I walked in to order to go and the staff super friendly and very helpful. I love the menu here, everything looks so good! And there are a ton of options with different flavors. I tried the Garlic edamame, which this had the least flavor, it was good but needed a bit more garlic. Also ordered the pad Thai which was good and the macaroni salad which was amazing. The macaroni is a mayo based type dish, I love the different flavor than your typical American style macaroni salad. Their lunch menu is the best in town! The food is awesome! We have gone many times and it's consistently good rice, great hot and sour soup, dishes are steaming when they hit the table with fresh ingredients. The waiters obviously care and are kind, my water glass never goes empty. The Buddhist delight had fresh crisp vegetables in a delicious sauce. They even offer tofu dishes on their menu! They have a great lettuce wrap appetizer which makes for a filling lunch too. The lunch prices bring this top tier restaurant to an easy lunch option. Wow, another great restaurant in the CP. These strip malls off Bell Blvd are harboring some really good eateries. We stopped in for lunch and decided on a 105-degree day that we needed some spicy food. Cilantro bills itself as a Hawaiian - Thai restaurant and there are some really interesting Hawaiian options. We opted for Thai. My chicken yellow curry special was absolutely fabulous. I was offered a heat range of 1-10. I opted for a 5 with additional heat on the side. The level 5 heat was medium but I was able to kick it up a bit. This dish was large and I could not finish it. Plus one ordered the salmon bowl. I did not have a chance to try it as it was wolfed down in record time. The salmon portion was more than adequate and it was reported that it was delicious. This was confirmed as only the garnish remained in her bowl. As other reviewers noted there are about 15 tables in an open seating area. Loved the food the first time and went back for seconds. Quickly regretted that decision when my food came drowning in liquid that made it inedible. Not gravy. Not broth. Just a starchy watery liquid (see pic). The macaroni salad was also off. Could've been the bath it was in. All of the garlic shrimp flavor was on the outside shell that was peeled off. The pork was juicy and a little bit sweet. my partner got the yellow curry, which was also well cooked. Overall, I think this is a solid spot for Thai and Hawaiian food but I expected some more Hawaiian dishes and felt the prices were a bit expensive for what they were. Never mind the fact their Thai food is great. I had a wonderful green beef curry. (The curry was green, not the beef.) My wife had an outstanding Thai salmon. But that is not why you are here. Repeat after me ... Kalua Pork Kalua Pork Kalua Pork. No, this is not pork with coffee liqueur dumped on top. This is pork barbecued in the Hawaiian style practiced in Kalua. Once you have had Kalua BBQ pork, You will never be able to eat North Carolina pork the same way. North Carolina pork will always seem to be lacking somehow. Kalua pork is the real deal, the Big Kahuna, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. You can either buy a plane ticket to Hawaii or you can drive to Cedar Park. The surfing is better in Hawaii. Yeah! Never thought I would find a "Hawaiian restaurant " anywhere near Austin! Now, I am soo happy to find this place, not only for Hawaiian food, but Thai as well! My husband and I went last weekend, and only just found it on Yelp shortly before. If haven't mapped it, you would not know it was here! It is in Cedar Park, but not facing the major street of Whitestone (*a.k.a. as 1431). You have to turn down Bell Blvd, and next to a Papa John's. Plenty of parking, and restaurant is just one open space with like 15 tables. Washed hands before eating, and want their sink basin in restroom....so beautiful! But, now, for the food. It is over 100 degrees outside, so, for now, we did not order curry or the soups. Menu is divided..."Hawaiian " side or "Thai " side. As soon as I saw all the Hawaiian side, I just focused on that. Everything on it I wanted..so missed macaroni salad..with some kind of meat. I was deciding between Khalula pork or BBQ ribs. I went with ribs, as most know, they are not "American " style..more like a pork chop..more meat, flat, with a little bone, you work cutting around. This was not the best I have had, as a lot of fat on it. Next time, will try the pork. But, the flavor was good, and LOVED the macaroni salad and sticky rice. My husband had the chicken breast teriyaki bowl with vegetables and rice. He had to ask for some chili sauce, and was good. We shared, my favorite, SPAM MASUBI! OMG..sood good! From the make I thought this was mexican but it's Hawaiian and thai and they did not disappoint. We started with apps. We got the dumplings and eggrolls. Then we got our dishes and they did not disappoint . I got the Tom kha soup with chicken and the Hawaiian macaroni salad. Sounds weird But I never pass up chance to get