The family-style meal starts by choosing three entrées and four sides for the table. After finishing those, you're welcome to order more from the menu, but we were so full after the first round that we didn't need anything else. We chose the fried chicken, grilled chicken, and catfish, with mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and cornbread. Every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. That's even includes dessert ! Which was not advertised on the menu so it was a sweet surprise. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out hot and quickly. This was such a cute spot inside Dollywood. The staff are dressed as "Grannies," which fits the theme perfectly and makes the whole restaurant feel fun and unique. The interior is designed to feel like you're eating in grandma's house, and the comfort food absolutely matches that cozy vibe. It's all-you-care-to-eat, so you can order multiple main dishes and sides--and there is so much food. We ordered all the courses that come with the basic family style meal and barely made a dent in them. Since we didn't order any additional items, we asked if we could take our food to go, and we were told no. I understand that many people would probably order excessive items due to the all-you-can-eat nature of the restaurant and then take them all home. But for customers like us who didn't do that, taking our leftovers to go should be an option. Additionally, possibly consider charging an additional price for additional courses? Food waste is awful! All the main course meat dishes were very tasty and tender and I absolutely loved the side of cabbage!! Our server was very cordial. Aunt Granny's is Dollywood's best and most popular restaurant. It is table service and while quite large inside can have long wait times. They don't take reservations but do have a wait list at the entrance and will text you when a table is ready. It is basically an all you can eat affair where your waitress brings the food you select to your table. You select up to 3 meats being offered and up to 4 side dishes for the table and then each person selects their dessert all from the menu. I chose fried chicken, pot roast and fried catfish with sides of mashed potatoes and brown gravy, corn pudding, green beans and salad. I thought all of this food was very good taste wise and was prepared in the "southern" way and that means it was delish. They also provide biscuits too. The dessert I chose was a chocolate pudding and crushed oreo's with whipped cream. Yes, it was good! The only negative was the table service was slow. Adult price for this meal that included everything including drinks is $27 so quantity and quality wise it's a good deal. This isn't typical theme park food. Delicious food is an unexpected surprise at an amusement park! This was an incredible experience. It's no wonder why there is typically a long wait. We were fortunate enough to gain immediate access on a low attendance day. The staff were all very friendly, prompt, and helpful. We throughly enjoyed the food, especially the cornbread pudding side, and asked for multiple refills of the dish. The pot roast was quite flavorful and so tender! The chicken had a little bit of a spice to it so I didn't eat that much, but it was still tender. The establishment was clean and spacious. Food came out promptly and all orders were delivered with accuracy. I would certainly recommend this place if you have an opportunity and see for yourself how it lives up to its reputation. On our stop around Dollywood, I discovered this location for lunch. Showed up the week after July 4th on a calm and cool 90-100 degree weather. The park wasn't as busy as I was expecting especially when compared to Disney. Not sure if it's due to week after a holiday and/or the hot weather. After a 30 min wait, we were seated. After waiting a good 45 minutes, we got a table and ordered the allotted amount of appetizers - we got the corn puddin' (yum), red bliss potatoes (great), honey glazed carrots (meh), and southern green beans (yum), along with entrees of fried chicken (good), sausage peppers and onions (eh - too much sausage), and pot roast (yum). This was the worst food I have ever eaten.We have been going to Dollywood when it was Silver Dollar City 40 yrs now. We ate 99% of the time at Granny's Kitchen. This time it was awful. We thought it was a buffet and waited an hour. It wasn't. We had our family. I will say up front the wait staff was good, but way overworked. All almost ran to do their job. Their now, "family style was so complicated we struggled to understand the game. We got biscuits, no butter. We were told they don't provide butter for bread. The food was next to scraps in quality. This has to be the worst food I have had. The chicken was all coating, no meat. Beef dry as powder. The plates we were given were so dirty you could rub your finger in the plate and leave a track. The food was awful except the biscuit but you could not get butter. The mac and cheese was so aldente it was chewy. We got the banana pudding for dessert. We