This was my second time here but it has been at least a couple years. The portion size remains the same and is a reason to return. I can definitely make two meals out of two rolls! I don't recall this from last time but there is now kiosk ordering which I used this time. From what I could tell each roll had to have the same ingredients when ordering this way which I did not love. Then it said to take a receipt to the register as the card option for paying was not working. However, then the receipt did not print. Luckily the order went through and I could verbally say what I ordered. Parking is stressful when there is an event. I don't recall this on a regular day last time. The soup is flavorful and the meat is tender. I love bones too so if I wasn't in public, I would be chewing on the bones haha.. I love the quick ordering at the tablets and the fast casual feel. Parking can be a little tricky since the parking lot is small and is shared with the other shops. It is also conveniently attached to Ocha Time Tea & Creamery so if you're craving some dessert afterwards, they got you! Tried their delivery tonight and I haven't been this impressed with a restaurant in so long. I honestly can't remember tasting flavor like this. There are so many options for toppings and meat choices. I tried the lemongrass pork and it was amazing. I don't even like pork that much but I can't get enough. I also added cilantro, pineapple, peanuts and mango. All of these choices packed on the flavor on top of fried rice with yum yum sauce and sweet chili. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it I can't wait to eat it again! My boyfriend agrees I can tell he likes it even more than me and he tried it with bell peppers. I came here after a long day of work and with an attitude and hangry (too busy at work to eat). I have several food allergies and preferences. The team here was kind accommodating and turned my frown upside down. Thank you. Food was good and clean tasting. Fresh and flavorful. Chicken buns- vegan pho- beef pho- steamed chicken potstickers. Yummy! I came here with some friends for an early lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They weren't busy at all. We were looking at the menu trying to to decide what to get and the owner came by and talk to us and gave us a little bit of feedback as well as how the menu works. The menu features bahn mi sandwiches, pho (with vegan options), BYO bowls and summer rolls, wings and a host of appetizers. Everything is freshly prepared to your liking. I opted for pho ga, and wings. The options for toppings on the BYO and rolls were a little limited, but still appealing. Service: Excellent service. As a first time, they walked me through the menu, helped me decide on items, and were very courteous. You order at the counter and the food is brought out. I think what impressed me most was that they offer a free noodle refill for your pho! What?!!!! That sealed the deal for me. I've been excited to try this place since I first read about it opening. We went for dinner on a Saturday night at 6:30. I was worried it would be really busy, but it wasn't too bad. They have kiosks that you can use to order your food. We used them, but I kind of wish we hadn't because I think it would have been nice to see your food getting made Chipotle style. We got the Cilantro Special--Bun Bo Hue, spicy and a Vermicelli Bowl. In our bowl, we got lemongrass pork, mango, jalepeño, cilantro, crushed peanut, crispy rolls, house sauce, and sweet and sour chili sauce. We loved both. The broth of the Bun Bo Hue was spicy and flavorful. It was better than any pho I've had. The vermicelli bowl also stood up to the best I've had. I would do a couple of things differently with the bowl next time. I thought the crispy rolls were the spring rolls that most Vietnamese places have as a protein option. They were just hollow rolls, so I would not get them again. I wish they offered spring rolls as a topping though. I would also get the peanut sauce instead of the sweet and sour sauce next time. We sampled some of our friends and it was better. We got the lychee lemonade to drink which was fantastic. I want to try a banh mi next time I come. Think Chipotle for Vietnamese food. The order line has all of the ingredients visible so you can see what you are adding to your order of spring rolls, Vermicelli Noodle bowls, fried rice and . However the soups and other likes are made in the back I was placing a very large order so I was asked to place my order on the kiosk. The ordering process was very simple. I ordered 2 Pho Dac Biet, 2 Vermicelli Noodle bowls (1 with grilled chicken and 1 with lemongrass pork), the Korean wings and the Honey Garlic wings. I was most impressed with the braised short rib in the Pho Dac Biet and the flavor of the Korean wings. Overall I felt like the flavors were catered towards the American taste. The prepared fish sauce for the Vermicelli Noodle was very bland. The grilled chicken was kind of dry and The lemongrass pork was very fatty. Saying that I probably won't order any of those items again. I will come back for the Pho Dac Biet. Cilantro Noodle is in such a nice location in the NoDa area. The inside is well decorated and very inviting. On our visit it wasn't busy and it was very easy to order and get our food. I've been waiting to try Cilantro Noodle for a while now, and I finally found time to make a visit to this Plaza Midwood spot! How it works: This place is very much like a Chipotle (Build your Own Bowl) for Vietnamese food. You can either go up to