macaroni salad. Hubs got the grilled short ribs. We got the garlic shrimp and rice. Kids devoured the kids plate of chicken and rice. From the moment we walked in, the service was disappointing. We were not greeted with a smile, and it took far too long for anyone to even take our order. When the food finally came, the appetizers and main entrees were brought together, which completely defeated the purpose of ordering starters. To make things worse, the main dishes were served cold. When I politely mentioned that the food was not hot, the server became very rude and argumentative. While trying to clarify about the two cold orders, her tone turned aggressive, and I had to ask her not to get angry since we were only stating facts, not trying to be difficult customers. This kind of unprofessional behavior is completely unacceptable. The food itself was just average, which makes the very high prices even harder to justify. There are many other great thai restaurants in the area that not only serve better tasty food but also treat customers with kindness and respect, something this place severely lacks. Since I absolutely love Lemongrass since they opened in Cedar Park, I figured I would try there a little sister, cilantro Grill. I tried a couple of times until I found the right time that they were open. This means on the weekend they open later not at 11 o'clock. There was one other table eating when I arrived. I walk straight up to the counter. I decided to try one of the Hawaiian dishes of fried shrimp. Besides the shrimp it comes with a scoop of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. It's been quite some time since I had macaroni salad, so I was looking forward to it. In about 10 minutes, my food was ready and I took the bag and left. I was home in a short period of time grab my fork and dug in. First, the macaroni salad I put the fork full in my mouth and started chewing. It didn't take me long to figure out it was pretty much just mayo flavor. I don't think they even use salt and pepper. It was pretty bland. So I figure let me try some rice which I know is going to be bland. And yes it was. Again, no seasoning in it whatsoever just rice. Then came the shrimp, the shrimp still had the shell on it, so I had to peel it off, and my hands got all butter all over them. But once I took a bite, I was in heaven. The garlicky goodness was absolutely amazing. I spent spent the time dish shelling all the shrimp at the same time so that way my hands were messy only one time. Wash my hands and then started eating the shrimp. One thing I noticed, which was a benefit is all of that garlic butter went into the raw cabbage , that was underneath the shrimp. And when I took a bite of that it was delicious. I was planning on coming back to get some of the yellow curry but I haven't made it yet. The prices are a bit high for what you get. And having the rice and the macaroni salad being so bland I definitely won't try any more Hawaiian options. read more

Came across this newly opened restaurant when looking for something at 8pm on Friday night without a long line. I had driven by it numerous times when it was under construction and had a great experience at its other locations (Lemongrass by Cypress Creek and original Sip Saam Thai by McNeil). I went with my family with hyped anticipation. The surrounding area was gloomy at night with Kim Phung, Papa Johns, etc. not really doing very well until getting to Whitestone or Park. Despite that, maybe it's grand opening as well, the restaurant was still packed with customers looking from outside. Parking was limited but at that hour you may park over a little bit. The inside was bright and lively with multiple televisions playing BFRS on YouTube, one of my favorites. It took a little bit of time to get my family seated as it was quite busy with guests dining in and getting takeout. We ordered an iced Thai tea (seen photos that it's served in a glass mug that's large), a drunken noodle dish with chicken, and a basil fried rice dish with beef, both not spicy to accommodate the kid. The food came pretty quickly (drink came last). They looked good but portion was small in my opinion for this price. The flat rice noodles were little thick and hard, not looking like the kind we normally get for this type of dish, like the pad see ew, and the wok fry seemed lacking. The taste was fine though. The fried rice, same story, seems lacking wok fry and it was very peppery and overdone with seasonings. I am not a huge fan with big chunks of half-cooked tomatoes in my stir-fry also. Otherwise, it was okay. It was getting close to their closing time that some of the staff started cleaning up. I don't have a problem with that but a kind advice would be not to sweep close to the guest's table. It can stir up dust in the air and my chair was hit by a broomstick. A little dissatisfied there. I've been looking forward to the opening of this restaurant. I love all of their takes on cuisine... Sip Saam Thai, Lemongrass and now Cilantro Grill which is Thai and