The hubby and I with two of our good friends stopped here for dinner. The food was delicious. Prices were high but it is a touristy town so it is expected. Service was excellent. If you've been before, you know how the food is, it's not a 5 star restaurant, but the senior deal from 1-3 for $10.99 is a deal. I'm big on salad and soup and filled up on those and added just a few veggie and a protein, that was enough for me. The staff are super nice, the buffet seemed clean ... but I wouldn't say the COVID guidelines are strictly enforced - I saw several diners not wearing masks and getting their food :( They still do the regular buffet where everything is self-serve (I had thought buffet restaurants were doing the cafeteria style where servers did the plating during COVID) -- the only thing different is everyone is given one plastic glove to use for the serving utensil to grab food .... which looked like everyone was adhering too. We opted to do the takeout option -- where we went to the buffet line to fill up our styrofoam containers and then got our containers weighed ... they charge $6.49/lb which seemed like a better deal than the to-go dinners plus you can get more variety. But of course nothing beats the value or enjoyment of in-person AYCE buffet - $10.49/person and $9.99/seniors for lunch. During lunch, meat options incl. fried chicken, pulled pork. pot roast, meatloaf, fish. My favorites - pulled pork, hush puppies, green beans, baked beans, sweet potato casserole, peach cobbler & pecan pie. Overall, food is pretty good. This is a fresh, well stocked and clean location. Its busy. The steaks are pretty good sized and the cook here knows just how to cook them. The salads are fresh a clean. The attendant does a great job at keeping the stations clean and fresh which is a plus for me. The waitress kept refilling our drinks and was really nice and courteous. The restrooms were clean. I was hesitant at first with it being a buffet but this place was very clean, the staff was very friendly and food was very good! My favorite was the salad because they have a lot of toppings to choose from and the ranch dressing is so good! They also had a Mexican station where you could make your own loaded nachos and even put on guacamole. Typical run of the mill precooked frozen items. Steak was way too done even when told medium. Not just once, but four times. Ice ream machine was broke for the chocolate side which meant only vanilla was available. It tasted like cleaner. Yuck! I only received one refill when I should have had about three or four considering all the ice they gave me. There was a good thing though, it's location. I ate Thanksgiving dinner here. I'm out of town so I was a little worried because I don't like the one where I live, but I am extremely glad we did decide to eat here. Our server was Jeronimo, he was absolutely fantastic. We sat down he asked if we needed any coffee or any extra sauces that was not in the table. Hands down we eat Golden Corral ALOT as it's our kids favorite restaurant and this was by far the best customer service from our server, the people preparing the food, and the manager which I think her name was Holly. My Mama and I decided to stop here for lunch today after running an errand. We had such high hopes and expectations. A friend had told me it was good and the parking lot was full. It was a major let down beyond measure. First off the lady where we paid was rude to my Mom when she paid with a debit card. Not a great way to off. The food. Oh the food. It was some of the most bland, dry, and truly inedible food ever. We tried to sample a variety of dishes from each buffet line. The next one was just as awful and terrible as the last one. The fried chicken was as dry as the Sahara desert. The fried okra was cold. The hush puppies were all hush with no onions or seasonings at all. The only meat available at the carving station was this sad end of a ham. After I finally got the guy to give me a slice, my joy was turned as cold as it was. The broccoli and cheese was ok. The Mac and cheese was fair, not great but sadly probably the best thing here. I got a salad cause I thought, that'll be good. I can build my own. No. The lettuce was all wilted. One of the tomato slices was rotted. There wasn't even any bacon bits. The dressings had been dribbled into each other and not changed, in fact the lady next to me done exactly that slinging ranch into French. It's pretty sad when even the salad sucks. The only reason I'd give them a star is the waiter, Jeronimo. He was very attentive, checked on us multiple times, and offered to bring us any sauces we may need. I am not a big person, in fact I'm less than 5 feet tall, so when I leave a restaurant and I could still eat, that's very, very sad. It shows you the food in that place sucks.