were given a fork to use to eat pudding. We each had 1/4 slice of banana. It was so overpriced. We paid 300.00 dollars for our families meal the worst food of my life. We all felt like that. Have to wonder if this is the corporate cost cutting since this is own by corporations not locally. What a shame. I've eaten at Aunt Granny's over the years. With the Covid virus it has transitioned from a fabulous buffet to family style. Although all the food was delicious, it all arrived at our table at the same time. Because the restaurant was on the cooler side, all the food got cold very quickly. Twice we had to ask for food to be warmed and actually would have liked all the food warmer but the server was not accessible frequently. I must say that the dessert cobbler was especially delicious but was an abnormally small portion. One positive thing was that you no longer had to stand in line because of reduced capacity. I've heard through the years that the food here at Dollywood was delicious and I must say I wasn't lied to as this buffet was up there with some of the best food I've ever had at a theme park! Absolutely loved it. I had decided to spend a week in Pigeon Forge with me, myself & I, plus my dog, as a much needed vacation getaway following Easter 2022 weekend with my whole family. Not certain I would enjoy Dollywood by myself, I decided to chance it since I was in the area. Unfortunately, due to staffing shortages, nearly half to 75% of the food venues I saw were closed. There was a hot dog place, a funnel cake hit, a bbq sandwich stall, and Aunt Granny's open. I had wanted to try Aunt Granny's anyway, so I cautiously approached the line around 1:30 pm. It moved quickly and before I knew it, I was next. Seeing that it was family style at $24/person, I wondered if it was worth it or if they would have a table for one and expressed my concern. The hostess was more than kind and reassured me that they serve single thrill seekers often. She sat me at a lovely 4 top near a window and the waitress greeted me almost immediately. I ordered a sweet tea as beverages were included in the price. After glancing sample menus here on Yelp, it seems the menu changes slightly each day or occasionally as to choice of proteins, desserts, and veggies. I asked the server for her recommendations and went with it. 2 proteins, 4 veggies, and dessert. I relaxed and just took in the coziness of the restaurant while my meal was prepared. It was surprisingly "quiet" for a large restaurant with a lot of guests. Maybe everyone was just busy eating yummy food and not talking when I was there. The server brought 2 small cheddar biscuits that were yummy and light as air. I could have eaten 10 more. Luckily I didnt realize it was all you could eat, as I would have ruined my appetite. Next came my choices of fried chicken and beef pot roast. Being as I'm one person, I wondered how they would adjust the "family style" portions. 2 very large pieces of fried chicken came out, both breast meat. Along with a full bowl of pot roast. I LOVE pot roast and was going to be really sad if it was mediocre. But it was soooo delicious. The brown gravy and some veggies in it were amazing. The pot roast was so soft, and so much of it! I hate to admit, it was easily a serving for two and I ate it all. Yikes. Plus one piece of chicken which was very juicy with a yummy crispy breading. The veggies the server recommended were cabbage, green beans & ham, and then I chose corn pudding and carrots. The carrots were slightly sweet, so good. The cabbage was so yummy, if you like cabbage. Team Cabbage! And I ate all the green beans and corn pudding. Honestly, yikes. A single person. Ate almost everything except one chicken breast. And it wasnt because it was a small portion. Or that I'm a large girl, cuz I'm not. It was just that good. Mom always said I must have a hollow leg because she could never figure out how I could eat so much if I really liked something she made. I just really like homemade food, and this tasted like it was cooked by Granny herself. There was a family of 4, 2 adults & 2 kids, at a table in front of me. They left a decent amount of food, so not really sure how kids pricing works or if they offer kids options or portioning. And a couple behind me also left a decent amount of food, but seemed to have really liked it. So I dont think they skimp on the portioning here. I truly wonder who on Earth needs to ask for more food?? For dessert, the server offered key lime pie or chocolate chip cookie. I was SO FULL I asked for a cookie. She brought it on a plate and when I asked for a to go bag, she said they didnt have any, since it was an All You Can Eat place. Makes sense. No taking leftovers home. But still, I hate seeing food wasted. So I wrapped my cookie in a paper napkin and stuck it the front of my bag. A few water rides later, I discovered it soaked and tossed it. So dont know how it was. Having worked as a restaurant manager at Disney Animal Kingdom and Disneyland previously, I have had some overpriced, not delicious, over hyped theme park food.
