You definitely get bang for you buck! We went during happy hour and got two margaritas for $12! Also you get a lot of chips with the dip trip, great experience and good service. Seemed a little dead but definitely because it is lunch service during the off season :)

When this restaurant was suggested, the first thing I did was to look up this restaurant at Yelp. Just ONE photo and seven reviews... my heart sank. When I voiced my concern, I was met with a gentle suggestion to look at the menu and although very small number of people have reviewed this restaurant, the ratings were good on Yelp!! This place blew us away with all the amazing food start to finish! I was ashamed of being prejudiced about very small amounts of Yelp reviews. We all have to start somewhere. And, I can contribute to change that little by little. So glad that we tried this restaurant! The grilled salad was like veggie fajita although more mildly flavored with fajita spices, the beef appetizer was well done with a bit acidic taste which we found refreshing. Corn and bone marrow dish was raved by who can eat the marrow but we the less adventurous palated appreciated the corn immensely :P The octopus was delicious and tender but they do serve the whole octopus! Yes, I counted the legs and they were all there!!! I would recommend sharing the octopus dish:) The star dish was chicken mole with the half of chicken cooked to perfection in a fantastic mole sauce! The beef taco was very good as well! Definitely five stars

The BEST Mexican in the valley and we've been eating in the Vail area for over 20 years. We've been there now twice. The cocktails are fantastic and perfectly balanced. The food is fabulous and the service is great. Probably one of the prettiest Mexican restaurants (very classy). We would go to it on a regular basis if they had a restaurant in our home town of Denver.

Fish was poor quality, fajitas were very oily, and rice underwhelming. Guac was good. Service was good.

Good food and drinks. A little bit more upscale food and not your typical platted Mexican food.

Visiting Vail for a quick getaway a few weekends ago made me realize (again) that this mountain…read moretown renowned for exhilarating outdoor activities is a foodie destination with so many options to choose from Michelin-recognized restaurants to something more casual. And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient; even though we stayed for quite a while to catch up, we felt welcomed and well-attended to the entire night. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back!

The gondola is cool because we had our own speak to play whatever we pleased! It felt very private and intimate which I really enjoyed. I loved the decor throughout the restaurant and our gondola had cute little touches as well. For example they had a coo coo clock that when off every hour. For drinks I tried their feuerzangenbowle and the muled wine. My husband got a Hugo spritz and jagertee. I loved my drinks the feuerzangenbowle uses flambé which was so cool!, it's pretty similar to the muled wine. Muled wine is always a favorite of mine when the weather gets cold! Our server was awesome and super attentive. He answered any questions we had and was very friendly. The gondolas have a set menu we ended up ordering more that was on the set menu since I wanted fondue and my husband wanted the raclette. We added on a fondue, ordered the raclette that came on our fixed menu and added on steak, along with the pretzel that comes as an appetizer. The food was really good, I think it is also just so cozy and suiting for the cold weather! Fondue and raclette are also just such a fun way to dine! Highly recommend and definitely will be back just to try the standard experience too without the gondola.
