Stopped by cilantro noodle today. We were acknowledged as soon as we walked in and asked if we preferred to be seated at a high table or low, I liked that we were presented with the option. The restaurant was suspiciously empty for a Saturday afternoon, besides us there was another family dining in. But, I did notice they were pushing out a ton of to go orders, so that's a good sign. Our servers were so polite, and offered insight on some of the popular items on the menu. We had the chicken pot stickers and they were good. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet, which was absolutely delicious! The broth was prefect, you usually have to doctor pho up to get it to taste right, but that was not needed with this pho. I have to say this is the best pho I've had to date!!! The broth was simple yet flavorful, the vegetables were fresh, and the meat was tender. Everything was delightful. Service was great, the food was fresh and delicious. We agreed that we would definitely come back. What a great hidden gem. read more

*UPDATE: 3/18/26-Visited this place again for lunch and realized they changed their name and concept of this restaurant. Now once you arrive, you sit down and they take your order as opposed to ordering yourself at a kiosk like before. They did add some things to their menu but unfortunately got rid of a lot of things, including our favorite bowls which is why we went there a lot. They added calamari which we love but unfortunately these were not the best. No flavor. Vietnamese coffee was strong and sweet. They got rid of their rice bowls and anything "created your own" the noodles bowls only come with cucumbers, sprouts, lettuce, noodles and protein of you want. Before you fould customize it and add a plethora of things to it which we loved and was very filling (refrence my older pics posted). Unfortunately the noodle bowl was just lacking with the minimal ingredients offered and it was not very flavorful at all. I didn't feel great 24hrs after eating here, so removed a few stars :( Their self-order kiosks made ordering a very fast and easy process to grab a quick dinner before hitting up a show down the street a few minutes later. I loved getting to specify in it exactly what I wanted in my fresh rolls (veggies, condiments, meat/vege options). I do wish basil had been an option. I chose the grilled pork which was a bit more char-tasting than I preferred and had quite a bit of fat still attached. Ever been to an airport and you had to eat, because you were stuck there, and had only those airport options? Generally okay to do, but not recommended for happiness... The food is usually overpriced and mid or below food quality...yep! You know it, airport food. Welcome to Cilantro in Plaza Midwood. The portions are small, over priced, and the food is subpar. We ordered pho and fried rice. The pho we received had only 4 or 5 pieces of eye of round, which was probably less than an oz. It included a child's fistful of noodles with a kids serving of broth. All for close to $20. The place is called Cilantro, but the pho had neither cilantro, nor onions. We request extra tai, and it was around $4. (I counted six pieces of eye of round, which was probably about an oz). The fried rice was utterly awful. It basically tasted stale and unseasoned, almost like it was fried 3 hours before, then reheated with a butter/oil and soy sauce mixture drizzled on top. Ick. The pho broth was good and the ONLY reason this is not 1 star. TLDR: People of Plaza, don't waste your time here. Tourists and visitors, eat at the airport first. Oh where to start. On a road trip to Charlotte, 4 of us thought we would try this out. I kind of wish we didn't. My sister in law ordered Pho. The first bowl she was brought had hair in it. She complained and was brought a new bowl. The pho broth was weirdly strong and concentrated tasting. Way too strong. It was overwhelming and not very appetizing. I got the build your own fried rice bowl. It was room temperature and had no seasoning whatsoever. It looked so good (see in the picture), but it tasted like nothing. No flavor at all. My son got some rolls. I believe he got the garlic ones. This were actually decent. My niece also got a bowl. It was also room temperature and tasteless. The place was not the cleanest. We went after lunch time, and it seems they didn't really clean up after the lunch rush. Many tables were dirty with food spilled on it. It was also a little bit frustrating because we had to ask for many things that we shouldn't have. We weren't brought our drinks so had to ask long after we had our food. We weren't given a soup for the pho. Overall it just wasn't a great experience for food that tasted terrible. I would not recommend. read more

I went with friends and we played Jenga. It was a fun place to hang out. The parking lot is small and stressful. So be prepared for that. Cilantro Noodle is a hit or miss. Sometimes great, sometimes not. I like getting the summer rolls, but they are always a different size, never rolled tightly and almost always fall apart. I like them because they taste fresh with a lot of ingredients to choose from, but last time it was literally all lettuce. And huge! A huge lettuce ball. I was disappointed. Also nothing like a huge, loose summer roll falling apart on your plate. I think they should take more time to get presentation right, even if it is a to go order or a somewhat "fast food" place. I also don't love their peanut sauce, too watery. The bahn mi has a good flavor and the bread is crispy. I also get the tofu, which I love. Again, with this, they don't take time to chop their veggies. I hate pulling a long string of cilantro still all attached to the stem out of my mouth. I think the employees are always in a hurry here and just don't really care. When I've been in to get my to-go orders, they aren't friendly and seem busy just talking amongst themselves anyway. The vegetarian pho broth is delicious. The flavor is really good. I ordered the bahn mi and broth combo and it was a surprise how good it was. Sent my girlfriend in to pick up my short rib pho. I was craving some large bones. We LOVED the short rib pho and would get it all the time and hadn't during our summer away. To our disappointment, the $23 bow of pho was tiny and instead of two large short ribs that it once came with, it was 2 tiny diced ribs. The place, since the meat was changed, also changed their photo to the large ribs on doordash. I remember both of us wondering how big it would be and being thrilled to see the large bones. The size of these new ribs were 1 inch thick, and about 2inches by 2 inches. 80%bone, 10% fat/connecting tissues, 10% meat. We were so disappointed and got hungry an hour later so we went to Taco Bell which provided more filling and needed protein in a single $2 taco than our bowls of pho combined. I say go to Taco Bell to be full, and if you want to eat a decorative dish that doesn't fill you up and is mostly onion and sprouts (not even a full handful of noodles). Please let customers know if food runs out next time instead of chopping up the last bowl of pho and splitting it in 3-5 bowls and adding broth and veggies. We wouldn't have left a review but we called 4 times during business hours but there was no answer. read more