Hawaiian. I was a tad disappointed to find out that mostly all of the dishes I wanted to try have soy sauce. The entree I chose, Garlic Shrimp, apparently only has a small amount so I took a chance on it. I put them to the test and ordered to go. If a meal is still good after you carry it out, then it's probably even better dining in. I ordered the Garlic Shrimp, French fries and kimchi. Everything was packaged well to go. It was about 2:30 in the afternoon and I hadn't eaten all day. So I tore into the French fries on the drive home. Nothing special about the fries, just your everyday run of the mill skinny fries. However, they were hot and crispy and salted just right. They hit the spot. I could hardly wait to get home so I could taste the shrimp. To my surprise they were shell on! Noooo, I was not anticipating having to work for my food, especially being as hungry as I was! But the shell on took me back to childhood when we'd go out and have the authentic Polynesian experience. My favorite was always the shell on shrimp. It was always worth it to get to the deliciousness underneath the shell and that's exactly how it felt eating those Garlic Butter Shrimp. I didn't get the macaroni salad and opted for double rice instead. Yum is all I kept saying as I licked my fingers, lol. Believe or not, I've never had kimchi before, so I didn't know what to expect. It wasn't bad but the spices didn't really meld together well for my tastebuds. Overall Cilantro Grill stands up to the standard of excellence just like at their other two locations. Came here on Valentine's Day and we got great attentive service, the waiter was cheery and quick. They had cute vases with roses at each table. Hot sake was delicious as usual. I haven't had Thai in a minute, the pad Thai was delicious, 6/10 on the spicyness level for me was tolerable. Anything else would have been too much. We have done a takeout at this place before but decided to do a dine in this time . Went in on a Thursday night and the place had plenty of chairs . We ordered the chicken satay and drunken noodles with tofu . The chicken was a bit overcooked although the sauces made it taste better . The drunken noodles were dry and a bit flavorless compared to what we have had in sipsaam Thai . The takeout fried rices have been great but the noodles were not that flavorful which was a bit disappointing . But the ambiance and service made up for it and they were great and attentive . The pinto noir was amazing and smooth. Food arrived on time . In spite of the mediocre food, the four stars is for the star of the night - the mango sticky rice ! One of the best we have had. We would probably stick to ordering the fried rice and other dishes compared to noodles, or could be an off night for them . I just moved around the corner from Cilantro Grill and am so excited! Sip Saam is my favorite Thai restaurant in Austin so having their sister restaurant so close is a dream come true. All that said, this was the first restaurant I visited after moving. I love both Thai and Hawaiian food and was pleased to see that it wasn't fusion dishes but rather a fusion menu- one side Thai and one side Hawaiian. We ordered the eggrolls and dumplings to start- both fantastic! For our entrees we had the ribeye salad which was bursting with bright Thai flavors and spice; the Pad-Se-Ew, which was adorned with a generous amount of broccoli and the perfect spice level (5); and the chicken fried rice for my two year old nephew who was VERY impressed. I also took an order of spam musubi to go and that was the perfect little pick me up snack later. Not to be ignored was the the extremely kind and attentive service and cleanliness of the establishment. Well done! I look forward to trying their sparerib, Kahlua Pork, and crepe cake! My wife mentioned this place was now open and really wanted to try it, so we went for dinner. The servers worked very hard to keep everything running smoothly, but there were only two of them. Even with that, the food came out quickly and they always came to the table with a smile. I had the egg rolls and shrimp/chicken pad thai. My son had the fried dumplings and spam musubi. My wife had the garlic butter shrimp. The egg rolls were great. Crispy and not greasy at all. The pad thai was good but a bit too sweet for my taste. Where do I start? The place is neat and clean, it's very spacious. The staff are all courteous and pleasant, we didn't have to wait long for the food. This is the new restaurant by Sip Saam Thai, who also run the well-established nearby restaurant, Lemongrass. Although I was only introduced to it a week or so ago, Lemongrass has apparently been open a few years, and unlike most places, their standards have not slipped in all that time, which bodes well for this new restaurant. I like spicy food, my wife loves Hawaiian, so this fusion restaurant sounded like it might be the sweet spot for us both. But would it pass the taste test? FOOD: I tried the "Duck Curry", which seems basically the same as Lemongrass' (which is to say, REMARKABLY