a kiosk and order or make your order with someone in the line. I personally prefer ordering in line because you can see the ingredients and point to the ones that you want. There are options to make your own Bahn Mi, Rice Bowl, Spring Rolls, or Noodle Bowl. They also have Pho and some other set menu items that you can order without the build your own concept. The food: Overall, the food was good. You get a hearty portion of food, and there is a fairly wide variety of options to build your bowl with. However, I was a little disappointed with the quality of the meats. I tried half chicken and half tofu and found it to be lackluster. The toppings also didn't feel quite as fresh as I would have liked. To me, the meal felt pretty healthy, but I wasn't blown away by the quality or taste. Note, parking is very limited here. There are a number of spots that are listed as reserved for Cilantro Noodle only, but the overall parking spot is very small and narrow. The two short ribs looked like meaty dinosaur bones in the bowl and I got the picture to prove it. the meat was so tender, the broth was super good and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I am super excited about going back. My girlfriend had the egg rolls and the chicken wings and she loved them. Yesterday I tried cilantro for the 2nd time and it was even better than the first. The rice is great and the protein is always fresh along with the many extra options, it's really become one of my favorite places to eat in Charlotte and it's healthy so it's a great option . I have been looking at this restaurant for awhile since moving to CLT. I'm usually a big pho person but after eating too many ramens, I decided to go with a rice bowl from here. The lemongrass pot was good, but this is a bit like fusion food. The roll was very avg. What surprised me was the wings. I visited Cilantro Noodle years ago when they first opened and was happy with the food. Lately I've reunited with Cilantro Noodle through DoorDash. They do an excellent job with their takeout orders - everything arrives just as fresh as it would to your table in the restaurant. The vegan pho is excellent - plenty of toppings for it and they even include a sriracha packet. The serving size is enough for two meals and it reheats very well the next day. Their wings are some of my favorites now and they've also traveled well in the recent to go orders. My boyfriend loved the fried rice bowl and all that it came with. Came here on a whim after work earlier this week as I had really been craving some pho! I had heard of this place but didn't know much about it other than it served Vietnamese food so I decided to stop by for dinner. I was a big fan of Cilantro Noodle when my wife and I went for dinner recently. It's in Plaza Midwood in a really trendy spot so we actually got a beer before since It was so nice out. Cilantro Noodle is fast casual but definitely eats a lot better than that. We definitely ordered too much food because the portions were generous. We got pork bao and spring rolls to start and we split the fresh roll with shrimp and lemongrass pork fried rice bowl. I'd give the spring rolls probably a 3.5/5 - a little greasy but fresh out of the fryer and hot. The bao buns I'd give 4.5/5. The fresh roll and fried rice bowls were both 5/5. The shrimp in the two rolls was so fresh and the rolls were pretty big - much bigger than I thought. The pork in the fried rice bowl was AWWWESOME. So good that when we were leaving we were trying to figure out how we could replicate it ourselves. The staff was nice and patient with us and they brought everything out to us when it was ready. I love this concept, especially since ramen, pho, noodle bowls have really become popular in Charlotte. It's like a chipotle line, but instead of a burrito, you get a noodle bowl, spring rolls or another Asian creation of your choice. I decided to make a vermicelli bowl and added lemongrass pork, cucumbers, peanuts and sprouts. After adding my max toppings, I then saw that there were pickled carrots, so I was but disappointed that I missed them (at the time, they didn't have a great list of toppings available, they do now). Then you have some sauce options and that's your bowl. Pretty straight forward. I know I made it, so I can only blame myself if it wasn't good - but all the individual components were tasty. I have to say I really wanted to love cilantro but it feel short of my expectations. The biggest issue was the quality of if the proteins, especially the steak. After reading positive reviews, we decided to give Cilantro Noodle a try. The first thing that was disappointing was they were out of "cilantro". We ordered the potstickers steamed as an appetizer. The dipping sauce was very good but they came out fried and tasted like they came out of the freezer section. Overall rating a 5. My wife ordered the pork banh mi and broth. The banh mi bread was stale and not crispy on the outside like you expect. The pork tasted premade and heated in a Asian type of bbq sauce. This was not lemongrass grilled pork. Tasted very fast food quality. Half the toppings she ordered did not make it onto the sandwich. Her broth was EXTREMELY salty. She loves salt and it was still too strong for her. My noodle bowl (see picture) came out with a half frozen spring roll on top. The portion was extremely small for the money ($17). There was literally a tablespoon, if that, of the microwaved bbq pork, and everything else was soggy and cold. I did not eat and asked for a refund. As of today, they have not refunded me.
