    Dessert food

Our visit to Cici's was a pleasant one. The workers were friendly and polite. The pizzas were hot and fresh, well-stocked, as well as a couple of desserts out and the salad bar was well-stocked as well. I didn't find any Parmesan so I asked the lady behind the counter and she happily provided me some. The Christmas music was on point too. Thanks crew!

One thing we really appreciated is that if it's your birthday, they give you a 25% discount, which was a great surprise and made the occasion even better. Our whole family had a wonderful time. Our 6-month-old daughter, Genesis, had a blast chewing on the ribs, and our one-year-old son, Titus, ate everything on his plate and clearly loved every bite! Thank you to everyone at Austin's Steak House for helping make my wife's birthday so memorable. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service!

Be prepared they almost always have a weight come dinner time. They told us about a 25 minute wait but it really only you landed up like maybe 10 minutes for two people and a baby. It's very busy inside. You'll have to step around people a lot, but I feel like that's common for a buffet. Food was constantly being brought out and was nice and hot. I absolutely love their chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, and their green beans the mac & cheese was extremely watery and not that great and we were super disappointed in the steaks. They just tasted like fake or kind of gamy. Wasn't a fan of that, but there was definitely plenty of food to choose from and desserts! Our server was super sweet and made sure to refill our drinks and take our dirty plates often Overall, I think the food was good, especially for the price and there's a ton of options. It is a bit loud because tables are very close together. But again that just has a lot to do with the fact that it is a buffet place. Overall, I would say that it's like a golden corral on steroids

Parking is tight. 2:30 Sunday afternoon and there is a line. It's dark. It's old. It's cramped. It's packed. Pay as you enter at some booth that looks like a fortune teller would be sitting in it. If the fortune teller was indeed there- they would say you are about to be forever changed. We paid- got seated- and headed to the buffet. Holy guacamole Batman. It's tight and crowded. They had prawns or maybe crawfish- missus loved them. They had shrimp. Fried fish looked rough. They had everything you can find in a Chinese food place. They had miles of noodles, piles of egg rolls and dumplings and spring rolls. They had ice cream and cookies and desserts. They had cakes and puddings and yes- a salad or three. If you got to a buffet and eat a salad- you got issues I can't fix. The final test: missus says she didn't see red jello. It isn't a real buffet without the red jello. I went looking. Yes- three kinds of jello. How did everything taste? Missus liked it all and really liked the potatoes ( why, just, why.) I thought the place was absolutely terrific. Old and a bit tired but the food was so very good. The service from our waits was good. She would say to people "I see you" and smile as she took the empty plates or refilled glasses. We paid $12.99 per person, plus $3 per person for drinks. With tip is was like $38 ish bucks. I can spend that at Freddy's or Burger King for two people. So- if ya haven't been there, try it. If ya have- you hopefully had the same great experience we did. Ive included a photo of the jello, just to prove how authentic Sakura is.

The family-style meal starts by choosing three entrées and four sides for the table. After finishing those, you're welcome to order more from the menu, but we were so full after the first round that we didn't need anything else. We chose the fried chicken, grilled chicken, and catfish, with mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and cornbread. Every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. That's even includes dessert ! Which was not advertised on the menu so it was a sweet surprise. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out hot and quickly. We have…read moredined at many high-end establishments, and The Appalachian does such a great job of delivering exceptional food and service without the pretentiousness that can sometimes come with it. Our chef for the evening, Derek, was a wealth of information. He could tell us where everything on our plates came from, from memory. The chefs at this restaurant are THAT attuned to the ingredients they're working with. He even described what made the wines work with the food and admitted he wasn't always a wine pairing believer, but has quickly become one. Our server, Amanda, was sweet, pleasant, and incredibly accommodating. This girl noticed me lifting my hair off my neck (those open woodfire grills add an extra level of heat to the kitchen) and brought me a hand fan FROM HER PURSE. That caused one of the kitchen team to notice and bring me an electric fan. Like I said, stellar service. Even the general manager, Dan, was involved in our service that evening. It truly felt like the entire team was paying attention and genuinely wanted us to have a wonderful experience. Would I recommend the restaurant? 100%. Would I recommend the Chef's Table experience? 1,000%. Being in the kitchen, watching the team operate like a well-oiled machine, and getting dishes that aren't on the menu (I'm looking at you, tuna tartare), made it well worth it. We will probably do it again in a different season to see how the menu changes. @serenity_now_travel_concierge

From ensuring they source fresh, seasonal ingredients to creating a welcoming atmosphere, it's obvious that everything is done with passion and attention to detail. We had the fried chicken skins, the à la carte ribeye and sirloin, mashed potatoes, broccolini, and summer squash, and then the cobbler for dessert. It took me a while to write this review because I was still trying to process just how disappointing the experience was for the whole family. Let's start with the positive: the staff was genuinely lovely--from the warm greeting at the door to our server and the buffet attendants. Everyone was kind and attentive, and they were doing their best. Now, the food. While the buffet was abundant, much of it was barely edible and did not taste freshly made. My teens--who love fried chicken--took one bite and declared it "unedible," which was my first red flag. They reverted to the kids' station, but the mac & cheese was mushy and unrecognizable, and everything else there had been steamed to within inches of its life. I tried to rally enthusiasm with the donut wall, but despite being coated in sugar, the donuts were oddly tasteless. Many items across the buffet were overly salted--yes, even the greens were sodium loaded . At the made-to-order station, I tried the stir-fry, which was unfortunately drowned in what tasted like bottled sauce. Our last hope was the crêpe station. I understand this is a high-volume restaurant, but the crêpes were clearly prepackaged, reheated to order, and filled with canned fruit. Once again: edible, but barely. We did manage to laugh together about how much we love Dolly Parton--and how shocking it was that food this bad carried her name. I can't speak to ordering off the regular menu, but I strongly recommend saving your hard-earned money and skipping this buffet altogether. Perhaps a freshly made omelet might have been better, but nothing here justified the $65 per person price tag. Aunt Grannies at the theme park is definitely better, but since it was a holiday we eventually went to Bucc- ees later to get better food .
