Great service and good music, the food was amazing would 100 percent recommend the whole family like everything they ordered

Very tasty. I had the soupa with short ribs. My partner had shrimp tostadas. Margaritas were large and very good.

This is a new restaurant in Frisco as of Summer 2022. This is the same owner as Oaxacan Bites (food truck) in Breckenridge. They have expanded their menu for this restaurant and it is fantastic! We have already been several times. It is Oaxacan food. If you have never had Oaxacan food, go try it right now. Do not be intimidated, it is all delicious! We have tried the Chips con Mole (hand made chips topped with their flavorful mole and queso fresco), the Asada plate, Enfrijoladas (delicious corn tortillas smothered in beans and topped with your choice of meat), Tlayuda (large thin tortilla topped with beans, cheese, cabbage, tomato, avocado, cesina (pork) AND tasajo (steak)), and their quesadilla. The quesadilla is delicious and Oaxacan cheese cannot be beat! Their salsas (sauces) are robust, fresh, and one has a really nice spice level. Tonight, we also had their chocolate de leche (hot chocolate made in-house) and it was so creamy and delicious! They are new and keep trying new things so their menu might change a little over time. The owner is there every time we have been in. They are so incredibly nice and friendly. They don't have all their sites and socials up yet but they are on Instagram @ cielo_oaxaca and have been posting lots of delicious food! Go check this place out! read more

I had 4 delicious tacos at Cielo. I can't understand why anyone would go to the Taco Bell next door when you can get excellent authentic Mexican cuisine. If you staying or passing by Frisco, CO treat yourself to delicious authentic Mexican food prepared by locals. Support your independent restaurants rather than bad chain food. BEWARE: Gratuity is automatically added to your total regardless of party size and you are not informed of this at any point. It isn't listed on the menu and staff never mentions it. When you are finished eating you are handed a portable checkout device with ONLY the total displayed. You are not given an itemized bill to pay - just an amount. The total for two entrees, one appetizer and a soda was a bit more than I was expecting but I couldn't remember what every item cost so we added a tip and paid. After you pay it prints out an itemized receipt. On the way home I noticed that there was an 18% gratuity added to our total. This wasn't mentioned to us by staff or noted on the menu anywhere. It is a blatant way of scamming money out of unsuspecting diners. I'm not sure this is legal but it sure shouldn't be. Absolutely disgusting behavior. It is a shame because the food was good and we were looking forward to coming back but unless the owner addresses this issue we will never return and make sure others are aware of this scam. read more

We showed up around 10 for brunch before a half day of skiing and were greeted immediately by the lovely waitresses. I ordered the chilaquiles and my husband had 3 of the street tacos with side of rice. Accompanied by a margarita and Paloma. The food was amazing and service was wonderful! Just ate some great Mexican food, I had the street tacos with nice authentic flavors vs the Taco Bell right next door, ironic location for that I would say. The Barbacoa Soup looked excellent and from what my friends reported it was. They also have mole on the menu, we just had it on our chips, I'm sure the chicken mole would be delicious. This place is the mom and pop of Mexican so I suggest you try it out. read more

We went to Cielo Oaxaca for my husband's birthday and we so happy and impressed! We have spent time in Oaxaca (state and city); Cielo Oaxaca was authentic and transported us back to this magical place. My daughter and I are both vegetarian; she had enchiladas with mole and quesillo; I had the veggie burrito which comes (authentically) with fries. My husband had chicken mole. The Margaritas are generous and tasty, but you also get mezcal shots. There is an extensive menu with many opportunites for vegetarian dishes. They also have chapulines (roasted grasshoppers, a Oaxacan specialty). I asked if they were available and the were, but we decided to pass on them this time. The staff is supremely friendly and the atmosphere is bright, warm, and welcoming. Next time, I will get something with mole (it is delicious) and ask if they can make a Margarita with mezcal or get a mezcal shot. Cielo Oaxaca is an excellent and distinctive addition to our extensive list of Mexican restaurants. We live in Leadville and will make it a regular destination. read more

I love good Oaxacan food and will jump at the chance to eat mole over anything so I was really excited to see Cielo Oaxaca on my drive into Frisco! I made a mental note to revisit after a big hike. The menu has classic Oaxacan food - think tlayudas, mole enchiladas. I was pretty hungry so I went for the mole enchiladas, half chicken half cheese, and tortilla chips with mole and Oaxacan cheese. For $25 it was a mountain of food and I got 2 meals out of it! The food was fantastic and the mole was sooooo good, spicy, hint of chocolate, so rich and flavorful! My only note is that the chicken in the enchiladas was pretty dry, but I just covered it up with mole and went about my day. Highly recommend Cielo Oaxaca! read more

Marginal food and service. We were excited to come here based on the reviews. We won't come back. Nothing exciting. Beef was seen near the back by the door placed on a cooler with blood coming down the cooler. There was a bunch of beef and didn't seem like a safe way to handle. Also several things ordered were not great. We ordered refried beans as a side. What came out was what appeared to be black bean liquid. No beans at all. After reading all the hype about how great this Mexican restaurant was, we had to try it. Turns out, it was simply ok. My wife and I had the street tacos and they were somewhat dry overall. Also, the side sauces were very runny. Service was very good but one additional complains the overbearing smell of grease as their oil obviously needed to be changed out. read more

Legit Mexican food and Oaxacan mole in a little mountain town. Staying in Frisco for the week to snowboard and we wanted something that wasn't brewery/pub food/burgers. Got the mole enchiladas with chicken and the molcajete. It was BOMB. The mole is so flavorful and complex. Everything in the molcajete was seasoned perfectly. Their salsas that come with it are so good. The rice and beans!!! The rice and beans!!! I could eat five plates of this. So good. The folks who run this place are super nice. read more

Note that they do include gratuity in the check in a small line item(as I didn't find out til I checked my emailed receipt ;p). Lots of Mexican restaurants in Summit County serve typical lackluster fare - fajitas and cheese-heavy burritos and enchiladas. Cielo Oaxaca sets a higher standard for flavors and authenticity. We've been there twice now and were very happy both times with every meal. The mole is fantastic - a little spicy and not too sweet. Carne asada and tacos are first rate. They charged me more than what the menu prices were and when I asked them to change the totals to reflect the menu prices they just said no they would not do it.
