Located in The Social Corner on the corner of Homer and Smithe, this unique coffee roaster, coffee and gelato shop offers a very New York ambiance with cool art pieces.
You will be struck by the very high ceilings, super tall wall of branded coffee bags and espresso machines. There is a magnificent spiralling art piece decorated with coffee saucers and cups.
We visited early one Sunday morning, there was only a couple of patrons within a 45 minute period, we had a lot of options for seating. Seats are quite hard and wooden, we chose the soft leather banquette.
Pros: a variety of baked goods, some seemed fresh, others probably were a day or two old. Service staff was friendly and competent.
Cons: no condiment station to speak of, no cream - only option was 2% milk or soy/oat option. No stevia, cinnamon or cocoa sprinkles. Did not see napkins. You can't put your own milk/cream in your coffee, which I always think is strange.
Overall, the Americanos were good, solid flavour and decent crema. The coffee shop shares space with the bar / restaurant, looks interesting, curious how the food is over on that side.
It is worth a visit and overall the shop, tables and displays were very clean and well maintained. 3.5 out of 4. read more
