsense out of the way, we can enjoy buffets again. It seems that the staff is more friendly. All the hot foods I tried were great, the brisket, sausage and ribs. However, I think I am skip the salad bar for now on and just do the hot food. The staff may be doing an excellent job at food handling. But with many children running around, I think that negates. It was a sweltering 89F dining experience! 85F if you were lucky to get a cooler spot. I could be off. My wife said it was cooler outside. Take note, the current Austin, TX temp was around 98F at about 7PM... Don't waste your money or family time experience here. If you can't run a proper business, you shouldn't be in business. The audacity of this place to continue packing people in like tuna with no air conditioning is beyond me. We won't be coming back here until they fix the air conditioning issue. There are lots of choices to pick from and they seemed to keep the food restocked as it got low. My only issue was sanitation. My husband had a hair on his steak and the unisex restroom had urine all over the place. The dessert bar was a complete mess. We came to eat at prime time on Mother's Day so maybe that explains the mess but for $55 on dinner buffet for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 5 @ 9 I'd expect a cleaner restaurant! I can't imagine anyone who has not, at least once in their life, eaten at one of these chain buffets. Golden Corral is one of the oldest that is still operating, but there are many similar ones like Western Sizzlin' and Ryan's. We were here on a Sunday evening at 7:45 pm. The food was actually pretty good, as cafeteria fare goes. It was full, fresh and piping hot (which is a big health department plus). I liked that it didn't seem over seasoned like some places that try to make "out of the can" food taste better. The pot roast was fork tender and cooked with new potatoes and onions in a light beef broth and was as good as homemade. The vegetables were also pretty good and while the green beans were rather bland, they were still passable. They featured "skillet" cornbread, but it was too sweet for my taste - more like a cake. This doesn't pretend to be a steak place as it once did, and there was no kind of steak on the buffet at all, save pork steak which my wife said was tender and very good. There were a variety of the sugar loaded deserts, and a soft serve machine with that milky tasting frozen product I didn't recognize as ice cream. Now, that being said, I will say that this is a very busy place. The clientele are what you can expect in an "all you care to eat" place, so cut off shorts and flip flops are fine for the ladies and the gentlemen. I think you might need to have a shirt on men, but I'm not really sure. There was some funky odor I noticed as soon as we entered the dining room, and I'm still not sure what it was or how to describe it. After being there for a short time, I didn't notice it but it did smell when we first entered, and it did not smell good. The food bars had seen a lot of use that Sunday, and to say they were neat and appealing would be to tell a lie. It was just a case of so many people "helping themselves" and not enough staff to keep everything wiped down and carted away. Many of the tables were piled high with dishes & it took a little while to remedy that situation. Not appealing to eat your meal next to somebody else's leftover supper. So you need to be able to take that all in stride, like when you were in college and didn't give a damn where you ate if you were hungry. That's how you found out some of those dives had some pretty good eats. Being drunk also helped. I was surprised that the food was actually pretty tasty, and I was more surprised that I was not sick after eating there. There are signs at each "station" that say "CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT". Well, they may as well throw those signs in the trash. Little kids were running around everywhere with their leaky noses and drooling mouths, sneezing and coughing and handling the food with their hands, especially at the desert bar -- which I avoided like the plague, so as not to get it. How that can be allowed is beyond me. They were sticking their fingers in the stuff and tasting it! So I just ate the healthy stuff like vegetables, salads, and stewed or baked meats; you know, the things you couldn't force down a small child with a rifle rod. The secret is to get there early in the dinner hour, or lunch hour, or breakfast hour. If you are running late and arrive at the end of the meal period the stuff is dried out and picked over and, well, not any good. But when it's fresh, it's about as good as you can find in this type of setting. And remember after all, it is "All you care to eat." read more