good: it's what I had when I was introduced to Lemongrass, and it's rich and creamy and well-balanced, and caught me off-guard with how much I liked it). There's a generous amount of meat, and maybe a little more pineapple than Lemongrass' version, which fits with the more Hawaiian theme. One of their pricier menu items, but absolutely worth it: treat yourself! There's a good portion size, maybe two or three meals' worth, so it's well worth the money... at least if you manage not to succumb to the guilty temptation to just eat all of it because it's so darn tasty. My wife had the "BBQ Chicken". The sauce the chicken is grilled in is delicious, in kinda sweet Hawaiian BBQ/teriaki, and the slice of grilled pineapple was perfectly browned. My wife has a number of food intolerances, and of their three restaurants, Cilantro has by far the larger number of menu items that she can try. We also had the "Cream Cheese Wontons". The wontons are unusually good. I have come to expect disappointment from wontons, as all too often, they are too dry, thick and crunchy at the "ruffles", jagged shards cutting at the mouth, while being soggy around the minimal filling. In contrast, Cilantro's were an exception: light pastry that was the perfect kind of crispy all over, with an appropriate amount of filling. SERVICE: Like many restaurants, they use a third party service (sappclub) for online orders. I feel this trend improves security, as securing online transactions is not typically a "core skill" of most restaurateurs! It can also make things convenient for people ordering from multiple restaurants in the same system, as they'll all recognize registered users as a customer. But I strongly appreciate that their choice of provider (sappclub) doesn't REQUIRE you to register, and instead defaults to smoothly checking you out as a "guest". Personally, I registered, and was pleasantly surprised to find that gave me a one-time code for $5 off at checkout. I had asked in the "special requests" field if they could put the chili on the side, and as soon as I stepped through the door, I was asked "Mr Morgan? I read your request, I just want to make sure I did it correctly, I can make it again for you if I misunderstood..." (but of course, he'd done it perfectly, despite my unclear phrasing!). Given he guessed my name as soon as I walked in, at the tail end of a Friday lunchtime no less, I think it's likely far less busy than Lemongrass due to being newer and less well-known, so at least for now, this may be a good choice for those who want to eat out, while still maintaining some measure social distancing: that's simply no longer possible in the very-popular Lemongrass. DOWNSIDES: Can't think of any significant ones, but no review is complete without them, so here's my best shot... I guess I was mildly disappointed that they didn't have the Chicken Satay of Lemongrass, but I admit it'd be unreasonable for me to expect them to have ALL of Lemongrass' menu AND the extra Hawaiian items as well! With chicken prices being crazy at the moment, they're probably smart not to add this to their menu, at least for now. Also, while this isn't a security problem, unlike the simsaamthai and lemongrass1320 websites, the cilantrogrill325 site doesn't (yet?) have a HTTPS certificate, which may concern users who're unsure about why their browser is complaining, or who (like me!) have Very Strong Opinions about these things. But even I have to admit it's not a serious problem in this case, since the whole online ordering process goes through sappclub, which definitely IS protected by HTTPS, so all payment details are safely encrypted. Like I said above, third party payment providers are just better at this stuff! And for those who really like social distancing, it's a shame there is no outside seating. But at least there's takeout, and it looks like there might even be drive-through collection, though the drive-through lane may just be a holdover from this building's previous occupants (I think it was El Pollo Rico, and Mo's Best Eatery). I didn't try to see if the drive-through was a thing. OVERALL: A firm five stars for a first visit. I'll probably make this my go-to for at least the next few alternate weekends (the ones where I get to choose where we eat!), so that I can work my way through their menu. And I don't think my wife will mind that at all! :D read more

I had the Kalua pork which tasted just like I had it in Hawaii - delicious! It was on a bed of cabbage. The macaroni salad & rice were good too. Very attractive and comfortable restaurant. I love that it's all tables and no booths. The food was extremely delicious. It is NOT Thai/Hawaiian fusion. It is simply a split menu. You can get a mixed plate with Mac salad or your can get Yellow Curry or Moco Loco or Thom Kha soup. I was surprised not to see Pineapple Fried Rice on the menu all things considered. I live in Cedar Park and have been waiting for this place to open for a while. To my surprise it was both a Hawaiian & Thai menu! It did not disappoint.
