We had an absolute blast here! I'm so glad we stopped by while staying downtown. The drinks were fantastic, and our waiter, Collin gave us expert guidance on all of their wide variety of exotic drinks, even bringing us special samples of some of their syrups and off-menu delicacies! There are not many unique tiki lounges like Tarantula Tiki Lounge. Coming here makes you feel like you are walking into the sweetest but darkest side of the ocean as soon as you open the door to come in. With the air conditioning pumping (which is important for hot summer Texas nights) all of the hanging streamers move like octopus tentacles! I loved the ambiance here as we stumbled upon the tiki lounge while looking for one while we visited. The drinks here are super unique and flavorful! There is so much to look through and choose as you browse the menu. We went during Halloween and they had some October specials and offerings that included cute fun plastic witch fingers, pumpkin heads, and some cool skeleton/skull paddle board stirrers. It's always the little things like adding the detailed additions to colorful drinks that I appreciate. Staff was super nice and patient as we made our decisions on what to drink. It has been a couple of months since my visit and I still think about our evening here. It was such fun. We basically had a chance to hang out with our friends, drink fantastically fun and unique drinks, and have an interactive comedy show. Kollin was our waiter, and from the moment he walked up to our table until we said our goodbyes, he entertained us with jokes. We went after dinner on Magnolia. This place is very protective of its liquor license. They will not serve over capacity and you must bring your ID because they will card you no matter how old you are. You could be in a walker and they're gonna card you . But once you get past that this place is a lot of fun. The drinks are amazing. They have their own signature, cocktails, and traditional tiki favorites. Theres even a little bit of entertainment when somebody brings out a drink thats it's on fire and they sing a song about it. The ambiance, drinks and overall customer service of this establishment is unmatched. Just to be clear it's unmatched in how poor they care about you. I ordered the drink that was recommended by the waitress the "zombie" which tasted like manure in a cup. Additionally be careful if you do decide to go here. To put it simply, I do not think there is another place quite like Tarantula in Fort Worth. When I first heard of it opening, right during Covid in 2020, I was worried that just like many new businesses the timing might do it in. Here, two years later, Tarantula still stands as the only legit Tiki Bar in Fort Worth. The people behind Tarantula really are dedicated to their craft as this isn't a half-assed Tiki Bar that hawks over-sweetened, over-priced drinks to tourists. This placed dishes out some amazing (and strong) cocktails as should be the expectation of any true Tiki Bar. The question is, what to order? They have plenty of great concoctions on their menu and this is quite the conundrum as I cannot in good conscience recommend you try them all in one sitting. Again, since these are real tiki drinks its best to sample one or two and work down the menu with frequent visits. I'm currently working on the classics and have tried and enjoyed, The Zombie, The Mai Tai, and the Planter's Punch and I plan to dive into a few of their own Originals on the next round. Their great, true Tiki drinks coupled with the fun atmosphere and tiki decor, really make this a place to start or end your night. One of my favorite aspects of the up and coming Southside area is the on-foot proximity of so many bars and restaurants. We had a friend from Cairo in town and started at Tinie's, moved down to Southside Cellar, on to the Amber Room (which was uncomfortably busy) and finished at the Tarantula, which is ironically right next to Tinie's. So, it was after midnight by the time we filled a booth in this Polynesian-themed bar. I'm doing Keto so had a boring Tequila and Diet Coke. My +1 tried the Screaming Skull, which was less spicy than she hoped for, but very strong. Others in our group had positive things to say about the drinks. Shout out to our server Morgan who took good care of us. Some other reviews have mentioned rude service, being told not to be too loud and weak drinks. We experienced none of this, rather the opposite. We were as loud a group as I've ever been a part of. But, so was the house music. So, all good. Fun place and good memories! I wish I could leave a better review as I was pretty excited to try it out! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. We decided to leave the area we were at ( where we were having a great time) since we had been recommended this place. As soon as we got there there was no eye contact from servers.
